That was awesome. Thanks for this superb video. The one for me that was a huge letdown was taxi life. The steering wheel delay was a low blow. And once it came out after a year or so. Wasn’t even good. But that taught me a very important lesson. Never pre-order again. Wait and see. Thanks buddy

@ Yeah the steering and shifter is pretty brutal. I can’t believe I bought train life from them not knowing they made it. Xbox has a pretty abysmal return policy. That’s the thing with these developers. When they come up with a new game but leave a bad taste in consumers mouth with the previous game how do they expect that level of trust again?

Excellent video, Lee. So much of this stuff should never have seen the light of day. The police simulators look nearly as bad as the shop simulators, with their crappy robot police having ridiculously wooden discussions as they veer haphazardly all over the road. Quite funny, really. Selling them cheap doesn't mitigate how bad they are because you can get great games in sales for a tenner. By the way, I know you're going over to ETS2 and ATS because you're fed up with console driving sims, but I hope you also stick with the consoles because you do by far the best console sim content. Despite what I said about a week ago, I'm definitely a console person. I've half a dozen truck and bus games, and in their totality I'd rather have their variety than the limited content of ETS2 and ATS.

How true is all of what you said Lee. I’ve been toying with the idea of getting rid of my PlayStation and Xbox and getting a pc, just a money factor, they are not cheap, and at my age as a pensioner is it worth it? I enjoyed playing OTR, I wonder if it will be better with an update🤔 Also not so impressed with FS25, been put on hold with me till modders get releasing proper maps, giants base game maps are not good imo. Ground deformation 👎 AI, better but looks wierd, Slot count 👎 the list is long. Let’s hope all will become better. Thanks for your review Lee. Happy new year to you and your family. To get the best of pc gaming you do have to spend a bit of money unfortunately

I think you also have to remember that a purchase of a PC also gives you online gaming without the need to pay an annual subscription, better quality games, cheaper games, a greater variety of games, cheaper peripherals, a no quibbles refund policy and of course the ability to perform tasks that you simply cannot do on a console. Spending, say, £1000 on a PC might sound a tad expensive but if you get 5 years out of it then will it really be that much more expensive than a £450 console + 5 years worth of premium priced digital games + an XBL subscription throughout that period of time?

My best game of 2024 is Aerofly for Nintendo Switch. It's a full-fledged flight simulator that's hard to believe is on a handheld device. I had been hoping to purchase Microsoft Flight Simulator, but I kept postponing it since I don't own a PC or Xbox. This game has solved that problem for me. I look forward to future updates and developments for this wonderful title. It would be great if a serious flight simulator were announced for PlayStation as well.

I think that about sums up where we all are on consoles. My personal feeling was that 2024 was a 'bust' year...and for as long is it's the same old publishers churning out the same old low quality stuff, I really can't see things changing in 2025. So much so that I've already started weighing up the cost of switching to PC gaming. ok, so the bulk of what finds it's way onto consoles may well be equally as mediocre 'over there' - but at least they haven't been further ruined by a low effort port and therefore you get to play them as originally intended. Interesting though that you never mentioned Microsoft Flight Sim or Train Sim World.

The reason I didn't bring up flight Sim is was because it's a very niche sim, also I'm finding that people's experience with it varies across the board , some people are having issues some not ! TSW wasn't brought up as I'd rather not give that any spotlight at all

Well most of what you said is bang on the money mate, But Fern Bus I don't agree, And the reason is i actually got mine on PS5 to work very good indeed, i can't remember which updates i had on Cause i did take a couple off that broke my game, especially the last one where cars were flying in the air, I mean It's suppose to be a Coach sim, Not Back to the future, Or Blade runner Sim LOL. But with the ones i had on i had it running as good as the PC version, till i finished the game, And i thought, well i don't want to play it again as it is, It will be boring, So silly me i did put the last update on, And lost that really nice Menu screen with the cool Graphics sliders, And the graphics looked Awful, They ruined it, Not to mention Flying cars, And cars popping up out of nowhere LOL. And the other sim i Quite liked was taxi sim, Now that's quite a decent little game to be honest My friend, You make some great points though mate, And i agree with you Mr CGD.

I finally gave in mate, no word of ATS or ETS2 on console. Fucking atrocious sim releases all year on console. No more. Couldn't quite afford a PC just yet so rigged up my Nvidia Shield and Fire Stick with Boosteroid for about 7 quid a month (fantastic experience on my end, better than GFN) and been enjoying ATS, ETS and all the dlcs, in glorious 4K. Never again will I buy a console sim trucker. Happy new year. Love you. ❤👑

Personally I am only interested in the transport simulation games. Fortunately more and more is coming on the market for the PS5 but the quality can be better especially with the AI ​​there is a lot to improve. Games like Alaskan road truckers have a lot of potential but the bugs are often not fixed and that applies to several simulation games

Ok my Worst game was alaskan truckers I payed £24 for it can't remember now but that is a lot of money for me and no I won't be buying the skins ony 99p here and the second one they don't deserve my money sorry. I have deleted this game. Ok my best trucking game ever is on the road and Hevey Cago Truck Simulator because it just fantastic. Oh yes I am thinking about getting a pc and getting Euro truck Simulator 2 .I have had another of the Simulator games on ps4 and ps5. So it's pc time for me. Fantastic video lee

The Switch is notorious for absolute shite from Midnight Works, who crap out games under various other company names. Nintendo allow them to do it. You should follow Luke from SwitchStars who's covered/exposed their awful games and shady practices (including trying to get Luke's videos taken down by false copyright claims). Awful company to deal with.

2024 was a bust bruh. City Car Driving isn't getting updated anymore and so on. Trucks and logistics has lame updates, Taxi Life is alright, needs better updates. Fernbus simulator as well. Construction simulator is nice but the driving and handling needs to be updated and so on. Feels too quick and not slow enough or heavy enough. Fs25 is mid as heck. just FS22 with some graphical updates, want real game mechanic upgrades like the way vehicles are driven and the way things are just handled over all is kind of the same. Like it feels more arcade than sim like. Police simulator is mid and needs real updates, the bugs in that game are more so annoying than funny or fun. Police highway patrol is just an UE5 copy and past rip off it seems, and that heavy trucking game seems neat and all but you're mainly driving alone and not with traffic which would be neat.

Excellent video, Lee. Some real shockers amongst that lot. You missed a plethora of shit titles but the video would’ve been several hours long. Forgive me for being pessimistic but I don’t see things improving in 2025. I completely agree , I can't see there being an improvement , from what I saw last year a lot of the good indie / simulation games came from small / single Devs , who don't , have publishers pushing unfinished garbage out the door for a quick return !

A lot of these simulation games are shovel Ware unfortunately, just look at Nintendo switch, it done exactly what the WII U did, allow this crap to pop up, there's even bloody hentai now on the switch, and for a console that's directed mainly at kids, that's not acceptable!
