As a person who picked up WAR in late ShB and has not used another tank (except to level) since, this is just amazing to see more DPS options and inbetweeners for the burst. I always felt like finishers is what it was missing, and they DELIVERED. Being someone who likes solo content and unsynced solos, it’s gonna be fun to see what Eden raids can be done solo now, with the extra echo bonus and the higher damage output.

Grats on the media tour! On the one hand, a lot of the new continuation style finishers and big flashy attacks are very cool, and definitely feel like the final form of these jobs, appropriate for level 100. On the other hand, I kind of would have liked to see more transformative and cool changes to kits. It looks like playing all but a few of the Dawntrail jobs will feel almost identical to their Endwalker counterpart, for better or worse. That said, I'm just looking forward to having something new to do lol

orogeny and upheaval combining would be awful because orogeny is the only terrible WAR animation, it's as bad as a PLD animation

2000 healing potency is a lot, equilibrium already crit heals like 50k with a 1200 potency, so this regen if a few of the ticks crit will be around 70-80k healing, which can probably also be buffed by using thrill in conjunction with the ability..

The issue Xeno highlights with the regen is more of the same issue with Darkknight version that has excog, the healing isnt really adding to the defense of the skill but the recovery after. Thats not back mind you its less pressure on healers if you survive a hit. However you have to live through the hit first, and 90% of all tank busters dont have alot of follow up attacks like they did back during stormblood and heavensward. In dungeons ita phenominal but of the 4 skills WARs is probably the 'worst'. Gunbreaker got it the best followed by Paladin then Dark Knight. They are all amazing abilities that steal from the other Tanks to make more funsies.

Personally I was hoping that damnation's HOT was triggered when you took damage instead of at the end of the CD. Granted it'll be nice using that with the HOT after Equalibrium Also them not combining Upheaval and Orogeny into one attack was a miss

One day we will get a berserker mode on war where we pull out a second axe that looks the same as our normal one, and dual wield them while going ham doing double axe fell cleaves and big ground slams and such, and will be even more badass than war already is. If anyone played tera, berserker had a double axe burst mode that was similar to this concept and it was so fucking satisfying

i feel like the Wrath stacks would serve the Job better if it wasn't limited to Inner Release and instead just got one with each Fell Cleave unleashed. Especially since it's not a Crit-DH like Rend and Ruination, even when in Inner Release mode. It would also do a lot for making the job feel a little more active/less threadbare, which remains my main complaint with the Job. I personally missed when it had some Blue DPS vibes to it.

Something Im curious about and IM NOT complaining. Why are the potencies on WAR so much lower vs other tanks for their big hitting skills? Is it a balancing thing due to innate self healing? Again, Im not complaining because I know the overall damage isnt that far off from other tanks. Im just curious if we know the reason behind it.

Because of the guaranteed direct crit id assume. Pretty much all of warriors big hits have that, plus the increase to damage if there's a crit or dhit up effect like battle litany or chain strategem

WAR is pretty much about as close to perfect as it can be, function wise, and it getting new damage buttons to hit (which is arguably it's only "weakness")...if my co-tank wasn't maining WAR for all these years, it would be my no brainer choice as first job to level in DT. Warrior has always been easy, the most difficult thing was remembering to do old inner release with vengeance so the retaliation crit.

I love warrior, it was my main until i swapped over to dark knight. It's for that very reason of more button pressing that I switched. Warrior is badass but having lots of empty in between downtime puts me to sleep. Maybe the intention IS to make it easy? But i just wish they added a few more extra ogcds.

Can someone explain to me how Xenos thinks Inner Release doesn't give Storm's Eye when it literally gives a 10s duration boost to Surging Tempest?

I think he means giving initial surging tempest buff instead of extending existing buff. For example, if you use prepull inner release opener, you will do 3 unbuffed Fell Cleaves before applying your Surging Tempest buff. What he suggested will ensure that 3 Fell Cleaves will be buffed for pre-pull Inner Release opener. It's niche, but nice to have.

I feel like primal wrath was originally designed to be used outside of Inner Release as well ( like wrath stacks accumulated just through basic Fell Cleave and Decimation use) and then they thought it was to strong and tied it to Inner Release. they coulda dropped the Wrath stacks at that point but decided to keep them cause lazy coding :/

you complain that the wrath charges arent needed and the other jobs' similar abilities just turn to their follow up.. Well you answered your own question... they simply dont want you to pop instinct and primal rend > primal wrath > primal ruination ... they want you to have to use the fel cleave's before you get the 3 followup attacks one after another. They simply dont want you to hit the button and get 3 followups that hit like a tank.
