I believe that slowing down on the release of new Town Halls is pivotal to the game’s longevity. It used to be every 18- 24 months to give players a chance to catch up to the newer THs, but with it being shorter now it feels much harder to grind, and new THs don’t feel as special.

It literally does not matter. The catchup speed and overall build time is fine tuned to making the most money. You wont catch up any faster if there is almost 2 years between new TH levels, theyll just take longer each.

The new town halls are also rushed and less exciting as before and how rapid it is now they’re killing off the buildings and by 2030 we’re gonna have 2 or 3 of every building making defences less unique and just as special as every other defence being prioritised making the lower town halls more enjoyable and simplistic

One thing that I've noticed this year with clash of clans is how buggy a lot of stuff has been on release. The treasure chests had issues, updates had issues, and everything seemed like it needed to be patched after it was updated. I know this happens in games, included COC, but 2024 was the first year that I noticed it having an impact on how much i enjoyed playing the game. Edit: As a veteran player, it didn't impact me too much but I imagine this type of thing being very frustrating for a new player who might then not stick around

well, it is an old game that hadn't changed much previously. Trying to introduce new features and bring it up to par with the current generation of games will cause bugs. Hopefully these are just one-time bugs though.

I don't even know if any new players are joining coc. All the new bases being created are old players and mostly yt getting alt accounts to create a upgrade series of videos on yt. I mean when I joined th11 was max but somehow I got going. Nowadays a new player sees esports and yt using all sorts of pets and equipments and fancy seige machines but from th1 they simply have so so much more to do just to even get a hero, forget about seige, equipment, pets etc etc

About the unlimited heroes event, what a lot of people seem to forget is that event was in july, but the last update that add hero levels was in december, which meant that most of higher lever players had already upgrade their heroes to max lvl, they should do a event like that in january, then they would have real numbers to look at

Tbh i think this may have been an experimental year for them. Trying new mechanics, adding new features and equipment and troops and spells shows how much they wanna revolutionize and make the game better, more fun and have a lot of content but at the same time not making it too complex for new or returning players. Im hoping next year they can implement the feedback given by the community and improve certain parts to make it more enticing.

I do like the added complexity and variety of equipment a lot but supercell clearly pushed for an extremely grindy (cashgrab) new mechanic on all their games. On cr it's evolutions, on brawlstars it's hyper charges on coc it is hero equipment. Besides brawl stars to a lesser degree, they all made their respective games massively more pay to win

It was overall very good but at the end it was not as per expectations, especially the 25th was worst day. It would have been completely fine if they didn't create any hype for single chest but instead hyped for a single chest which is absolutely nothing. The majority of playerbase got nothing from the chests through December and it never felt to them that it was "Christmas" In game. Only solution was to ensure everyone of us got something good instead of highly luck based single chest. If they never created any hype nobody would even pay any mind to whatever they did recently, hope they don't do upsetting things like this in future

Merging the Eagle Artillery with the Town Hall was by far the worst decision of the whole year. Plus, there was really no need to move the Giga Bomb out-it makes attacking the Town Hall way too easy and not at all punishing.

The worst thing about hero hall is that, during the th12-th13 transition the townhall boosts that u get i.e. max heroes for 5 days will be missed by the royal champion as the 4th slot wont open until you upgrade the hero hall. So instead of attacking with 4 heroes u hv to with only 3.

Absolutely agree about the epic equipment, they released it too much too often but it is so much better after they backpedal and giving it a break, unlike royale which i play both. every month a new game changing evolution is really hard to catch up, while in clash of clan it doesn't change interaction with how i play with the equipment that much

We get very few glory and starry ore from war, and also from the star bonus daily, its hard for FTP players to max out equipment; they should give more glory and starry ore from war. And they should bring events to grind for ores.

Starry ore is the bottleneck, lets assume youre maxed Th16 (otherwise it doesnt really matter anyway) and play for all of 2025: 365 war attacks and say 50 cwl attacks, a conservative 60% winrate, which is 249 won and 166 lost. 249 * 6 = 1494 166 * 3 = 498 ----------------------- 1992 starry ore from wars and CWL weekly offers for raid medals: 52 * 2 * 5 = 520 lets assume 6 events, theres the event shop: 6 * 6 * 10 = 360 Which is an additional 880 starry ore or 2872 starry ore. Maxing out an epic costs 480 starry ore, allowing you to completly max out almost 6 epics per years. I personally do think thats more than reasonable.

people who dont play every single day will always be left behind with the equipment and levels. The game meta wise is in a solid spot almost every single army is viable provided you have a high enough levels on equipment. CWL needs to have it to where there is no draw system. It has to go to time per hit like esports. Also legends needs to be fixed. No more missed defenses. You miss a defense you lose -40 trophies because there is way too much luck involved in that. Same thing with the player range that hits you. top 200 players only can get hit by top 200. It is insane that I could reset that high and get hit by players 100s of trophies below me. Judo since you are pushing this month Im sure you have either gotten hit by people who should have hit you or are htting players who are so much lower than you. At the highest level and upper ranks anyone who gets a day like this where they have lower players hitting them instantly gets a boost that is ridiculous. In regular clan war if both clans perfect both need to get full amount of ores. It is almost impossible to win a war if you spin a breakdown of all max ths. Its a tie every single time. New perks for clan levels. Give us a 7 min time to request. If i have boost pass and am boosting i cant request in time much less if we have the 30% from an event too. Im sure there is a bunch of other things i cant think of off the top of my head. Stuart needs to step it up.

Unlimited heroes coming back would help my clan and I out so much. I liked being able to upgrade my heroes behind the scenes and still be able to play with them and upgrade my base along the way. It helped me speed through TH9 and into TH10!

I do have one problem with them adding new townhalls every year, is that it feels like you'll never ever max out or get to play at the top level if you're not already there because they'll always add more townhalls and you can't possibly get through all of them before there are way more

I got burned out on the game back when I was a TH 14 when TH 15 dropped. But when they dropped the chest event it got me back into the game. If they keep changing things up and offering rewards I think the game will stay active.

If only you have to complete the achievements, I would recommend lowering your trophies. It will mostly give you pretty rushed th16 bases or th15max bases. Depends on how many trophies you loose

Supercell is aware of this but I’m unsure if/when they will fix it. Someone asked abt it on twitter and the account incorrectly stated that destroying a th17 counts towards the achievement. They soon backtracked and corrected themselves, but did not give any indication of whether they intend to change how it works or not.

2024 was the best clash year of all time! They can't come out with new equipment fast enough for me lol. You don't need to max everything out, but it's nice to have something to work towards, besides defenses and walls. The equipment adds new things to get and strategies to the game all the time. Equipment is what kept me playing Clash and loving it even more now.

Looking back , I think supercell wanted to make more frequent updates by adding more epic equipments to keep it fresh. However it seemingly backfire which causes us to have bimonthly additions for epic equipments. Tbh I actually would liked them to add epic equipments monthly as they are very fun as long as they can make it less grindy for ores and easier to catch up/less punishing for players who didn’t have the new equipment. The way we earn ores till now is very passively and it is actually a lot when calculating however when they released equipments they should’ve provide us with a burst in ores at least more than what we have now and slowly turn back to what we are earning now

My overall thoughts on the state of Clash in general is that it has lost what made it fun, but that's due to the market rather than the game. Fortnite showed that constant new content brings players and money, but to me Clash was always a simple game. Now Clash has far too much going on, takes too long and if you don't keep up to date with the events/ new content you are left behind and it is too much work to learn/ catchup when this is simply a casual mobile game.

Your hope and insight gave me some hope. I have been feeling recently that the game is starting to drag (no pun intended). When you look at how the team has taken the focus away from strategy and poured more resources into expansion, ease of access, and in-game monetization, you realize their strategy seems to be to open to playing field to different player-types, not to build a good game and have faith that players will support it. It’s the angle with which their addressing issues that breeds more issues. The game realistically should get progressively harder. There have been TOO many nerfs to the town hall weapon and defenses leading up to the TH17 update… now the new town hall weapon and removal of the eagle and giga poison is extremely underwhelming. Allowing players to rush without at least upgrading certain defense to a certain level (similar to how you cannot upgrade your capital hall without meeting the quota for necessary upgrades) will be the demise of the game. 1.) They are pretty much mandating that players max their defense anyways (all defenses eventually merging) 2.) They introduced that requirement wayyy too late into the game. The simplicity of receiving a new king tower level after accumulating the necessary experience to evolve it, is why competitive games like CR will prevail for years. If the game had mandated building upgrades before town hall upgrades, there would have been a much more balanced competitive environment. It doesn’t seem feasible since the team can’t seem to balance lab, hero, and building times at each town hall anyways. The game is good and has probably the best quality animations, mechanics, interactions, with respect to its counterparts, but the implementation of progression is sloppy. I’ve said once that I think it’d be a great idea to remove Legend League sign-up and create a separate ranked league that doesn’t involve trophies like multiplayer, similarly to the different game modes of CR or BrawlStars. That implementation in tandem with mandating upgrades before town hall upgrades, would create better pacing and a healthier, more balanced environment overall. I admire that you are insightful and appreciative of the dev team’s innovative ideas this past year, Judo… but I think if the game ought to continue, there are prevalent issues that have yet to be addressed. The ones I’ve shared are just the tip of the iceberg.

I really feel like the thing that would bring players back is focusing more on clans themselves. When I started playing clash back in 2015, the best part was the clan engagement and feeling like whether we won or loss it was still fun. I think more events for clan to do together and I know that clan capital never really took off the way they wanted, but I've always imagined a war where everyone helps put together 1 big base and all members go against another clan who put together a big base. Then all having to be on and take the base out at the same time, like a legendary battle 🤣

I think it would be ideal to increase the radius of the town hall's defense in order to help with the "weakness" of the town hall. The current radius isnt necessarily bad, but the loss of the eagle's range is quite significant. Perhaps expanding somewhere from 4-8 tiles more.

Probably faster Hero upgrade. People just more and more not using Hero because they stuck at it. This still problem and no one can't change my mind. At least until COC actually have 6-8 Hero. Takes more time but at least u have option.

The thing is how would you nerf the boots? You can use level 15 of the boots and get the same result just a bit slower. Supercell really needs to improve their testing team.

They can reduce the damage dealt to buildings, if the purpose was to kill skeletons. I honestly use the boots just to clear buildings thanks to the invisible spell 😂 so that's what I think could be a big nerf

Something that could be nice is if you could either fast forward attacks or if you used all your things you could have it auto finish like it is when you close the game.

Edit: The problem was solved! Support system still sucks though :( One thing I want to see for sure is a better support system. I lost an account a week or so ago because the game wouldn’t load my account. I’ve spent quite a bit of money on that account and the support system is terrible. They literally got to a point where they told me that they just can’t help me. It’s mostly automated which doesn’t help. Playing on an alt now, hopefully it works someday.

I like your optimism, but am glad you are calling out the issues as well. I get that a much easier meta might be better for the game's health since the majority of the player base is made up of the casual players, but its tough for the smaller group that likes to push and strategize more. I am not a fan of "hard mode" as a feature to try and combat this issue, I dont know if I have the right words to explain why, but it feels tacked on, like not actually part of the game; more like a fake or made-up version of the actual game. I dont know what the solution is either, but I hope more focus is put towards that now that they have achieved the easy meta for the majority of the player base. For me personally, I still see TH17 and being even easier than TH16 which was too easy IMO. Merging the Eagle with the Town Hall results in a nerf to the Town Hall combined with the loss of the Eagle?! Insane. At least add the Town Hall explosion and poison back, maybe that will be enough to better balance the meta...though these Hero equipments are so strong I dont know if the game will ever be able to find a good balance again. I know they are cool and create new fun ways to play, but they are also too powerful (for those who know how to use them, unlike the people that use fireball in a spam attack) and lead to a boring competitive scene in Legends and pro tournaments. Pros having to win matches solely based on time vs stars/percent destruction achieved (since every attack is a 3-star) is ridiculous.

I think its still too early to say if th17 is too easy. not everyone is maxed and th17 isn't even finished so i'd be patient to seeing how difficult it gets

I do think we need hard mode option for regular wars and legend league, the skill gap in the community is too huge and there is always endless discussion whether the game is too easy or too hard. I want it hard but there is no place in the game to play because entering pro environment is not a realistic option for full time worker. However, current version of hard mode is so lazily made, they only capped the level for all equipment. They need to tailor the nerf for each equipment because not everyone of them is broken.

​@@robmarth2226 What do you think about changing it from "hard mode" which is like a setting switch, to something like "Legend Status". It would function that once you enter Legends league, you obtain "Legend Status" and that means you enter into the "hard mode" state of the game. For CWL, the Champs leagues are all automatically Legend Status regardless of if you are in Legends league or not. But, players who want to play the game in Legend Status difficulty (and there should be greater rewards for playing in Legend Status) then even their regular war hits will be in "hard mode", and their CWL hits too if they are not in Champs league, so they can keep consistency of play throughout the game.

in my opinion, this year has been great overall, but if there's 1 bad thing that i want to point out is definitely the hero hall upgrade. i dont mind if that building need resources to upgrade, but the fact that we cant upgrade our heroes immediately but instead we need to upgrade the hero hall first which took at more than 1 days. its frustrating. I definitely agreed with you on 23:05 where it should not need a builder / a timer for it to upgrade since previously, we get the hero instantly. Only needed resources which is technically cheaper now since you dont need dark elixir to get your king, queen, and RC for the first time. only needed elixir to get them. Overall. Great year, but please just remove the need of a builder / timer for the hero hall. Its annoying and definitely wasted a lot of time. Especially when they put a lot on focus on reducing the upgrade timer. Note : Im sorry if i butcher a lot of the words, english is not my main language

I am playing this game for 10 years and it is one of the best ever. Best thing for me was the events that broke the monotonous times and the updates were actual updates instead of adding useless super troops(looking at you super miner update) Only thing i disliked was too many events were with new equpiment and think there should be more meta changes with troops

Coc was already grossing very high (especially for a mobile game) Tencent trying to milk players and monetize at every possible opportunity really turned the game into a massive net negative (in players eyes, they still make money obviously)

I do agree that with th16 being somewhat breath of fresh air, mostly due to the fact that i was still haven't got any usable army. With th16, I was able to have a stable army that no one uses and i do hope they make some changes to some of the super troops

I will say this. It was really bad when clash was trying to block some content creators channels just because they disagreed with them especially on the pay to win. I think this is one of the reasons some creators like you open a second channel. Also some eSports team selection were not clear. To be fair it seems like they listen a bit the the community as well on this occasion. Most of us stopped spending money on their shop as protest. Always great content 👍

Air defense: multi shot Xbow: only air with the range of only ground Cannon: mega cannon Mortar: lava launcher The main village would become way more customizable, right now everyone has the same defenses of everyone else, beside very few defenses (inferno, spell)

The constant update is what overwhelmed me. I stopped playing after the month of may as I see the pattern of events. They release a new hero equipment through an event to get ores, you'll feel like you need to get the event pass, challenges, in order to not miss out and so on. I love coc but as a casual player I felt like the game is overwhelmingly progressing with its monthly updates making it almost a play-to-win game to get ores and upgrade equipments. I cant keep up with that. Us casual players felt like being forced to play the game as we dont wanna miss some things out of course. I started playing again this december and man, I missed a lot! They need to make ores easier to obtain!

12:05 - People being able to raid, battle, loot, upgrading their heroes, while being upgraded, how did that not result in players being more active? Supercell shooting it down like that without any info to why is a pretty big red flag on what they want vs what the people want. I was playing more, i raided more, i did join all wars i could, and i had way more fun, because i could use my heroes while upgrading. Heroes being available while upgrading means more time to use them, where as it is now, heroes being upgraded are not usable which mean less Incentive to play. How this logic is not what Supercell wanted, or was looking for, i can not understand, or they simply wanted more people to play, which is ofc okay but again look at the playerbase who actually increased their gametime while it lasted.

It failed for another reason like DARK ELIXIR IS LIMITED IF THEY 2X OR 3X PRODUCTION CAPACITY LIKE HAMMER JAM HOPE IT WORKED BECAUSE NORMALLY YOU CAN GET 6-7K DARK IF ITS NOT 3 STAR NO GUARANTEE YOU GET ALL OF IT AND ITS BECOME HARD OR BURNOUT TO FARM 100S OF THOUSAND DARK FOR EACH HERO

One thing that you didn't mention is that there were soo many bugs happening in the game after every update, my clan's war streak was broken,I lost a lot of potions and books cuz of those and many other players also did and yes it's true that they apologized for those and also gave us some of those potions back but still the loss and frustration from these bugs is just💥

Meta always change.. n they constantly nerf / buff equip Better to wait "meta" of ur liking and start going all in. For example : I'm mainly air attackers - I'm good with mostly common equipment but if I want to use king it would be : Spiky ball Which I don't have cuz I'm starting over just only in November 😂 N current offer : giant gauntlet , frozen arrow isn't appealing for me So I'm taking electro- I'm already know that RC walks is very strong atm so my only starry ore from onward only going into one epic equipment Simple right?
