Bright Guardian Akira I agree Silverstream going to sunning rocks was a bit of a reckless choice. But in Crookedstar’s promise many queens died. This minion detail just shows us that queens and kits usually don’t make it during birth. Fish could be a reason for this as it doesn’t give much energy and stregth. Idk thought I’d point it out.

I don’t exactly agree with the Silverstream manipulating Graystripe. She had definitely not meant to do that. This is greatly proven at the manga at the end of Crookedstar’s Promise Novella. Crookedstar gets defensive about his daughter when catching her with Graystripe, and Silverstream gets upset, telling Crookedstar, “ Graystripe is a great and worthy warrior. If the warrior code can’t deal with this, maybe the warrior code needs to change.” Silverstream definitely loved him and cared about him more than the code she is meant to follow.

This was my comment. I agree btw. : I'm not in love with this video, mostly because of the view on GrayxSilver. Yes, of course, Silverstream was beautiful but also had a beautiful personality. At the time she had many flaws and was still Naive, Young and dumb (Like her decision to leave camp to find grey stripe to kit) I doubt she just wanted manipulation since she was not smart or mean enough too that, plus grey stripe made the first move and if Silverstream wanted manipulations he would have known that she may have been able to win grey stripe over and she would have made the first move.

I know you’re worried because you love me, and I love you too, I’ll always be your daughter. But you have to let me choose my own future.” - Silverstream to Crookedstar. I think Silverstream truly loved Graystripe. I always thought Graystripe was a jerk in the first series (excluding Into the Wild) but after that, I thought he was a noble warrior. But I agree with you about him being a jerk to Fireheart, it was rude and disrespectful of Graystripe to do that to him.

Gray stripe wasnt mean in "Into The Wild" I'd say Shadow clan was. They broke the warrior code when Broken star was around.

Yeah, I think its a bit of a stretch to believe Silverstream INTENTIONALLY tried making Graystripe disloyal for RiverClan's benefit. Its pretty clear that they did benefit, but that was a side effect and rather than a mastermind by Silverstream. As for what she did love about him- Silverstream does seem to like how silly and dorky Graystripe is, and this is a bit of speculation, but since she was the clan leader's daughter, it could be possible that RiverClan suitors her age treated her with special consideration because of it. Graystripe may have been one of the first cats to act more genuine and vulnerable around her. In Firestar's perspective it would seem as though Silverstream was using him, but I think its actually a bit of the other way around. Some speculation about Graystripe's own motives- Graystripe was heavily affected by accidentally murdering a RiverClan warrior. Its important to remember that he and Firestar were made warriors a bit early because of their bravery with Brokenstar, and they just got back from a secret mission that they were chosen for. Graystripe barely has time to process any of this before he's suddenly assigned an apprentice (and an underage one at that). This is a lot of responsibility that's thrust on Graystripe and Firestar all at once. There's a reason someone made the joke that Warriors could be called Worriers- Fireheart is an anxious mess. Personally if I was Graystripe and I was already grieving the fact that I just accidentally killed someone, my leader suddenly assigning me and underage apprentice- which is exactly what they chased Brokenstar off to begin with- just to make me feel better would really piss me off. Graystripe had to have been in a bitter mindset in some regard. I'd definitely feel better about him blowing off Brackenfur's training if he'd intentionally done it because he and Cinderpelt shouldn't have been apprenticed so early in the first place. Maybe this feeling is exasperated even more after Cinderpelt's injury. But anyway- about Silverstream. Now obviously Graystripe falls head-over-heels for this pretty buff she cat who saves his life, but I think there could have been more to it than that. In the books he seemingly forgets about his guilt, but I think if they had explored the concept of him being drawn to RiverClan because of it would have made his motivations more sympathetic. Not only does he not see anything wrong with his relationship with Silverstream, but he views their friendship as his way of making amends to RiverClan. The fact that this RiverClan cat seems to have forgiven him makes him feel more hopeful of ending hostilities between their Clans at large. This is part of the reason why he's so willing to help Silverstream feed RiverClan in secret. Firestar sees the difficulty of having torn loyalties in their first battle, but Graystripe stubbornly still believes their love could do no harm. Silverstream is probably convinced of this as well. He doesn't see anything wrong with what he's been doing until its too late. After Silverstream's death the old guilt wound is reopened again, because now he has caused the premature deaths of TWO RiverClan cats. He doesn't want to simply give his kits back, because that will mean he will have to fight them eventually, and he's tired of fighting RiverClan. (Although I do think the same thing will play out with him being unable to fight Firestar and being exiled for it.) Sidenote: I wish we'd get to see more of Mosspelt, Feathertail and Stormfur's foster mom. Additional tallies for IS GRAYSTRIPE BAD FRIEND? to consider: Good: 1 - Basically all of Into the Wild, he's a golden friend. Sticking up for his new friend against his old friends, eating two whole mice in a row to cover Firepaw from Tigerstar despite being completely full, helping Ravenpaw escape, helping Firepaw defeat Brokentail, etc. 2 - He supports Fireheart when he brings Cloudkit to ThunderClan. 3 - He graciously accepts not being deputy anymore (might be a no-brainer since it was nepotism for him to be appointed deputy in the first place but you know its better than what Mudclaw did) Bad: 1 - (Speculative: He was better friends with Sandstorm and Dustpelt before Rusty joined the clan, and although initially rejecting them for their treatment of Firestar was noble, he never seems to hang out with them much once Firestar has earned their respect) 2 - He doesn't believe Ravenpaw's story and brushes Fireheart off when he's still trying to figure it out. 3 - He's kind of a jerk about Millie being a kittypet at first even though his best friend was a kittypet??? Bonus - "I'm so proud of my daughter, Mistystar" dghakdsjghaksj Bramblestar's Storm was a MISTAKE

I still like Greystripe. Yes he made mistakes, but that's the point. If he was perfect, what was the point? Not to mention, love is a very powerful thing. He changed a lot as a character and became considerably more loyal to ThunderClan as time went on, but at the same time, he was loyal to his kits. But can you blame him? At the end of the day, they're still his kits. I think he got better and better, and greystripe is just a fun guy

I mean you do make a lot of points, but Silverstream being evil and using him? No, that doesn't make sense to me, especially when you see how she acts at the end of Crookedstar's promise. Gray is my all time favorite character, and something I love about him is that he's not perfect. Sure he acts like a jerky in Fire and Ice and Forest of Secrets. But he learns after that. He's young and let's face it, stupid at times. But that's what makes his character so great, I find him relatable and a funny, cute character. And the hole drama with Fireheart and their friendship just builds on their characters as a hole. It really shows how no matter what stuff your friends do or believe, they will always be there for you. I believe Gray was a great friend for Fireheart.

I agree with you, really and Silverstream would never do that, as they did love each other, and Greystripe would NEVER give so his kits, so he left for Riverclan, while Firestar doesn't really care for him as much as Silversteam did, or ever will. Greystripe broke the warrior code TO BE HAPPY and in my opinion breaking the warrior code is bad at some times, but can save WHOLE CLANS and is used to punish certain cats. Brokenstar broke the warrior code and was corrupt because it was punishment for kicking Skyclan out. I think Firestar as the bad friend who wanted to see someone else suffer, and he had to tell everybody and ruin it, for Greystripe and his broken heart after Silverstream died. Firestar/Heart broke the code when he went to see his sister, Princess and took Cloudkit. Greystripe is trying to be happy. Firestar want the best for his clan and friends though. In summary, Greystripe could have been happy not having kits with Silverstream, and Firestar was being nosy about it, it could have ended differently if Firestar hadn't been such a jerk.

He’s not a bad cat but he’s not a bright one. He and Silverstream pretended like they couldn’t stop seeing each other when, in reality, they just didn’t want to stop seeing each other. Their mistakes led to Silverstream’s death. Graystripe understandably is upset and ultimately does the right thing by bringing his kits to their mother’s clan and going with them to raise them. BUT, a he betrays Riverclan and then ditches his kits for Fireheart and Thunderclan. I almost forgot to mention that Graystripe was a terrible mentor to Brakenfur. He rarely trained him and constantly left Fireheart with double mentoring duties. Graystripe has a good heart sure but he doesn’t have a brain behind those eyes.

Overall, a nice video - but I have one thing I really disagree with: That Silverstream was "manipulating" Graystripe for RiverClans profit. Sure, you could make the assumption that she does, because we always see her from Firestars/hearts perspective, but that would be it. From what we know Silverstream saved Graystripe when he was drowning, that's how they met after all! She absolutely had the choice to let him drown, but she chose to save him, which does show that she wasn't just acting the way the tensions expected of her. The cat she was saving was the singular cat that was responsible for her clanmates death, she had every reason to let him die. And it's no surprise that Graystripe was thankful afterwards, who wouldn't be? From what happens within their relationship we can see that she did care about him as well! They did have kits together, they kept meeting, even if we never get to read about any of them. And when Silverstream eventually died she kept watching over Graystripe in StarClan, as seen in the Mangas! Another thing we have to keep in mind is that both of them were just young adult cats, both just out of their apprenticeships! They wouldn't really have a picture of what their relationship would do to the clans yet!

It is stated in the books that Riverclan cats don't like dead bodies poisoning the river. One of the Erins also stated that Silverstream only saved Graystripe for that reason.

Graystripe was young, impulsive, hardheaded, and really didn't look where he lept a lot of the time. He never thought about what he was doing in detail, until he got the wakeup call he needed later on. He slowly got a hold of himself and became a proper formidable warrior, and even though he was still somewhat hardheaded and stubborn, he was willing to go out of his way to do what he believed in. Now more than ever, to the day Firestar died, I felt he became the friend that good old Rusty needed.

Reckless relationships rarely turn out well and can hurt both people involved, and those they know. It reflects very well in the series; while Graystripe's stubbornness was frustrating and unappealing, it's quite accurate and adds to his development over his silverstream arc pretty well. It shows how closed-minded he becomes, seeing SIlverstream and their relationship as perfect, and anyone who dares to interfere 'true love' is in the wrong.

Greystripe didn't kill Whiteclaw, Whiteclaw fell of off the cliff and he tried to save him and Leopardstar was the one to attack the Thunderclan cats near the gorge and Greystripe felt guilty about it and Firestar comforted him.

I believe Graystripe was bad friend in the first 4 books in the New Prophecy. He just completely ditched Firestar for Silverstream and lashed out on Firestar when he tried to help him. But in book 5, Graystripe redeemed himself :)

Ok i'm pretty sure that Gray'stripe fell in love with Silver'stream cause of one cat: Maple'shade. I haven't read Crooked'stars promise but in the ultimate warriors guide it says on page 117 in the Cooked'star chapter "He was beginning to realize that he made a terrible promise that would leave him isolated in the midst of the clan, but Maple'shade wouldn't not release him." and then on page 118 it says "But Maple'shade reminded him of his promise he had made, and slowly Crooked'jaws worlds fell apart.' And on the last paragraph of Crooked'star is says "but his daughter fell in love with Gray'stripe, a Tc warrior. Thanks to Maple'shade, Crooked 'star achieved everything he had ever wanted, and lost everything important to him." So i don't think Silver'stream was "using" Gray'stripe. I think Maple'shade made Gray'stripe fall in the water so Silver'stream could save him, so they'll fell in love with each other. So no, Silver'stream probably did love Gray'stripe. And then there's the rest of the story. In the end, Maple'shade caused Crooked'stars life to fall apart, then Silver'stream and Gray'stripe fell in love. So we can all blame Maple'shade. But that's just a theory, a warriors theory. Oh and y does Silver'stream look like one of those mean girls? I mean i didn't think she was that bad. Right? oh and i love ur channel Akira.

I don't think it was maple that made him fall in the water. If you reread the scene, it was cinderpaw that ran out onto the frozen river. When greystripe tried to help her, the ice broke and he fell in. How would that work?

Ironically; after reading the novels again-it’s interesting to see that Graystripe’s and Silverstream’s tragic affair (alongside with the main protagonists feeding starving RiverClan) saved ThunderClan. After reveal that the ThunderClan was sheltering the old murderous tyrant Brokenstar, ShadowClan and WindClan swore they will not allow passage to them when returning home. RiverClan’s leader Crookedstar (Silverstream’s father so conflict of interest?) allowed ThunderClan to return home through their territories

He completely blew off Brackenpaw's mentoring to slip away with Silverstream. I get love, but he completely ignored most if not all of his clan duties. I don't think Silverstream used him, but she's just as guilty. Both of them ignored all the consequences. Silverstream the most. When she's found to be pregnant, she simply shrugs her shoulders and says who cares. Her ignorance got herself killed. (Isn't she the only cat who's died in Childbirth?) I like to think Gray joined Riverclan because he felt guilty about Silver's death. Gray also does nothing as Millie mistreats Blossomfall. I can't say he's the best character, he's beginning to fit within the middle.

SilverStream was not using Greystripe. It is stated in Crookedstars promise that Crookedstar did not know about the meetings and could not stop her from doing so when he found out. She says that she loves Greystripe and Crookedstar could do nothing about it. Crookedstar doesn’t try to and allows his last surviving kit do what her heart desires.

I don’t think silverstream was trying to manipulate Graystripe. When Firestar gets one of his 9 lives from her, he asks her if he should take a message to Graystripe. He says that her eyes showed pain and sorrow. I think that is proof enough that Silverstream truly loved him. And if Silverstream was helping Riverclan, why allow Fireheart to ask Graypool and Mistyfoor about Oakheart’s death and Mistyfoot and Stonefurs true clan. She would have no reason to help him unless she truly loved Graystripe. Not to mention she doesn’t attack Fireheart when Thunderclan attacks Riverclan. She could’ve without Graystripe blaming her because they were attacking their camp and she could’ve said that she had to keep up appearances. Lol I’m such a nerd

I've been so busy these last few months, but this video worked like clipbait on me so here I am with my opinion. Graystripe was a terrible friend, but only in certain books. He presumably learned his lesson, but it was not handled correctly. As you said in Fire and Ice, he was plain horrible towards Fireheart. Not only that, he abandoned his apprentice to be trained by him. That's the one behavior that makes him cross the line from naive to selfish for me. Fireheart even thinks that Brackenpaw will be held back because of his mentor's absence. This is also not totally Graystripe's fault, but I feel it important to mention. When Cinderpaw got run over by the ThunderPath, the camp was so busy that Fireheart had to leave his apprentice alone with basically no one to get some herbs. Because of this, Cinderpaw ran off and got hurt. In an AU where Graystripe was not in love with Silverstream, Cinderpaw might not have gotten mauled. But this might have all been okay, but he'd learned his lesson at the end. And you could say he does. Silverstream is almost killed and Fireheart has to risk being called a traitor to save her. He starts to realize it might be a bad idea at this time, but all he really does it be more secretive. It doesn't cause him to change his behavior. Fireheart is the one that just stops caring. And when Silverstream dies the problem is that it has nothing to do with Graystripe's behavior. If Graystripe had been a RiverClan cat, pretty much the same thing would have happened. It is an unforeseen consequence, not a direct punishment, which Graystripe NEVER gets. He is allowed to go to RiverClan and come back with minimal resistance. This is why I've grown to hate Graystripe in the original series.

When ever Fireheart tried to help Greystripe with Silverstream Greystripe gets angry at him for no reason. 2. He kinda ditched his clan to hang out with a she cat (Silverstream) that he just met. 3. Her name is WindSoul, originally WindFlower, but I changed it. She was born to an atheist cat, of sorts. She wasn’t apart of the clans, but loved how they were named. Her name was lover, and she named her Kits WindSoul and FireBlare (who I haven’t completed). Lover was eventually killed by dogs. FireBlare ran off and escaped, but WindSoul was scratched up. Her stomach wasn’t torn open, but her cheek was. She managed to crawl away from the dogs, mewing and calling for help. WindSoul ended up in ThunderClan, right infront of BrightHeart. BrightHeart takes pity on the young kit, and brought WindSoul to the medicine cats, who helped her out. WindSoul started to explore the clans, always enjoying what they do, except for ShadowClan and BloodClan because she was scared of the clans. I’d really like to put Lover in StarClan, but I don’t know how. If you have a way to do that. Please let me know! I have a drawing of WindSoul with SquirrelFlight on my channel, if you’d like to see her :P.
