@@ZealShuffles I agree. The UN issued a resolution declaring war the heaviest crime against humanity. All countries supported that. The result is such: there aren't fewer wars but now nobody calls a war as "a war". Never ever you see a formal declaration of a war. The governments hypocritically call them "combined actions", "special operations" or "special military operations" but don't bother even to break diplomatic relations if they have any. The only historical example of such behavior was before WW2 in Khalkhin-Gol conflict when Soviet 57th special corps fought Japan's infantry division in Mongolia without any formal declaration of the war. This documentary isn’t accurate. There has never been a confirmed conclusion as to how Goring got hold of the cyanide pill and we’ll never know for sure as the only person who can tell us is Goring himself. He did have family visits off his daughter and such who could have smuggled it into him. One guard came out years later to say he was stopped by a German woman and asked to give something to Goring but I think he was disputed as making this up. Others say that when the guards gave him his personal items just before he was meant to be hung, a cigar holder was one of the items which had the cyanide capsule inside. This is the first time I’ve ever heard of the pot of hair cream. He could have hidden multiple capsules and arranged various people to smuggle or arrange one to be bought in for him just to make sure at least one of the plans were successful so he would end up with at least one capsule, hence various people claim so many different ways that he got the capsule.

Fun fact about Goring, he was addicted to morphine for years and years, using hundreds of mg of the stuff everyday, was even put in a psychiatric ward in an Asylum twice, before the war but he never quit his adiction. When he was arrested, they had to hospitalise him to wean him off drugs before the trial. Before he was captured, he arranged the Luftwafe to bomb his home so the Red Army couldn’t ransack it and obviously begged for a killing by shooting rather than hanging as he saw hanging a punishment given to peasants. To think he tried to emulate so much pride, you wouldn’t think he was essentially a desperate drug addict. No offence to anyone who has addiction issues but it’s just such a contradiction to the image he tried to portray.

One Air Force pilot was planning to fly to Switzerland and would have made almost half a million for this one flight bringing back watches to sell to the Russians. Wehrmacht soldiers were kept in POW camps for years afterward, to work in restitution and be deprogrammed from fascism, treated fairly decently and kept off the street. At the very least, this provided a basis for a new post-war leadership to arise, prevented a revanchist insurgency, as was the case with the freikorps groups after WWI, festering their grievance mongering into a totalitarian reaction to Social Democracy.. At any rate, the process worked well.
