The problem with those teams, is that when they Drafted Rodgers, Love, Mahomes is that they already had a competent QB. The franchise was not in shambles when the next QB was drafted, so the necessity of success on the rookie contract is not there. The rookie contract for QB's is the biggest window teams have to compete because you can stack the deck with a top flight QB and surround him with talent with all the money you're saving, and its why you notice all these QB's regress as soon as they get paid because they lose the wealth of talent that was surrounding them. For a bad team that isn't contending, they can't afford to waste the QB rookie contract window, because as soon as the QB gets paid, the window is instantly closed. No team has won giving their QB a massive contract except for Kansas City, and Mahomes takes a pay cut.

Benching him for checking out cause he’s tired is absolutely not an overreaction. QB supposed to lead team. Smirking while saying it too is cherry on top. 300lb lineman playing every snap. Some of y'all need to stop with this quit on the team mess. It's entirely possible this young man realized over his time in the league so far that he needs to improve in some areas before he should be the QB. IF the catalyst to all this ends up being a high level of self awareness on Richardson's part to pull himself and vocalize that he feels he needs to progress differently. Whether tapping out or not was the right move, MAYBE he just didn't know how to do it any other way than to "make a big deal" so people would take him seriously when he says he's not ready HIMSELF to be on the field. Let this young man be human! Thank y'all who did speak to the human side of how difficult this is on AR-15 too.

They act like Aaron Rodgers didn’t backup Favre. Sad reality is even top picks aren’t ready, yeah it sucks but look at Geno Smith & Darnold. Two separate journeys, never fit or worked out early on but AR has shown flashes. Indy has weapons, Flacco’s processes everything faster and for the obvious reason. Let AR sit and learn, he can learn by watching and if he doesn’t get rid of him

Unfortunately I think it is. You would love to allow a guy to work through his mistakes. The Bills could have given up on Josh Allen with how bad he looked his first year. Problem is, AR simply does not even look like he can complete a pass right now. His running hasn’t been all that impressive right now, and he still doesn’t seem to know how to protect himself. I still think he’s the future of the franchise, but he needs to sit and learn for the rest of the season. I think that press conference was probably also the cherry on top in terms of his teammates trusting him.

Nah...AR looked terrible. His footwork was terrible. He missed open receivers because he wasn't planting his feet. He wasn't making the right decisions.

Last year, lots of fans and critics wanted AR to sit behind a veteran QB that would have been Minshew, bad idea as of this season. Sorry, Raiders. Now he can sit behind Flacco, who is a better QB compared to Minshew. Last year I wanted him to play more for reps and still do, but with what happened Sunday I think he should sit to see how Flacco preps and handles stress that AR is going to keep dealing with. I'm still behind AR and hope we keep Flacco for how long he still wants to play.

No one seems to be talking about how on some level this could be a coaching issue. Play design should better consider a players talents. I know he's missing in the flat too but the short pass game should be better developed by the coaches. I believe more players are ruined by coaching than lack of talent.

Analysts really trying to suggest this is an overreaction to the tap out and NOT predominantly 44.4% completion percentage. Yes, obviously the tap out played into this, but to suggest the 44% is not really that big of deal or a reason to be benched is wild. Anyone else this happens too, you'd say yea he sucks and is a bust.

Richardson is NOW my favorite player. Think about the Colts drafting him knowing his lack of football he's played .... So this is going to be funny and hey, you cannot let a young man see certain women with their clothes off, they'll run out of that house and not look back. Certain women are so alluring, the guy gets overwhelmed and wants to grow and develop into something like that ... trust me, she'll be around later or you'll get someone better. He should play for the Cowboys, that would be groundbreaking and even more hilarious. I love guys like this, just like Jameis Winston, the guy was a walking turnover in Tampa when they had that championship team and all of their games were funny and entertaining because you'd see things happen that would be like a blooper reel and you have to love guys like that who provide actual entertainment. Jameis Winston and this guy Richardson, my favorite players, you are going to be entertained watching them play. I cannot watch Dak Prescott play quarterback because he's too frustrating to watch; he's Rex Grossman like in Chicago, I cannot watch that guy.

I get what Dan is trying to show with the drops, but every week multiple QBs around the league have dropped passes. Its part of football, Its alright to admit AR hasn't played well. The blame should entirely be on the Colts not on the player. You don't choose where or how high you get drafted. These question about AR been around since his College days, we aren't learning anything new.

It's hard to let him develop when he's not playing? Uhh, we have tons of history where young qbs sit and watch behind a veteran qb until he's ready to get on the field. The problem is the owners and their garbage win now philosophy. Sometimes, you have to suck and let the young guys develop slowly instead of just throwing them into the wolves. Not everyone is going to be Stroud.
