I would add that since I believe air RB is the culmination of War Thunder (as a pilot), try flying mostly on one crew slot for maximum crew leveling since you only use one in air RB. Like, even if playing arcade in the beginning, put your best plane in that slot.

I started this game so long ago and the grind has been so hard that all of this was forgotten. Great guide and video for new players, I will deff recommend this to new players.

Something I noticed about Air RB is that backup vehicles mean absolutely nothing. No point in having them outside of Ground AB/RB and Air AB.

Nothing beats being day one in WT and going to sim. After an hour I finally take off, and fly flat at an alt of 300 because when I move I hit a flat spin😂 I usually get shot down within 20 min and couldn’t dodge🤦♂️ 2 weeks into game I have all my settings personalized, I’m hitting rank 3 vehicles in USA, and stick with hit bombers in sim to get my experience for shooting up

Ah man, i started this game almost 7 years ago, I miss those times when there was no opportunity to try jets in premium test flights or in arcade tank battles, you could only fly a jet if you grinded a tech tree. I don't know how to say it, but something was very magical about jets as a beginner, I think the old players will get it.

Something to note as well - it's better to turn off auto-repair especially once you get to planes rank III/IV+ (box with a wrench in the bottom right corner of the screen in hangar). Some aircraft can be really expensive to fly and are literally capable of draining your pocket dry, so it's best to make sure what you are dealing with in terms of repair cost in RB.

Just started playing about a week ago and I'm currently sitting at 3.3br for US Aviation. One thing I'm curious about is the mixed combat. If I have a plane in my lineup with tanks, am I restricted to only Realistic or can I use my plane in Arcade as well? I noticed after a while in Ground Arcade you can choose to spawn in 1 of 3 different planes but I wasn't sure if there was a way to specifically make those choices planes that you have available

Ground Realistic lets you use your own plane that you've put in a crew slot. Ground Arcade ignores any planes in your lineup and picks one from a small pool that's right for the BR.

I haven't played ground arcade in a long, long, time but the last time I did, it did not let me use my lineup'ed planes and auto picked one for me. On an interesting note - I recently did a naval arcade battle, and it DID let me fly out a plane I had lineup'ed.

Everything is Jets, Jets, Jets nowadays. Yeah, they are awesome, but the reality is new players are getting left out. 😥 Videos showing controls, and explaining the actual Air Arcade battles and challenges using Reserve planes and low-tier planes are like 8 years-old... In my 📖 book, this is truly sad and pathetic! 😠

Because that content is not entertaining, you got people like Spitflyer and Defyn doing a lot of prop reviews but a lot is jets because a lot of the playerbase is at that point.
