Lyrics:
I saw a werewolf with a Chinese menu in his hand
Walking through the streets of SoHo in the rain
He was looking for the place called Lee Ho Fook's
Gonna get a big dish of beef chow mein
Ah-hoo, werewolves of London
Ah-hoo
Ah-hoo, werewolves of London
Ah-hoo
If you hear him howling around your kitchen door
You better not let him in
Little old lady got mutilated late last night
Werewolves of London again
Ah-hoo, werewolves of London
Ah-hoo
Ah-hoo, werewolves of London
Ah-hoo, hey
He's the hairy handed gent who ran amuck in Kent
Lately, he's been overheard in Mayfair
You better stay away from him
He'll rip your lungs out, Jim
Huh, I'd like to meet his tailor
Ah-hoo, werewolves of London
Ah-hoo
Ah-hoo, werewolves of London
Ah-hoo
Well, I saw Lon Chaney walking with the Queen
Doing the werewolves of London
I saw Lon Chaney, Jr. walking with the Queen, uh
Doing the werewolves of London
I saw a werewolf drinking a piña colada at Trader Vic's
And his hair was perfect
Na!
Ah-hoo, werewolves of London
Huh, draw blood
Ah-hoo, werewolves of London

I used to play the radio at night when I was sleeping. I also taught my dog, Punkin Terrier, to sing (howl) with me to this song. Whenever it came on at night she'd wake up and lick my face until I got up and sang it with her. She loved this song! Many years after the song came out, it came on the radio when I was sleeping and she remembered it. She woke me up and it was the last time we ever sang this song together. Good old Punkin.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame's lame ass response to Steve Miller, spoken like true posers... The Hall of Fame didn’t respond directly to Miller’s numerous criticisms but did issue a statement that said: “Rock ’n’ roll can ignite many opinions. It’s what makes it so great. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame was honoured to induct Steve Miller.” On his tour bus recently, Miller was in an affable mood and said he hopes some positives will come out of all the commotion he stirred up. “I want to put pressure on them to do the right thing and make it a great institution,” the guitarist said. The people who run the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation “are living in a bubble in New York City. Step outside of it, and the Rock Hall of Fame is a beacon for music education,” Miller said. “There are people working there who do care about it, and realize it should be the centre of the universe when it comes to fighting for musicians’ rights, music education, musicians’ health care. “But right now, it’s a private little group in New York calling all the shots, guys who consider themselves the elite, experts of what is or is not important. They’re more worried about making a TV show [of the induction ceremony] than they are of taking care of the people they induct.”

I heard this song on the radio in the late 1970's, bought the Excitable Boy album, and must have played it a thousand times I loved it so much. As it turned out, I spent the summer of 1979 in London, and I spent my idle time checking out the neighborhoods. One day I was walking, I guess in Soho, and it started to rain. I didn't have an umbrella, so I took shelter under a restaurant awning, hoping the shower would pass quickly. It was a "hole in the wall" Chinese restaurant with "Li Ho Fuch" painted on the window. I went inside and ordered up a big dish of beef chow mein. When the rain stopped, I asked a bystander to take a picture of me standing in front of the place. I still have it to this day. Unwittingly, I lived out that lyric of the song, but did not see a werewolf (at least that I could recognize). Although I did not make a pilgrimage there, I guess many fans did. In 1999, I went back and found they moved to a bigger, nicer location. There is now a plaque near the entrance of the restaurant commemorating the song. It must have been good for business. I hope Warren Zevon got a cut.

I believe the guy on drums in this video used to be Santanas drummer back in the day, but its not Fleetwood.

@@albertdenardo2777 you are correct, it is. But on the studio album track, of which this is, Mick Fleetwood plays drums. That is what I was referring to in my original statement.

John Landis wanted only songs with 'moon' in the title: Blue Moon, Moondance, Bad Moon Rising, etc. Also, good directors try to avoid doing the obvious thing.

But at least we have the legacy of his recordings and some excellent videos, like some of the KZbin ones of " Werewolves of London " . I watch and listen to that song very often , it never disappoints and it cheers me up during this tough time we are all going through. Thanks for sharing your memory of a legendary artist !
