@arifasyraf35358 ай бұрын
Young folks should really watch this and understand how an excellent defender think. I spent half an hour watching this video and got so many insights on how GP2 timed his steal attempts, how he forced a side to lead to a block, how he read passes. Really nice stuff here

Ever letting him go was a huge mistake. The Dubs have made their dynasty on having the top defense in the league year after year. Led, of course, by future hall of famer Draymond Green, but rotation players like GP2 have been instrumental in establishing that perennial defense.

Shows you how good the league is that it took that many years before Gary got the call up from the G league.
@kettchup61338 ай бұрын
I think it was more that he is a unique type of player that teams didn't think could work out. They saw a 6'3" dude without a great shot and without great handles and thought he would be dead weight on the offensive end. The NBA is pretty close-minded about what works and what doesn't with little experimentation. GP2 still doesn't get enough credit for his offensive efficiency being right up there with 7 footers who do nothing but dunk the ball.

GP2 picks the dribble off the point guard when it is on the return to his hand. That's the time that the handler has no control on the ball's trajectory (unless its CP3, Steph, or Trey). If the handler is not in position to protect the ball once it bounces off the court... GP2 is going to tap it out! Incredible defensive intelligence.
@lucky889s96 ай бұрын
Usually after that 2nd dribble after timing it

Exactly that's his formula easy to think to others but mennn,..that is really hard to do the timing it takes a lot speed and focus to execute well

Bob so friendly with the core didn't want the break up convo. Good enough Steph chose Dray over Poole. We wasted a roster spot on Iggy though. Guess he was supposed to stabilize the Locker room but wasn't there for the punch. Lessons learned. Let's go get it now
@juliusperseus86126 ай бұрын
@@all4him126 That's Not "Lesson Learned" you get Time Back. Especially on Aging Athletes. They treated Poole like A Super Star which validated his cockyness and Big mouth For No reason. the constant need to shoot the Technical Free Throw Over Steph was a Good indication of his Toxicity.

@@juliusperseus8612 he was supposed to take a cue from the system's superstar, Steph, like even all the vets do. Unfortunately he got paid& suddenly discovered he knew better than Kerr and Steph. Cp3, I never liked him, but I understand he has few turnovers and is a great mid range shooter!! Sloppy Poole with 252 turnovers last year, good riddens!! Poole got what he deserved, non playoff team!! I'm betting my money on the Warrior's 5th Championship!! Doubt Curry, ok, we'll see.
