You are very blessed. My daughter was born 9 weeks early, by emergency c section, at 2 pounds 15 ounces, with the same heart defect and Trisomy 21. She need oxygen right away, suffered many illnesses including NEC after given formula, day 3 she had duodenal atresia surgery for her bowel, and was in NICU 3 months. She is now 10 months old and weighs 12 pounds and is having her open heart surgery next week. Being able to just breathe makes so much difference. It has been a battle to not have too much oxygen in order to keep fluid out of her lungs. I will be happy to see her grow big soon.

We had a friend who died from cancer when he was 55. He was a high educated engineer. He had two sisters both with down syndrome. One only died 10 years after him and the other one is still alive. Nobody expexted that.
