Quran is a miracle and the verses concerning Dhul Qarnayn prove it. According to verses 89-91 Dhul Qarnayn says: "Give me pieces (blocks) of iron;” then, when he had filled up the gap between the two mountain-cliffs, he said: “Blow;” then when he had made them (red as) fire, he said: “Bring me molten copper to pour over them.” This method of tying blocks of stone together with molten metal staples was exclusive to the 6th Century BCE Persians. Blocks of stone with indentations for pouring the metal staples are found in the construction of Cyrus the Great's tomb at Pasargadae.

Imam Baqir (as) said: “Zul-Qarnayn was not a prophet, but he was a righteous man whom Allah loved. He enjoined his people to piety. It happened that people knocked on one side of his head. After that, he disappeared for a length of time. Then he returned and repeated his invitation again. People struck another knock on the other side of his head. Therefore, because of those two knocks, he had been known as Zul-Qarnayn.”

There is no evidence that Dhu al-Qarnain was Alexander. Pseudo-Callisthenes doesn't know anything about the matter of Gog and Magog and Dhu al-Qarnain. "Alexander Romance" is not the name of a real book. The oldest manuscript that attributes the deeds of Dhu al-Qarnain to Alexander is from the 1700-1800's and titled by the translator "A Christian legend Concerning Alexander." It's clearly post Islamic based on internal evidence as well as manuscript evidence.

Dzulqarnain was Cyrus the Great. Dzulqarnain means two horns which are the two empires of Media and Lydia that Cyrus conquered and united them to form the Archaemenid empire. Cyrus was also revered by the Jews and he was prophesied to come by the prophet Jeremiah and Isaiah 200 years before he was born. During his reign as the king of the Archaemenid empire he conquered Babylon and released the many Jews who were exiled there after Nebuchednezar destroyed the first temple. He also funded the building of the second temple of Jerusalem after he conquered Babylon. Such was the honour bestowed on him that he is called the messiah in the Old Testament, the only gentile to have this honour. Further testament to Cyrus being Dzulqarnain of the Quran is the fact that Dzulqarnain ( ذا القرنين ) is mentioned by name in the Arabic bible that is in the book of Daniel chapter 8:20 which reads ‎20 اما الكبش الذي رأيته ذا القرنين فهو ملوك مادي وفارس. The ram which you saw, having the two horns-they are the kings of Media and Persia. This is the only time that Dzulqarnain is mentioned in the bible in the same manner as the Quran and it clearly refers to Cyrus the great. The historicity or sirah of the story of Dzulqarnain also points towards Cyrus the Great as the questions posed to Prophet Muhammad by the Arab Jews of Medinah through the Mecca Quraish clearly relates to someone that they, the Arab Jews knew from their scripture as Dzulqarnain would be only seen in their Arabic bible and not even in the Hebrew bible. Another interesting fact about Cyrus is the fact that he lived at the same time as prophet Danial and it would not be unfathomable to theorise that Cyrus was being advised by prophet Danial and also follows his teachings in terms of religious belief. Hence Cyrus maybe worshiping the One true God Allah as alluded in the Quran. For these reasons, I believe makes Cyrus the Great the most likely candidate for Dzulqarnain in the Quran

Jesus taught that there is only One God and Only God should be worshipped as taught in Deut 6:4, Mark 12:29. Muslims also believe this as taught in the Qur’an verse 4:171. 2. Jesus didn’t eat pork as taught in Leviticus 11:7, and neither do Muslims as taught in the Qur’an verse 6:145. 3. Jesus greeted with the words “as salaamualaikum” (Peace be with you) in John 20:21. Muslims also greet each other this way. 4. Jesus always said “God Willing” (inshallah), Muslims say this too before doing anything as taught in the Qur’an verses 18:23-24. 5. Jesus washed his face, hands, and feet before praying. The Muslims do the same. 6. Jesus and other prophets of the Bible offerd prayer with their head to the ground (see Matthew 26:39). Muslims do too as taught in the Qur’an verse 3:43. 7. Jesus had beard and wore a throbe. It is Sunnah for Muslim men to do the same. 8. Jesus followed the law and believed in all the prophets, (see Matthew 5:17). Muslims do too as taught in the Qur’an verses 3:84, and 2:285. 9. Jesus’ mother Maryam dressed modestly by fully covering her body and wearing a headscarf (hijab) as found in 1 Timothy 2:9, Genesis 24:64-65, and Corinthians 11:6. Muslim women modestly dress the same as taught in the Qur’an verse 33:59. 10. Jesus and other prophets of the Bible fasting up to 40 days (see Exodus 34:28, Daniel 10:2-6, Kings 19:8, and Matthew 4:1- Muslims do so also during the month of Ramadan. Muslims are required to fast the full obligatory 30 days (see Qur’an 2:183), and others take it a step further by fasting an additional 6 days to increase their rewards. 11. Jesus taught to say “Peace to this house” when entering it (see Luke 10:5), and to also greet the people in the house with “peace be unto you”. Muslims do exactly what Jesus did and taught. When we enter our homes and the homes of others we say “Bismillah” and also greet with "as salaamu alaikum” (peace be upon you) as taught in the Qur’an verse 24:61. 12. Jesus was circumcised. Circumcision is 1 of the 5 fitrah in Islam, so Muslim men are required to be circumcised. According to the Bible in Luke 2:21, Jesus was eight days old when he was circumcised. In the Torah, Allah/God stated to the Prophet Abraham that it is an “Everlasting covenant” (see Genesis 17:13). In the Qur’an verse 16:123 Muslims are required to follow the religion of Abraham. The Prophet Muhammad said, “The Prophet Abraham circumcised himself when he was eighty years old.” 13. Jesus spoke aramaic and called God ”Elah”, which is pronounced the same as “Allah”. Aramaic is an ancient, Biblical language. It is one of the Semitic languages that also include Hebrew, Arabic, Ethiopic and the ancient Assyrian and Babylonian language of Akkadian. The Aramaic”Elah” and the Arabic “Allah” are the same. The Aramaic “Elah” is derived from the Arabic “Allah”, and it means “GOD”. “Allah” in Arabic also means”GOD”, the Supreme GOD Almighty. Salaam great video. Historical records point to Dhu Qarnayn actually being the Himyarite King Yusuf Dhu Nawas . A spiritual and political thrust came out of South Arabia 3rd century ce . Their mantra was Rahman a principle attribute of Allah , the Merciful . Note another Himyarite Asad started the practice of covering the Kaba with Kiswah casket cloth.
