Ricochet was never what they claimed it was. Seeing some content creators who would say 'I have a contact who can get this account banned' proved to me that cheaters were being manually reviewed. If a game cannot identify a flying car, or a flying boat, or someone hitting 100% of shots on every player on the map, then the anti cheat simply doesnt work. The fact that cheat providers can now bypass ricochet when these 'screenshots' are taken, shows how ineffective ricochet is. Activision simply lied to us. They verbally sold us on some super advanced AI driven anti cheat but the reality is that ricochet is nothing more than a front door security guard asking for ID while the other 12 entry doors are left unguarded.

It is an AI driven anticheat. It takes screenshots and then the AI studies them for esp boxes and cheat menus. The cheats however detect this and temporarily disable the esp and other things that can get detected so ricochet does not find anything.

Before the last 5 or 6 weeks, I rarely saw ‘obvious’ cheaters. I ran into the odd one, maybe every 20 or so games. Recently, it’s probably 1 out of every 3 games we encounter obvious cheaters. Around a week ago we encountered multiple rage hacking teams in one night. I’m talking full aimbot, shooting people across the map, out the sky, all on 30+ kills. I reported all of them, but none were kicked. The anti cheat is not an anti cheat in my opinion. It’s simply a reporting system, as it doesn’t seem to detect anything on its own.

Thanks Tactical Brit - I've been saying this for ages as a console player (Ps5) to play with crossplay disabled. The unequal playing field when playing (as a high kd player) against other PC players who can enable wallhacks (in a BR no less) puts me at a massive disadvantage. And you can argue cronus until the cows come home, but the numbers just don't add up. It sucks they'll never remove crossplay, but the reality is that Ricochet doesn't work.

I’m currently under the opinion the decision to turn cross play off has automatically been disabled by COD devs. If it’s off we can’t invite our other ps5 teammates! So you have to turn it on. Send invite, and then when everyone is in lobby then you can turn it off. Or so they say. As we still have pc players in all our lobbies all the time. So that’s my belief. The option to choose has been taken away.

What I've noticed with turning off crossplay on PS5 is that when you trurn it off, you then have to restart the game for it to take full effect. Otherwise you'll still get a few PC players in your lobbies.

The disable crossplay option is not even within the cod menu for xbox now.. you need to disable it through xbox settings and then you get a pop up every load screen informing you xplay is off.. and that you should turn it back on.

I think they should do an anti cheat like Valorant for PC and make it mandatory to play COD on PC. Then I think cross play would be fine if you cut off the PC cheats. Never going to stop hackers at this point. The best option, in my opinion, is to go back to a server browser and let the community rent and manage community servers. This would let us have our own server admins again to deal with the hackers.

The fact that Activision didn't include a way for Xbox players to turn off crossplay the same way PS were able to was ridiculous for Warzone. Console only crossplay is the absolute easiest way for them to fix the cheating problem immediately for PS and XB players and also have an even playing field in terms of hardware capability. The wild part is, they probably already have it as an option that they could put out in an update anytime they want.

I mostly play Plunder on PC & I can honestly say we run into cheats every game, it almost seems they all run on teams. As if they meet on the engine owning forums and squad up. They are always low level new accounts with all the skins already unlocked and tracking you through walls & insta kills with locked on face shots. It's getting beyond old. I have always said, Ricochet is merely the col name given to the sweatshop in India where people manually siphon through reports. The only time I have seen someone get booted is when many people report the same person in a single match otherwise high& low level cheaters just flip their cheats on and off to avoid detection and keep playing. The easiest method would be for Activision look at KDR leader boards. If someone has a KDR of 10+ shadow ban them and observe. NO ONE should legitimately have a KDR of 10 in this game.

I have bad news for you. I play on PS5 and got sick of cheaters so turned off crossplay and it was a nightmare. In Warzone Trios it was very rare to get a full lobby - most lobbies were in the 40s and took forever to start. Also, I believe by design the lobbies were ultra sweaty. A lot of lag and just a terrible experience. I believe they do it on purpose so that you don't turn crossplay off. Maybe it's different outside the US but I highly doubt it.

Many say there are cheaters in every game and I have an answer to this: It all DEPENDS on the skill bracket you play, the better your stats become the more likely you will face a cheater. Now there is a thing - "RAGEHACKERS" are more likely to pop in low skill bracket before they get too many reports and shadowbanned and in higher skill bracket there are plenty who try to hide it. For example a guy keeps my squad in a corner of his screen the whole time he hunts us(NO uav or radar) after he wiped us they did the same to about 5 other squads and the funny part is as he got like 8 spectators he started to just mark people and let the noob squadmates which had barely 1 kill to do the job so he can hide it.

As a PC player cross play is bad idea for shooters if you are not going to have simple features such input matchmaking and a robust anti cheat. A knock on effect also is that controllers now have ridiculously overcharged rotational aim assist which is annoying to deal with and does a disservice to console players. On top of that you have chronus users flooding the console space. COD multiplayer is chalked until they deal with all this.

With over 2 decades in first and 3rd person shooters, and multiplayer platforms, we have lost count, but we can call the obvious way faster than any anti cheat currently failing at it's job. We used to hold a ban hammer before the companies started relying on anti cheat and perma bans that just don't work so they could resell skins and battle passes to the people they are pretending to ban so regardless of how many legit players quit, the profit keeps rolling in.

I know one of the mitigations shown in MW2 was invisible AI players, but it needs to be mandatory in every single game, not something that is just deployed once in a while to suspected cheaters after they have already ruined many matches. It would at least catch some of the wallhackers out. But then they just sign in on another account and cheat until that gets banned. So it doesn't really solve anything with the current state of the anti cheat.

The problem is I don’t think they would disable cross play with PC only. They’ve made strides to get the PC numbers that they currently have (remember how dead the PC community was pre MW2019?). They disable cross play, they kill that community, thus losing out on potential revenue.

I play for about two hours per night, and I encounter at least two blatant cheaters every night, and there’s usually a cheater in my very first match. When the anti-cheat detects a cheater they should instantly be permanently banned, and ban their IP so they can’t get on even if they create another account. I have never reported a cheater until three months ago and in that 10 week period 9 of the 11 accounts I reported were banned. Three of those hackers were on my team when they were reported. Just last week teammate dropped 26 in one of the most blatant uses of aimbot I have ever seen. We won the game and it felt so scummy. I actually felt bad for the final full four man who got insta deleted in a 4v1. I am a bare average player and in mid tier lobbies I never really saw a lot of cheating until October/November last year. Now its so bad.

Good points and i think we can all agree ricochet is basically like sprinkling a few drops of water on an inferno, COD needs an effective anti-cheat. However disabling cross-play is simply not the solution people think it will be and that is primarily due to there existing a culture of cheating, which will be empowered through the advancement of newer more powerful real-time AI systems that are imminently upon us (some available today). Now on console these might not be as extreme as what PC has available (though you would be surprised), but they come with a massive benefit, literally zero possibility of an anti cheat detecting it. The ultimate solution is not even an anti-cheat imo, but dealing with the culture of it, as sadly, given where technology is going, no amount of stop gaps will prevent those who want to cheat from doing just that. What needs to occur is tangible consequences at a social level for doing it.

I've come across many wall hackers in WZ. Here's how I know it's a wall hacker. When the vehicle they are driving immediately stops a few feet from where I'm camping. I'm running cold blooded, ghost, and wearing the invisible vest 🦺. Yet, this wall hacker can slide in the door and instantly start firing rounds in my direction whether I'm prone, standing on a table, I'm making no movements at all. When you're in a vehicle what type of super hearing can you hear from vehicles audio output? None you literally have to be on foot in my experience to hear someone in a building scurry around. I won the gulag only to be killed again by the same wall hacker. I spectated their gameplay after the kill. I reported them. They eventually got kicked after killing 5 more players. It's sad that some individuals say "It's just a game" yet they spend extra money just to cheat. I enjoyed your video and agree turn off cross play for PC users and let them "compete" against their own and their super scripts.

I'm a PC player myself for many years and I played all COD, BF and a ton of FPS titles. In EU mostly, I can say that since MW2, every 1 out of 3 lobby has at least 1 cheater if not many more but I don't want to be rude and that 1 out of 3 lobbies is 100% cheating. I report when I encounter those and I can see some getting kicked, or I get a notification that some action was taken. But this does not mean that Rico works, just proves that it does not work at all since it acts on manual report. The cheating vectors are missing from Rico core or found way to slow (aka ban waves). My solution at the moment, I'm switching to controller even if I played MKB all my life just to eliminate a few of them and most probably will move to a console at times if this continues and most likely take a break here and there due to the sheer numbers of cheaters. Also @TheTacticalBrit consider this that Rico does not have any counter measure yet for DMA cheats which start to infect most FPS game as of late.

Im about to quit cod all together. The lobbies are seriously way too hard. They say it’s skill based matchmaking. Then why is my normal experience so brutal? If it’s based on skill I should be with people of the same skill level. I always turn crossplay off and don't encounter any issues starting a match. I play on European servers, and the lobby fills up in less than a minute. However, the problem arises in the rank mode in the warzone. Even with crossplay turned off, I still enter lobbies with players from other platforms. Unfortunately, in almost every lobby, there's at least one team using wallhacks, giving them an unfair advantage. My k/d is 3.7, and I consider myself skilled at this game. I can distinguish between a UAV and someone exploiting wallhacks. I wish I could play rank resurgence with crossplay turned off!

with a k/d that high you either on a high end pc or close to it, run riot shield, and or melee, or a cracked p5 player either way i can definitely distinguish when i get killed with no information vs uav, etc. my k/d is 1.75 but im on a p4 and could easily be pushin 4 k/d on a p5...oh yea and unnatural "awareness" tends to be a big thing in my lobbies i stg when im on amazing pace picked 10-14 kills quick in for a good game its funny how after i get all those kills everybody just has "uav" for some odd reason...

I have been saying this about Crossplay for the longest time now. My Wife plays Apex Legends, and sometimes I'll jump in some games with her. Now I'm in Xbox series X and she's on PC. When I'm in her lobbies, the amount of cheaters in these lobbies is insane! Same with COD. PC lobbies are littered with cheaters. MnK have always had a problem with console Aim Assist anyway so I say turn off crossways and let's go back to the glory days before it!,

It's a tough one for me, two of the people i play with are on pc and i'm on xbox. The last month has been terrible though. Diamond/Crimson ranked lobby earlier had two obvious hackers, they got live banned but not before costing %70 of the lobby hard earned SR

Casual average gamer here, I watch you and your mates to get any tips to be a little more competitive in my current enforced downtime, I use bog standard PS5 and Sony headphones, would be great if you could borrow a PS5 and make a complete guide to all the settings please. I followed this video and gave it a try only thing is no crossplay has higher ping so often beaten more than without it seems. But last night was a new experience in BR Solos and I have recorded it and wondered if it would be even possible to stop the fact I met a team of 5 players running around destroying everyone in the lobby before killing each other at the end! Ive started looking up the players I die to in game. 99% of them are on PC. I’ve tried turning crossplay off but it takes 10-15 min to find a game and it usually only fills with about 30-40 players. Console gaming for Warzone is chalked 🤷‍♂️

Totally agree that disabling cross play is a good start. But getting rid of EOMM would also help. I believe people cheat because the game is always screwing with the game play experience and your connection.

Interesting video👍🏻 You say they should turn off crossplay and i agree. I play on ps5, and always turn off crossplay. But with the last update, season 2, they made it so i cant join my friends unless i turn crossplay ON! So we have to turn on crossplay, join eachother and then turn it off. We often forget this and sometimes we get funny stuff happening. We generally suck so i cant really tell if they cheat😂 But my point is that they're pushing it even more now than before so i think you're speaking to deaf ears 😢

Agreed. They need a Xbox/PS5 only mode. It seems as the game has improved, the cheaters have been back in full force. I play with friends on Xbox so we’re stuck with PC players and I’ve noticed a huge uptick in cheaters in the past few weeks. The playing field is already broken with all added mods and settings changes that PC players have, the cheating is getting out of hand. I get far too many lobbies filled with Chinese cheaters that have admitted to cheating to help others get skins, wins, or whatever. Just please get me out of the PC lobbies.

The cheating in COD speaks volumes about the community. Yes, Ricochet should work better but ultimately this is a community driven problem. Some really lame people playing this game.

Since Microsoft, who sells Windows and wants to promote Game Pass, now owns Call of Duty, there's no way they're going to allow turning turn off cross-play. It fragments the player base and increases queuing time. Since the majority of players aren't on PC, that's not good for Microsoft. They need a more aggressive anti-cheat alongside a "dispute" button. Maybe they should outsource their anti-cheat just like most other games.

I never thought i'd agree as a PC player but having played COD way back in the good ole days before crossplay I indeed do agree. Turn off Crossplay and give the PC players Dedicated servers back where we can run the server as required to keep it cheat free with Admin tools. Crossplay is broken on playstation. Since last friday the game broke there have been pc players in my lobbies even I have it turned off. In recent players it says that everyone is on playstation but its not true because there have been so many keyboard&mouse players and we have runned to couple cheaters which has happened never before the game broke.

Great video! I am a *PS5 player and always turn cross-play off. The problem is that after the first game, it's hard to find a match with it off unless you're playing during peak optimal hours. I'm located in Tampa, FL, and usually, I get frustrated when it takes more than five minutes to find a lobby, and I end up turning cross-play back on.

I've been saying this since MW2019, remove crossplay with PC. It's a terrible idea. I primarily play PUBG on console because of it (side note, it runs very well on this gen of consoles).

Any info on if killcams are bugged in resurgence ranked? My friends and a have seen a dozen of killcams where we got locked on to, but i genuinely dont know if its a bug with the killcam skipping information or people actually locking on.

I encounter cheaters every night in resurgence ranked and it’s blatantly obvious. Especially if they are iri or above. I’d say at least 5+ cheaters a night.

I understand that you are somebody who generally knows what they’re talking about but I can say with complete confidence, as somebody who plays on PS5 with cross play off and has done for well over a year and a half, there are still cheaters and it’s ramped up the past week or two. Usually these players are using keyboard and mouse and when reported, get kicked OR I get a “successful” notification a day or so later about a reported player being kicked.

Exactly what I did, stopped playing on my beast of a pc with M&K. and play Warzone on ps5 with cross-play off. Ps5 with lg c1 is pretty decent to be fair.

It doesn't work. A hell of a lot of the time the matchmaking struggles to find a lobby within a certain time frame and then it just chucks you in with PC players anyway, and the amount of pc cheaters even with crossplay off is horrendous.
