WARTSILA 16 V32. RUNNING THE ENGINE WITHOUT THE GOVERNOR, MANUALLY CONTROLLING THE FUEL RACK. THIS WAS JUST A TEST RUN AT APPROXIMATELY 300-500RPM. RATED SPEED IS 750RPM.

It's funny to thing you need a two foot wrench to turn the throttle, when most of use use our finger to turn the throttle of what we are working on. That compressed air starter really gave it a good spin.

the vertical bottle is the lub-oil filter. the horizontal bottle contains starting air.

Plabon Khan 7 I would imagine one is for introduction of an oxidizer, i.e. air, and the other for fuel, e.g. ,being a diesel, there are starting energies available that are much lower than straight diesel alone....probably has just such a mixture, something more volatile, basically. Such a 12-cylinder engine gives 6300kw at 600 rpm, this has 16 cylinders, meaning it gives more 10,000kw. I worked in a factory of such diesel engines, so I know.

+WCML Traction I've seen people who had a lot of common sense and were being very careful get seriously injured by moving machinery. Shit you can't control happens. And it doesn't take a hell of a lot of effort to make a perfectly acceptable guard...give me three sheets of old crusher mesh and some angle iron, and I'll whip you up a guard in a couple of hours - and I don't weld all that fast.
