New Bowling Green is a great pub with the town's best beer garden (it's a two minute walk from the castle and the East Gate), and since the new licensees took over in the summer of 2023 it has got even better! Pop in and say "hi!" - the food is lovely, the staff are wonderful! We try to go in once or twice a week if we can. Treat yourself!

St Mary's church is amazing inside. Roebuck pub is worth a mention too.

Warwick has been my home for 50 years. Like any town it does have its less rebutable parts but I love living here, it has such beauty and history. Despite walking/driving past the castle thousands upon thousands of times it still takes my breath away. I would recommend the Randalph Turpin Statue in the town centre, a local boxer who against the odds beat the legendary Sugar Ray Robinson to become champion of the world. Randys statue is just outside the Rose and Crown pub. 100% recommend hiring a rowing boat from St Nicks and floating up to the castle, the views from the river are so beautiful. As a child I had free reign of the town centre museum after closing, my moms best friend worked there and my sister and I would hang out in there waiting for my mom to finish work at the nearby Woolworths - I would spend hours looking at and touching the dinosaur bones. One nit pick, Warwick has 2 St Marys Churches, Tolkien was married at the smaller and less impressive church on West Street rather than the one you showed in your video. Thank you for having a passion for my town.

Great Vlog, Warwick seems to be a very interesting place to visit, wow the old hospital is amazing, sounds like a great town to visit if you are a history buff, thanks for sharing

Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed! There's so much history there, it's like the modern town is built on the medieval town. If you like history Warwick Castle and the hospital are a must!!

@@AlexTravels1 Is the nightlife good. Are there any bars and clubs?
@AlexTravels13 жыл бұрын
There's less of a nightlife in Warwick, for bars and clubs the nearby Leamington Spa (10 mins by train/5 mins by car) is a better bet! there are however many pubs in Warwick... they're everywhere!

We have lots of peacocks in Greece too. Need to do a UK tour even though I'm a Londoner loool
@AlexTravels13 жыл бұрын
I was going to be travelling to Greece earlier this year but sadly it got cancelled! But I definitely will next year! It's strange because I haven't seen peacocks anywhere else in England other than Warwick Castle😂

@@AlexTravels1 I hope you get to go next year and that is strange tbh haha

Sorry but you're wrong about Tolkien - he was not married in that church on your video but a different church; there are two St Mary's churches in Warwick, a CofE and a Catholic one. Tolkien was a Catholic and was married in the smaller and newer St Mary's Immaculate Catholic church, which is outside the West Gate.

Tolkien wasnt married there. He married at the church on west Street which I think he helped build.

Nice, do you think Warwick Castle will be open now?
@AlexTravels13 жыл бұрын
I believe so! We went back in November last year, everything was open inside and out, it was extremely quiet as well due to the limited capacity of people
