15 years ago, i had a job at Lips Dunen ( Now it's Wartsila) the workshop i've been working is compleet gone.....anly a small service station is remaining. don'n know if the name wartsila is still there....lot's of job's ar gone.

Rob, I worked for LIPS USA and did four weeks of training at Lips Drunen in 2002. Rob Gieben, Carl Ryss, Henk de Hoo and others who's names escape me. I trained mostly in the overhaul shop. Where were you?

That's because workers in Europe take responsibility for their own actions and do not hide under unions, workmans comp, lawyers, etc etc. They are not as sue happy and the courts use common sense not "the law". When my family toured plants over there they noticed the lack of safety gear as well. Basically its your own choice. If you stick your finger in there and it gets cut off, your own fault for not thinking, learning or paying attention That is why their quality is so high people there care

brilliant,we do not see the most efficient combustion engine here though, the 2 cycle crosshead, the lowest fuel use of them all measured in grammes/ shp/hour, turning at 100 to 150 rpm, 10000 times the power of a powerful car turning at 5000rpm

A friend of the family used to be CEO of Wartsila. The guy before him died of a heart attack. Within the space of 5 years our friend had two then retired. The chap who came after he was forced to quit due health had a heart attack within one year...Read into that what you will!
