His songs still give me chills. He is so under rated. He was wonderful in concert & studio. A true poet! When I asked him to sign "Bad Luck Streak in Dancing School" he joked that I was one of the 100 people who even bought it.

@@benmeltzer Warren toured solo mostly in those years unless it was for a special performance he traveled with a guitar tech, roadie and tour manager. Occasionally he would invite friends like Leland Sklar and Waddy out to play if he was in New York or LA.

My family travelled to England in '78, and Werewolves was everywhere. My brother bought Excitable Boy and even at the age of 10, I was baffled as to why Warren's other music was neglected in comparison. As I got older, it became tragically clear. I saw Warren live at the Bridge Hotel, Rozelle in 1992. We were 10 feet from the stage. My wife Lisa, and our friend Adele sat on the bar. I've seen most of my favourites and this was pretty good. More importantly, it was WARREN ZEVON (!) and we were within speaking (ok, shouting) distance. Play it All Night Long, Desperadoes Under The Eaves, Roland etc., just a genius. A highlight of my life for sure.

Neil and Warren. The only pre-'76 rockers who transitioned with authenticity into the post-'76 world of Johnny Rotten, Joe Strummer and the slew who followed.
