I’m judging on playing in a far tougher league,has far more to his game than mbappe. We’ve seen many a great player come to the prem and not cut it. Mbappe may prove me wrong over his career but to put him and haaland there now is too soon. Recency bias in modern football dictates players only need a few months or a season to be deemed world class . It used to be you had to perform at a level consistently for a few years to get near that title

GOAT: Pele, R9 Elite: Henry, Suarez, Zlatan, Lewandowski, Benzema World Class: everyone else although Kane probably moves up once he's done it a bit longer and won trophies with Bayern, same with Haaland if he keeps on his current trajectory and Mbappe is basically dependent on him doing it in another league one day. Good: Anelka, Tevez. You could make an argument for Son too because I think he's a world class player but not a world class striker. He's been playing striker this season but he struggles against low blocks, doesn't have elite hold up play etc. In a "player's list" he'd be in world class. In a striker's list I'd probably have him in the good tier. You could maybe make an argument for Torres being in good too because his prime wasn't long enough and he dropped off a cliff in his peak years with no excuse really (unlike R9's injuries) but he was world class in his prime so I see both arguments. Most of the players in this video were fsirly indistinguishable. Some were elite finishers and had great numbers, others were all round CFs who had good holdup play etc. Some had short but high peaks, some had longevity. Some won lots of trophies, some won nothing but scored lots. That's why I'd seperete the top few that had everything (numbers, peak, longevity, all rpund play, trophies, skill etc) as well as the bottom few and then put the majority in world class.

Zlatan had incredible ability, mind you, he's 6'5 and still had brazilian skills, a powerful shot and athleticism ... spending most of his years in serie A, he won two league titles with Juventus, three titles with Inter and two titles with Milan, winning the golden boot twice, a record holder, together with Pirlo of best player in serie a three times plus best foreign player in serie a four times. Just because he didn't win the Champions League and came to the EPL at age 35 doesn't merit him to be below Harry Kayne in this list. This really bugs me, the bias of it all!
