One of the harder things about coming to this game has been understanding abilities and the basic setup on hotbars. With some abilities changing the actual icon as you level, it can be confusing to new people. You did a great job alleviating this problem, so many thanks for the video. Hope you did all classes lol.

Something to note on Bloodwhetting/Nascent flash; Inner Chaos, Chaotic Cyclone and Primal Rend will always cause critical healing on hit, while an inner release buffed ability will not. From what I can tell this is because those buffs add Cure Potency 400 per target hit to all Warrior weaponskills. My thinking is that as Inner Chaos, Chaotic Cyclone and Primal Rend have intrinsic guaranteed crits, the the game calculates that in the cure potency as well, whereas with inner release the game calculates the cure and damage separately due to inner release applying externally. Knowing this I always try to line up Infuriate/Primal Rend with them for massive 8K heals/hit and going from near dead to full HP with one Cyclone on a ~7 enemy pull. It feels good to be a self-healing dungeon AoE monster again.

I'd kind of noticed that myself in dungeons but couldn't quite put my finger on it. But you're right, I tried it on dummies and in a dungeon. I'm making a video on this to show people, as this isn't really obvious when you start playing Warrior. Thanks for the tip, really good attention to detail!

the new Raw Intuition reminds me of the good old days in Heavensward when they used to let us crossclass Bloodbath. I'll take this as an acceptable consolation prize, three expansions later. Although I still miss the garbage with popping Bloodbath and Vengeance and getting healed off of the damage spikes from mobs hitting me.

One defensive cooldown you missed is "Arm's Length". The ability only lasts 6 seconds but any normal mob that hits you is inflicted with a 15 second slow debuff, this is really good on large mob pulls. Since the mobs are attacking slower you are helping the healer a good amount. Do not use with Vengeance though since you want that reflect damage.
@K1LLW1N2 жыл бұрын
Even melee DPS gets that. I even use it if the tank dies, or if they are being slow and I'm being impatient and feel like tanking without playing tank xD Just to pull a couple more mobs of course. As a Tank though, yeah, being using it for years now. Rarely see other tanks use it though.

At level 50 I wouldn’t worry too much. Focus on spending and not overcapping beast gauge, keeping Storm’s Eye up and maximising your melee uptime, the rest will fall into place later!

The changes create an interesting edge case for the rotation. Between 45 and 50, do you use 1 aoe combo to get surging tempest, or is it better to just swing away? It's actually not that obvious imo because you can't assume that you'll get to swing away at bosses nonstop. Though in the big picture, obviously this really doesn't matter.

I'm only level 55 but I'm having a hard time deciding when to pop my damage reducers like reprisal, vengeance, etc. Any advice?
@crimsonsheik1982 жыл бұрын
Little late, but Reprisal can be used before any raid wide AoE attack or during trash pulls if you don't have any other mitigation available. Vengeance is good in big pulls during dungeons for reducing a lot of incoming damage. At level 56 you learn Raw Intuition which is great for trash pulls during dungeons and is essentially your no die button for those scenarios.

Excellent guide but some critique: 10:14 I feel this is not quite an accurate description of Bloodwhetting/Nascent Flash. Bloodwhetting provides you with four distinct bonuses. - 10% reduced damage for 8s (baseline) - 400 potency heal per weaponskill hit for 8s - another 10% reduced damage for 4s (Stem the Flow) - 400 potency shield for 20s (Stem the Tide) Nascent Flash/Glint is similar but your target is granted the baseline damage reduction along with Stem the Flow and Stem the Tide... then you are both healed 400 potency by your weaponskill hits. So when you say 10:45 that the damage mitigation only lasts for 4s you are only half right - you would still have 10% for another 4s. Also, it wasn't directly mentioned but something that may trip up returning WAR players used to the old skill - you can NOT self-cast Nascent Flash anymore. EDIT: And 11:19 it should be noted that Equilibrium gains a 200 potency HoT for 15s.

True, I read over that as I was going through the ability descriptions for the video. Good catch!

I noticed your gcd is only 2.45, do you think we should take it back to 2.38 that we had before endwalker?
@Jolsn2 жыл бұрын
You don't need to do that anymore. You used to want 2.43 or lower because you wanted to fit five fell cleaves into inner release, but because that ability works off stacks now that's not needed anymore

How do you recommend rotating cooldowns during trash pulls? It feels very awkward to me compared to PLD, which is the tank I'm used to playing.
@Jolsn2 жыл бұрын
Defensive cooldowns?
@bananafishbones57242 жыл бұрын
@@Jolsn Yes, that's what I meant. On other tanks, I'm used to just cycling cooldowns from longest to shortest, but on Warrior I'm a little stumped because several of its cooldowns are healing based rather than raw mitigation. Maybe I'm just overthinking it. Would something like using Vengeance > Arm's Length > Thrill of Battle > Rampart be a good baseline, whilst pressing Bloodwhetting on CD? That's what I've been doing, but for some reason I just feel like I"m missing something. Thanks for the fast response by the way!
@Jolsn2 жыл бұрын
@@bananafishbones5724 Sorry that I couldn't respond right away. What I do during dungeons depends on the pull really, but I generally try to get my heals on cooldown first. I'm using Bloodhwhetting/Nascent Flash on cooldown to make use of the mitigation and the healing and then I cycle through any mitigating abilities in between, so it might look like this: Bloodwhetting -> Vengeance + Arm's Length -> Bloodwhetting -> Rampart + Reprisal For bosses I try to line up Bloodwhetting with the biggest hitting abilities and use Rampart/Vengeance in between for general mitigation of strong auto attacks. On the strongest tank busters I'll use Bloodwhetting + Thrill of Battle and immediately use Equilibrium afterwards to benefit from the Thrill of Battle healing increase.

Why use both stacks of infuriate to “get the cooldown running” Wouldn’t it make more sense to use 1… get the damage buff, chaos>infuriate > chaos> inner release If I’m missing something let me know
@Jolsn2 жыл бұрын
I only say to use one stack of Infuriate right after the first Heavy Swing to use the first stack and start the recharge of the ability. After that, I apply the damage buff and only use Inner Chaos afterwards, but before using Inner Release to avoid wasting the crit direct hit

Upheavals damage was never increased during Inner Release, but you wanted to use it inside the Inner Release window because that made it free (it used to cost rage and Inner Release removed that cost). You just want to use it after activating Storm's Eye now.

Ehhh I know it's RPG game which I hate, and I hate them because of how gameplay is a low key. 10:50 You are attacking enemies from a long distance with melee even if your melee weapon is like 50 meters away from them just wtf. No faltering on enemies with strong hits, you are standing in front of enemy and it looks like the defending/guarding and dodging is for pussies, you just exchange attacks with your enemy and all that counts is if healer in your team is healing you. So if you go solo as a non healer you are screwed, it looks like the game classes are not balanced in the meaning that if you go to an dungeon or boss raid the healer is must have, because without healer you will die a lot faster. Healer should make it easier sure but not like a lot easier to the point it is must have and a healer the same as warrior for exampel should be able to do content solo as well but ofcourse with more difficulty. I play the game for a good combat but here the combat looks like the weakest part of the game.
