"Time treats everybody like a fool." Fuck, man.... that line hit me hard today. 10 years ago I was an 18 year old kid with a red sports car, making my living as a guitarist and photographer. Now I'm about to turn 29, physically disabled, and I just lost the ability to speak. My shit's fucked up. Just trying to roll with the punches.

Reminds me of Pop.worked as a gear head and wrench turner for 45 years, but every time we spotted a muscle car was manna from heaven. He wouldn’t even touch a Chevy until my buddy asked him to rebuild an engine for his newly bought $1000 SS Chevelle that we turned into a beast.

I know a lot of people who came here was because of the "King of the Road" episode of "Tales from the Crypt." But I have a fun little fact: "King of the Road" was actually not made as a "Tales from the Crypt" episode at the beginning. It was meant to be the pilot episode of a TftC-like anthology series called "Two-Fisted Tales", where it was more focused on action and crime stories instead of horror stories (which is why the episode doesn't conform to the typical TftC style horror/suspense based episodes). However, that series was never sold, so the producers decided to include "King of the Road" as a part of "The Tales from the Crypt" series.

Very interesting, thank you for that.

They used this song on an episode from "Tales from the Crypt" that stared Brad Pitt. Pitt had a Chevelle and the local cop used to be a street racer. The cop had to bring out a car that had been stored for years to race him to get his girl back from Pitt. It was a grey metallic '57 Chevy.

Actually, Hot Rodders of the 57 Chevy would opt to swap the motor since largest from factory was a 283 . The 429 Warren is referring to in the song is not the Ford 429 but rather the less well known Cadillac 429 which was available in 1964-1967 Cadillacs. Which would have been obtainable by young Hot Rodders in the early 70's.
