I love the character of tommy. But some people say he should have won. That's not true at all, if he wins he doesn't learn anything. If he wins he doesn't learn to trust his brother. Tapping out was a moment of real trust to his brother who the day before he had shunned. He couldn't win because he had the least to lose but the most to learn.

Realistically tommy walks away with the win he was snacking people left and right and brenden was getting lucky with his wins he was getting whooped all night long in every fight but luckily prevailing

It’s so hard to watch Tommy lose in this movie… but it makes sense why he does… because at the end of the day he chooses to fight and stand alone. Brendan has people in his corner the whole way through. Tommy (and anyone for that matter) can only fight alone for so long.
