This is Grandma from Texas. I’m 70 and this is the best rendition I’ve heard in my life. I’m southern Baptist but I’ve been a Christian since 1970. Dan Vasc turned this precious old hymn into Heavens Anthem. Im thinking that when John Newton wrote these words he intended for it to be sung this way. Thanks for y’all’s reaction

Dan Vasc is phenomenal. He just may be the best vocalist on the planet. He's 33, Brazilian, and mostly sings metal. You really need to explore his many genres of music. His covers are as good or better than the originals. Please check out Burn Butcher Burn, Bring me to Life, or any of his Disney (yes, Disney) covers. A great cover that you would enjoy is Black Wind, Fire, and Steel, featuring the totally incredible Luis Mariutti on bass. You won't believe your ears. Be sure to watch the outtro to hear Dan's wonderful Brazilian Portuguese accent as he gives info about what just happened. I've watched a ton of reaction videos but have never seen you guys before. I'm willing to give you another chance. 😊 Dan's over 855,000 subscribers tend to enjoy vocal coaches and others react to his amazing voice. I hope you will subscribe to his channel and find many more songs to post. You won't be disappointed! Dan Vasc is a vocal beast! And yes, I want his AG to be played at my funeral. I absolutely LOVE Dan's interpretation of this classic and beloved hymn!! He's got so much vocal and breath control! IMHO, he's the best tenor out there right now! The harmonica really gets me, too because my precious Granny played it beautifully. As I grew up we'd gather around the piano as a family, I'd play (and sing alto or 2nd soprano) and she'd play harmonica, while the rest of the family joined in. Priceless memories! I truly believe that all of Heaven stopped to listen when Dan sung this! God put him here to give people hope during these tumultuous times when there is so much fear, hatred, and despair in the world. Thank you for your opinion on this! I've heard this performed thousands of times throughout my lifetime and can say that he knocks it out of the ballpark!! No one even comes close to this performance!! ✝️ ❤️ 📖 🙏🏼 🕊 #AmazingLove #AmazingGrace #loveoneanother #bekind #DanVasc #VascNation #DantheManVasc

I am 62 years “young” and have been to more concerts than I can count. Blues/Rock, Metal, Southern Rock etc. This man has a God (if you believe) given gift. This Hymn means a lot to me not because I’m a devout Catholic but because I’m a recovering alcoholic in AA. In my area it’s our unofficial “anthem” and, and because he sprinkles some metal in it makes it sound better for this Black Sabbath fan.

I'm a Grandma. I'm almost 74. I have six children, 22 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. This is THE best rendition of "Amazing Grace" EVER. Period. Dan takes one on a full journey, from tentatively accepting the fact that God does, indeed, offer amazing grace to all. By the way, he NEVER sings nasally, other than this song, that I've heard, and I'm now familiar with every single one of his 242 offerings on his channel, AND a ton of other ones that are out there where he's collaborated with many others. So...then he starts heading up the scale and gets his chin up, and starts demonstrating his operatic skills. Then he slides over into the "bagpipes" section, with the harmonica. If you guys would have stopped talking a little bit, you might have heard the Celtic drum in the accompaniment, and you might have thought about how many other times bagpipes are used with this song. Then, the shoulders and the hair go back, and he says, "Enough of this! I really AM seeing the truth of God's Grace. I accept it fully, and now I will pay it tribute with every fiber of my being." Did you notice that he CLOSED HIS EYES at that point? Before, his (very expressive) eyes were wandering around and looking at things he wasn't sure he was seeing correctly. Once he closed them, and the sureness settled in, there's only one TINY flicker of an open eye. The fully-closed eyes, though, continue through the very gorgeously-held final note...even after the, "AHA!!!" Now...having said all of that, while you guys are still trying to figure it all out, at 9:19, I want to address the guy down in the right-hand corner (when I'm looking at the screen...ah...AJ). You have it RIGHT, about Dan's view...with ANY song he sings. He is all about POWER, and VICTORY. He's also a VERY strong Christian, and he chooses his songs carefully. You will (if you start hitting the rabbit hole of his channel) find a bunch of songs that you would probably NEVER have believed would show someone's faith, until you start putting the whole picture of Dan Vasc together. He also has a band named Fearless. Their full 12-track album on Spotify (and elsewhere) was WRITTEN (words AND music) by Dan and his brother Davi. It's biblical. Davi (pronounced "dah-vee' ") is the bass guitarist for the band. The other two members are lifetime friends (and one of the best guitarists around, and possibly THE best drummer...oh, my word!!!). Davi also has his own YT channel, and he writes GAME music, and also makes GAMES. He reacts to the music from OTHER games, and can tell you what's going on just by how the music sounds, when he's not even looking at what's going on in the games. These brothers are the real deal. If I were you, I'd start picking up on BOTH of them for reactions, because when you do, you'll get a LOT of new subs...IF you show them the respect that is due to them, for their SKILLS. Dan does ALL of his own production, by the way, and even has some "Ask Dan Vasc" videos you can watch, that tell you how he started, and how he has gone on, and give other people the way to learn the skills that he has amassed since he started his channel. OK...starting up the video again, at 9:19, to see how you guys get through the rest of it. The last 25-SECOND hold without an inward breath (I say that, because Dan absolutely knows how to breathe WITHOUT getting an inward breath through his nose or mouth) that starts with the words, "...I see..." and runs right through the, "AHA...!" is utterly awesome and effortless. There's only one other song I've heard him sing, that tops that hold, AND it's all METAL, is at the very end of "Black Wind, Fire, and Steel," which he performs with a WONDERFUL metal guitarist named Luis Mariutti (whom you JUST might recognize), who is, by the way, another Christian. They both are Brazilian. I would suggest you might want to react to THAT song, next. Oh, and do NOT stop it until the VERY end, EVER, when listening to Dan. Anything that comes after the song, is IMPORTANT. For the Black Wind song, he has a beautiful story about Luis, that is very important to the way the song was portrayed by the two of them. Dan does not do ANYTHING by mistake. Period. Jersey John...YOU have that last part right. Instead of going to Black Wind next, I SHOULD have said for you to go to Dan's HOMAGE to OUR country, on July 4...OUR National Anthem. I don't believe you have probably EVER heard it sung like he does. After you hear it, then search his channel for the next video he did, which is named, "An Apology," and see what that MEANS to Dan...don't take it for granted. Dan has NOTHING to do with Geoff, BUT...they recently have both chosen to do "I See Fire." If I were you, I'd react to both of them. Personally, I would do Geoff first, then go to Dan's version. They are both GOOD, but Dan's is the better of the two, in my opinion. Oh...by the way...Dan sings just about EVERY genre there is. His Phantom of the Opera work is fantabulous. He also sings Elvis (two different songs--both are respectful and gorgeous, and sung for similar reasons...you will be amazed when you hear them, and get a better clue about Dan's HEART...for music, and for people, as well as for God).

Dan Vasc is from Brazil and classically trained. He has in excess of 250 covers on KZbin from every single genre including femal vocals. He has a 4plus octave range, is pitch and note perfect.

His singing is amazing and one of the best ever. If the song didn’t move you with passion, then you must not be hearing right. His vocals are over the top and his range is extraordinary. Listen to his other covers, the guy can sing anything and everything. He has worked hard and taken his talent to a whole new level. I hope he can bless us with his voice for years and years. 👍🎼😊

I am the type of fan that needs to know ALL about the artist so have viewed all of Dan's videos, including interviews. #1 in an interview, when asked about the harmonica, Dan responded his dad gave it to him when he was 12 or 13. #2 besides being a singer, Dan is a composer, arranger and musician. He plays drums, piano, pipe organ, guitar, harmonica and saxophone. It fact, the accompanying music in the Amazing Grace video was all played by him. #3 Dan has been offered record contracts but chooses to do it his way on the net. #4 He does all of his own filming, editing, etc. However, the background music on AG was mixed by a company in Europe. #5 in case you haven't guessed, he is a Christian and doesn't smoke, drink, do drugs or have any tats. The rest, you'll have to find for yourself. Enjoy the ride...it will be EPIC.

It's funny all the bands you mentioned, as well as The National Anthem because except for Poison, Dan has covered them all, as well as doing original music with his band Fearless. You want to see him hold out a note, check out his cover of Manowar's Black Wind Fire And Steel. It's been almost three years since I first heard Dan, a Sound Of Silence cover done in Disturbed style, but even better. I've been happily lost down this rabbit hole ever since. Have fun exploring his channel, but don't make the mistake of trying to put him in a specific box; just appreciate him as a damn good singer! More Dan reactions please! Any of his songs - I love them all and will watch reactions to any of them.🤘🤘🤘 Hail, Vasc-Nation and hail the 1⃣9⃣9⃣!

Thanks for your comment, I'm staying quiet on this one coz... sigh, I was slightly peeved🙄

Why? Music is subjective, and everyone is entitled to their opinion. The only reactor I got peeved at was one who was disrespectful of the artist he was reacting to; I haven't listened to him since that one. I never get peeved over different opinions in stuff that is subjective.

Loved all of your reactions. I kept thinking... just wait... and I certainly was smiling at your comments of 'Grandma would ask who that lovely boy was that sang today'... I just grinned and said, just wait... This is a great rendition and I think the best one out there. The a cappella start to having the instruments start, then the jump in octave, the harmonica... then... then the power... a key change and even more power (and power in subtlety as well). It was fun. He was influenced by a 70/80's band called Petra, but a lot of other metal bands as well. Enjoy listening to him, he is great. If you're keeping with 'church' music, check out Dimash - Ave Maria (no lyrics), most people are blown away, as his voice is a once in a millennium!

Dan Vasc has made almost 300 videos and has done almost all of the 80’s hair band’s songs but better. BTW, he sings an amazing version of the Star Spangled Banner-and he lives and records in Brazil! Welcome to Vasc Nation! He has sung opera, Elvis’ music, Broadway Hits, Disney Songs, and yes, Iron Maiden songs! He’s absolutely amazing and is half Italian. Now his recent stuff does not have the little clips of his talking to the audience, and I miss those, because he’s very interesting and hilariously funny. If you’re looking to leap out of your chair, watch “Bring Me To Life “ originally by Evanescence, because that will shock you at his vocal style and “Burn Butcher Burn” is another shocking one! He’s admired and adored the world over and has a ginormous following! He never fails to impress me, and he’s been hinting that he may release his very metallized version of “ My Heart Will Go On” for Valentine’s Day, so from the parts that I’ve heard, Wow! What a treat that’ll be! Please watch “Burn Butcher Burn”! You’ll be surprised! Thanks in Advance!
