Thank you for presenting our country in such a warm, informative and rational way. Welcome to ancient place! P.S. I don't know if you're interested in archeological sites and history of art (I am naturally, cuz i'm painter and sculptor) but there's a ton of traces of ancient civilisations like Ilyrians, Roman and Byzantine E. medieval states and city-states. Those sites and artefacts are dispersed and secluded throughot the country (we don't have enormous museological experience as a state in transition) so keep exploring. The whole (though very small) country is like a natural-historical museum for those who know to appreciate heritage and aesthetics.

The town was first mentioned in 168 BC and was settled during Ancient Roman times, when it was known as Acruvium, Ascrivium, or Ascruvium. During the Byzantine era it was called Dekatera or Dekadero meaning Ten Gates, from ancient Greek words "Deka + Thira" for "Ten" + "Gate".

Thanks for showing your home, I am a bit surprised that US citizens made an effort to discover that amazing bay and medieval town of Kotor. I can say I know every mile of coast from there to Venice, dozen of places are to consider for retirement, but Kotor is at the top. I am most likely going to settle in west Istria, may be a bit more expensive and less medieval beauty, but less remote and well connected to the rest of Europe.

Love the videos. We want to travel for retirement in Eastern Europe. I wished your Ohrid deal would have worked. Could you give us an idea on the smoking conditions in restaurants in the countries you have been recently? We would like to avoid countries where it is allowed in restaurants.
@WarrenJulieTravel3 жыл бұрын
In Europe it’s notorious for smokers everywhere, that said there are many places with outside seating where it’s much more tolerable. I googled this recently and found that Serbia is one of the highest smoking populations in the world 😢 We found the population overall was fit and active, we surmise their lower life expectancy is probably related to the high smoking. This said when we were in Cuenca Ecuador smoking was almost non existent. If your focus however is Europe, it’s going to be hard to escape. You can search out Vegetarian or health restaurants which skew towards healthy customers, or eat outside as we often do. Ukraine has laws for smoke free restaurants and Bulgaria does also, we have yet to visit them though. worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/smoking-rates-by-country

€ 95,000 is too much. How much does it cost per m2? For the attic ...

€20,000 of that was renovation and remodeling. It’s also an income producer if you choose to rent to people on Holiday. The home is also located in the tourist area of Kotor old town where there is no new construction, so supply and demand makes the area coveted and worth more.

@@anneofgreengables1619 I guess my point is not all properties are in equal locations. You can get a property 1/4 of the price in another area, but it doesn’t serve as an investment or produce income. Does a studio in Beverly Hills cost more than Oakland? You can’t compare the two as equal beyond size.
