What a cool jam. Bass is the musical bridge to different styles. 3 guys from diff worlds making incredible off the cuff music. Steve Bailey blew me away in this and I didn't know P Nut was that heavy

Had to be a thrill for PNut to get to do that. He's a great funk/slap bass player. Always love the loose sound of his chord strokes and slaps. He can play tight bass but is at his best letting it sound thick and loose.
@marksims6811 жыл бұрын
Amazing. Three completely different styles of bass playing layered into one, but its the kind of jam that any aspiring bass player could leap into and add something to. Bass guitar - the glue that holds music together.

Check out his solo Band "Mass Mental? " he plays together with another bass player a drummer and two singers. They're making some crazy Metal-Funk-Rap Crossover stuff. Saw them live yesterday at Warwick Open Day in Markneukirchen and they kicked ass \m/

I couldn't stop grinning through the whole video, love it, shows the versatility of all players involved and most of, the versatility of an instrument most people think should just be hitting Roots in the lower octave.

The thing is you have to change your style a little bit to fit in to the music you're going to play with or too you wouldn't expect a heavy metal bass player play heavy metal bass in a for example a jazz band

Hey, I know that guy Steve. I'm a guitar player mainly. Went to MI in the early 90s. That guy Steve must have been a teacher there back then. I used to see him a lot. Played some shows there too.Sick bass player, was playin his 2 by 6 ( 6 string) back then. He was into some different shit then but was really good. Kinda cool to see him again. He looks exactly the same. Doesn't he age???

It's like Steve Bailey is the Warwick Bus Master controlling energy with his superior fretless 6 string. Trujillo must prove himself at once to not get be banished by going harder then him, even though we know Bailey could do all that. Instead he chooses to rest in a neutral state of Pastorius-esque melody channeling, where the virtuoso players are essentially breathing. Then P-Nut is in the corner wanking off with a 4 string.
@pau1rose2 жыл бұрын
P-nut's 4 string has 5 strings. weird.

is Rob doing those fast sixteenths with two fingers?
@mujari7 жыл бұрын
No, he's doing something like geddy lee. back and forth with the middle finger.i can do it faster than 2 fingers
@bassdmin74366 жыл бұрын
yup. and Steve Bailey can do 32nd note arpeggios off all 6 strings on a fretless. there are some BEASTS playing on Team Warwick.
@badass63006 жыл бұрын
+Matthew Collis well the two fingers simulate a pick basically as it's almost the same with a pick, even slower as here one finger follows the other, while with a pick you have to stop the downforce of your hand and go upwards.
