Mmmnn, doesn’t that mean the boundary on the other side is ridiculously far away? I think the demand for a high number of fresh pitches for all the varied formats in the game today has meant what used to be a “square” made up of only a few pitches has stretched into a long strip almost spanning the ground and inevitably some pitches will have close boundaries. The fielding side have to be very disciplined with bowling line and field placement to stop easy scoring - not always possible.
