Wow! I had no idea comments were turned back on. Chris, thanks so much for taking the time to visit with our family. The kids ask about you often! They have all grown so much. Angela is 25 and has moved out and lives in an apartment with two roommates. She enjoys dance, going to clubs, and her new job as a Community Service Officer with a local police department. Axel is 21 and enjoys a beer now and then. He’s looking for a job and will be moving out soon. Abel is 18, graduated from high school, and now lives in a group home that he loves. Amos is 17 and taller than Angela. He is our resident weather man. Audrey is 17 and still a princess. Asher is turning 17 and spends a lot of time climbing in our trees! Roman has graduated high school and moved back with his family. He is doing great! We are in the process of our last adoption, and hope to bring our newest DAUGHTER home around January or February 2022.

I know you probably hear it a lot.... but you and your husband are truly angels in disguise.... not many people are so willing and able (mentally, physically or monetarily) to help kids the way you two have... especially those who have disabilities and arent given the same opportunities to develop and function "nornally".... as I was growing up, my parents fostered a few kids.. i adored them all... I wanted to KEEP them all with us forever... but they all ended up being permanently homed, or doing back to their parent/family member.. back then, I wanted to be the woman you are now. I wanted to have the life experiences you have had with these beautiful kids.. I wanted to adopt until I couldn't anymore... I wanted to save every child I possibly could. I wanted to shower them with love they had never felt and SO DESERVED... they deserve to know an abundance of love, safety and compassion. I'm sure you feel your the blessed one, but I hope you know just how blessed these kids are to have had you and your husband as well... I hope you all continue to stay close and that they thrive in life even more, everyday! and i hope that you and your husband continue to do what you do best....Love and teach! 💖🤟🤗

This video has taught me so much! SO MUCH!! My younger brother has Down Syndrome, and He also has some other issues that cause him to scream, and throw things when he's upset. I use to think of him as annoying, and as problematic, but after seeing this video, You know, It's taught me something! It's taught me something I NEEDED TO LEARN! These Children, and adults with Down Syndrome are special, and they can't help the way that they are. The best people like I can to is love my Brother, because he loves me. It kind of hit me when I got out of ICU and he saw me in my bed that next morning, and called my name but I didn't answer, and he had a yelling episode. I didn't hear him call my name, but Mom told me later why he got upset. When I didn't answer he thought I was dead. He also saw me being loaded in an ambulance a week prior. I realize, Paul really loves me, and I need to do the same to him, even though He yells, screams, hits people, and throws things. Even though he asks the same question over, and over again. Even though he turns all of the lights off so I can't see to get around at night. I am legally blind. But I need to realize that my brother Paul can't help what he does, and I need to understand that. OH, and by the way, AXEL IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE NAMES!!! I LOVE THE NAME AXEL!!

I'm reminded of the story of the young man who, after axstorm, was picking up starfish that had littered a beach and was throwing them into the sea. His friend asked why he was doing that and he wasn't making a difference because there were so many. His response was that he was making a difference for each one he threw back in. These young adults are now able to be in a loving home environment, being challenged and stimulated to learn life skills and how to interact with others.
