No worries at all about the exp rate. The character level progression in warband completely breaks down for high level cap mods like Warsword Conquest. Myself when I'm playing (specially mage) I'll straight up cheat and give myself a nice headstart in skills at level one so that by the time the level ups start getting scarce I'll at least be able to compete with the enemy units. No one should feel ashamed of cheating a little when your opposition can be enemies with 30 strength, maxxed out combat abilities and 400 weapon proficiencies, which you can run into pretty much from level 1 (like those CURSED Naggaroth Assassins in elf and Araby territory)

I just edit my character file to give myself 1 million Strength. Unbeatable melee damage, practically immortal. And 100 Agility, so I can outrun even some mounted troops. This way, I don't have to worry about dying too easily and can just enjoy the experience. I also level up like crazy and can train an army quickly, and experiment with the various troops.

Don't forget to collect the reward for the Kidnapped Girl quest after all that "trouble". Afaik the reason why Arena Fighters sometimes gang up upon the player is that they are, due to engine limitations, assigned to 1 of 3 teams, which can result in them not attacking each other. I'm not sure if Eleanor would be a great choice as a companion, Lizardmen absolutely hate human pirates.

You should increase the companion/hero exp gain as well. They need it even more than players since companions level so much more slowly than the player as they struggle to get a lot of kills in battle.

Another way to modify the start is to save your charactor export character. The go to the folder charators are saved in. The files are in note pad and you can adjust bonus points and gold. Great for starting the game running with how nasty the roaming armies can be

I feel like increasing the Exp gain also just cuts out some of the grind that is inherent from the base game anyway so I'm all for it for the player character. Can you do the same thing in Bannerlord? I never got into mods for Bannerlord.
