It could have been summed up like this: Blacksmith - If you are building brute as Destroyer (main tank) Dont give him anything else. The best one handed mace in the game needs as much strength as possible, so +10 from bs helps a lot. Alchemy - if you have a ranger and you plan on to having him as a dps (cutthroat early game, assassin later). Thief - if you have Archer in your starting group, this would be the profession early on. Archer can use crit and dex and does not need as much dex early on as ranger. If you dont have archer in your group early on (couple starting options dont have it) then ranger works early on too, but try to get your rangers on Alchemy as soon as you can. If you are starting with no ranger no archer party remember that you can get free (costs 1 medicine) ranger in the Tiltran mill. Woodcutter - early on this should go on a Swordsman/2h Brute/Warrior but overall this profession levels very slowly, you need to constantly visit farms and mills, later on I would just replace it with Blacksmith on swordsman, Tinkerer on 2h Brute (if you are going for vanguard with some good 2h aoe hammer) or whatever warrior spec you chose, all are fairly weak compared to brute, maybe barbarian is nice as a one off. Cook - if you are starting with Spearman then this is the best class to put it on. It doesnt do enough dmg to warrant bs being a good choice. Mining - Similar with cook. Spearman is great option, 2h warrior/2h Swordsman/1h warrior are all decent options if you dont have any other choice. Scholar - you need one for those legendary weapons from tomb of ancients. Put it on someone, doesnt really matter who (just dont lose already acummulated xp on the char, chose someone who either just dinged or has very little xp in the new profession tier). Scholar levels incredibly fast and you will be max after like one tomb and finishing those fragments from your first or second tomb. Bard and Angler - I always skip those, not enough party members and the bonuses are really bad.

Excellent summation @Vendelín Vomáčka. I think I will have to do a follow up video in order to cover all of this. I think it's very important information. The point of this video was more to show how you can take advantage of all the professions early game with a tiny party. You definitely want to get the right professions on the right party members for the long game though. Which you explain perfectly here. Cheers, thanks for the comment and the insight.

Thanks for making this short and to the point, otherwise I'm not sure I ever would have found out how to switch professions back and forth on one person. It seems practically all videos just talk about what the professions do, or which is the best one for which character.... but I could not find any videos for people who had already started playing, but wanted to switch their profession because there was a more helpful one early on.

@Fzoul Cmbyl Cheers, I'm glad it was helpful for you. It's certainly useful early game or if you're running a small party to have one member switch occupations. But, you definitely do want to take advantage of the bonuses from sticking to one occupation for your characters in the long term. Some of the bonuses are substantial. I will have to do a follow up guide for mid game professions. Anyway, thanks for the comment, have a good one.

I highly suggest thief on ranger since crit and dex is his main stats theres a lot of tricks how u can get around as a thief from the very start you can safely steal any lvl 2 weapom/armor without getting wanted it gives warning yes or no getting wanted just click no an try again until u automatically get it with less than 100 suspician later on u can steal books use it get only fined 20 gold. Chain prisoners gives minus 20 suspicion .

Thanks Kent, I agree completely. The thief is the perfect occupation for the Ranger. I often do a lot of petty theft though, stealing food, ingredients, raw materials and so forth. That way I can get rid of the stolen items right away by consuming them or using them to forge something. That's not a bad idea to steal weapons though, especially early game. I do like to forge my own gear, but it's also good to have other options. Thanks for the comment @Kent Montero.

Master Cook can give you a lot of bonus including fatigue reduce and food reduce. i use them to slav... i mean worker at least 4 of them in stock so that they can not escape and give then 100% capacity backpack.
@OttoResolve
@OttoResolve Жыл бұрын
@BaraRaikaMos Those cooks are fantastic. Definitely one of the top occupations. Also, I never thought to use the 'workers' to help increase carrying capacity. I may have to give that a try.

jack jack of all trades should do angler/scholar, perhaps even thief. these won't lock you out of doing anything due to lower tier. woodcutting never change and get as early as possible, pita to level, by far the worst, but the bonuses are essential for main dps openers like swordsman, warrior. miner is better for swordsman, because riposte tactics will concede AoOs and you need a bit of a con boost for this. blacksmith ideal for warrior, or brute with the legendary mace, though for tanking purposes (less stats to movement, more to strength) cook is ideal.

@@OttoResolve Thanks! That was part way during my first playthrough. Since then I have began a new one and have changed my mind slightly: 1) Swordsman riposte - Tinkerer. Many attacks, means more crits registering. Needs the crits more than the Warrior, as the latter is devastating even without crits. 2) Warrior-executioner - Angler or Woodcutter. 3) Second Swordsman/Warrior - whatever you didn't choose from 2) 4) 1st Ranger - Thief, 2nd one Alchemist 5) Brute with Erkeshet's Mace - Blacksmith. Less aptitude points into STR and more into movement, willpower. Brute with Dagan will benefit as well, just not as much. 6) Prisoner - Miner and Bard (optional) later on. Get mining going as soon as you are close to getting Stocks, don't switch until Journeyman. 7) Cook is optional. You can do without an assigned cook, as food is plentiful. However, you will need to cook and craft things. This is the most problematic one. Switch whatever merc has reached the next tier, do mass cooking, ideally level up to something, then switch back. This is why you want a surplus of food, and do mass crafting when you can. The bonus is CON, which is actually useless. Eventually, you'll have very high damage AND very high armor, you will hardly ever look at the HP of your mercs. 8) Scholar - You will need one at some point. Much easier than cook, as it is infrequent. So switch anyone from something that is not frequently used, like alchemy and blacksmith, WHEN these have just levelled up. Play without the bonuses and the crafting for a few rests until research is done and then switch back. No big deal. 9) Bonus strat: As soon as you reach master tinkerer, have another merc switch to tinkerer and power level as much as you can. You won't lose anything from the other profession at that point, switching temporarily back to it for crafting every time you level up Tinkerer, if you need to. Best candidates: Ranger who was alchemist. 2nd Swordsman. Anyone you recruited later on that is a crit-build.

I wish they would just let you learn a primary and secondary so better control group number
@OttoResolve
@OttoResolve Жыл бұрын
@Kenneth Hartless That's a great idea. It would definitely make the party more manageable. I find a really large group starts to slow the game down quite a bit.

Yes! Also the Epic weapons have the Brotherhood, break them down and choose a different weapon. Right now I have 2/2 handed weapons no weirder. To me the 2 handed mace weak. I think would help game pace.

@Kenneth Hartless Ah, that's very interesting. So, if you breakdown an epic weapon at the workbench you will be able to choose a different weapon? I'm going to have to give this a shot.

this! because to me I don't want to lose all xp by switching professions. So the only real solution is to have 11 people (maybe the bard and brewer aren't worth leveling up so I could do with 10 and double up those two)

Cook should be second most important, especially early game
@OttoResolve
@OttoResolve Жыл бұрын
@Chris F I 100% agree. I find that usually by the time I have all the materials to build the cooking pot is right around the time I recruit my 5th character, who usually becomes my cook. Typically I do this after completing 1 or 2 bounties.

I agree with cooking, hunting boars and wolves to make sausages helped a lot. Then stealing food, and using it to cook avoids getting caught with stolen goods. The apple pancake gives 14 food and reduces fatigue stacks.
@OttoResolve
@OttoResolve Жыл бұрын
@Davion Angeles I think the cook is becoming my favorite occupation. Helps big time. Do you remember where you got the recipe for the sausage? Or did you unlock it with a skill point? I'm probably going to do a video on the cook soon and I want to feature as many recipe locations as possible.

@@OttoResolve I unlocked them after getting the Cook profession. However, There are numerous meals that have huge benefits. Like the Apple pancake, mutton stew, porridge, and culture shock,However these meals only last until next rest, by taking the destiny... are used to long walks you reduce fatigue stacks. As of writing this I am thinking to take the Bandit Path with the less suspicion boon. Long walks is only 10%, maybe less actions to lower suspicion will net less fatigue. I will make the Brute the cook and a full tank. Just steal everything, cooked to buff my party, and capture prisoners. Seems to be a very efficient route. Rangers are valor hungry also, so mutton stew would be good.
@OttoResolve
@OttoResolve Жыл бұрын
@davion Angeles Anything to reduce your suspicion is solid in my opinion. You should be stealing often but keeping your suspicion below 100 whenever possible. I am a big fan of long walks as well though, my understanding is that it should essentially allow you to walk 10% further in-between rests. I'm still experimenting with the recipes myself. Good to know there are some nice benefits for the different recipes. Thanks again for the comment and the insight.
