Wigan were a Div2 team back then if I recall correctly. I remember we thrashed them the year later at Wilderspool when Murphy was their coach.

Eddie incorrectly calls the Wire fullback " Dennis " Finnegan and then right after uses " humdinger " incorrectly. Thank God the BBC used Eddie to marginalise the sport and keep it northern. I attended this game.
