Yep absolutely every once and a while she make mistakes but that's what makes her a relatable character. "But she ignored blossmfall!" Some say, yes she sort of let go of her ADULT CHILD who literally doesn't need her anymore in favor of her gravly injured daughter. She loves her baby, and thinks her baby need her help

its not that she "ignored" blossomfall; its that she used briarlight's struggle to attack blossomfall. i dont think briarlight would have ever approved of millie screaming at her sister to be grateful she isn't disabled and "useless" like she is. millie treats briarlight like her whole life has been ruined by her injury instead appreciating that briarlight is still alive. briarlight clearly internalized this and she says she feels like a burden when she dies.

@McKenzie369258 I haven't read Sign of the Moon recently and don't remember Blossomfall saying anything about Briarlight's injury specifically, but regardless what Blossomfall did say, that doesn't change any of my feelings about Millie. I'm not saying that its inherently bad that Millie was overprotective, but that she can't use that as her excuse to mistreat others. She treats Jayfeather, Briarlight, and Blossomfall terribly and never apologizes in any meaningful way. Even after Briarlight has died, she does not reflect on how her words and actions affected them. My feelings on Blossomfall might change once I refresh my memory and reread the books but again, Blossomfall did not arbitrarily "choose" to be a jerk and attack her own kin, she was influenced by Millie's actions towards the both of them. From what I remember of Blossomfall's character, she does show a lot of signs of being depressed, and while that does not excuse her lashing out at others, we are seeing her say these things at an incredibly low point in her life. Blossomfall at least shows a lot of guilt after Briarlight has died but Millie acts like she has been a model parent the whole time. This is clearly not if one of your kits thinks you wouldn't care if they died and the other felt like a burden to the clan.

I personally never really thought the whole scene between Blossomfall and Millie was that majorly bad?? I actually thought it was a normal reaction from Millie, it just reminded me of my mother, yes she was harsh but she had good intentions. She didn't want to lose her daughter when she already has a daughter crippled you know? so I couldn't really understand why the fandom liked to exaggerate the whole scene - *if anything most people probably had a problem with it because they were scolded as a child by their mother and held a vendetta against it by forcing their bloody hatred on fictional cats* 👀👀👀

It would be heartbreaking to see your child crippled and have to give up on their dreams, which is why she fussed over briarlight so much. And even though she yelled at Blossomfall that one time and doesn't speak with her other kits that much, doesn't mean she hates them. She loves them all. But blossom and bumble are adults who don't need to be fussed over like kits anymore, so it was kind of uncalled for them to act so bratty when their sister was slowly dying.

Graystripe and Mistystar were both taken by twolegs earlier (I can't remember which book, unfortunately). Their theory was that while being held by the twolegs, they may have been given vaccinations, making them more immune to illness in general.

Look, if your sibling was cripple it will come to fear to all parents of losing a child that they loved. Millie and Greystripe KNEW that Blossomfall and Bumblestripe could handle themselves and didnt need their care. Greystripe also didn't pay much attention to Bumblestripe and Blossomfall. If your sibling was cripple then your parents focus would be trying to keep that child alive because they don't want to lose something importance. Your parents know you can DO THINGS ON YOUR OWN it's away of showing "Hey you're old enough to take care of yourself, you don't need our help,"

Millie is. . . not _the best_ mom, like, Briarlight even states that she doesn't want special treatment in Bramblestar's Storm, she just wants to be treated normally, also, I understand the nature of a paranoid mother, but she doesn't get to be rude to Blossomfall about it. That's emotional abuse! It doesn't matter how old you are, emotional abuse is not okay. Especially in Sign of the Moon, when Millie openly states that Blossomfall should grow up and act like a good warrior, Brackenfur tries to tell her that Ivypool and Blossomfall are home safe which is all that matters, Millie replies, "IS IT?!" like it doesn't matter if Blossomfall got killed, it's all about Briarlight! However, Millie does have some good qualities; she speaks dog _and_ is a good mate to Graystripe, and also respects his first mate Silverstream. Millie serves her Clan well and is even shown playing with her grandkits Blossomfall's kits in AVoS, so yeah. I don't _hate_ Millie, I respect her and her dedication to ThunderClan, her love for Graystripe, and her concern for Briarlight, I just wish she'd been a better mom to Blossomfall in OotS.

Millie was a good cat. She raised some of ThunderClan's finest warriors, learned how to hunt and fight swiftly and stayed immensely loyal to both her clan and her mate. Like most cats in the series, she had flaws, and that's expected!

Ah Akira. I remember when you released the first Millie video. I remember I commented it on it and I remember I really hated Millie back then. I'm also so proud of you that you came that far, I remember when you had only around 500 ( or was it 1000?) subscribers, and I was one of them and I still am. Now after all those years I must admit I feel neutral towards Millie. Yes I still don't like the way she treated Blossom fall back then but on the other hand Blossomfall herself was a bit immature and she overreacted too much despite being an adult. Not to mention Millie is a great mate for Graystripe since Graystripe was not mentally or emotionally okay at that time. Also this a great birthday gift for me XD. another point is that millie had every right to call out blossomfall when she came from the tunnels; 1) the tunnels were made forbidden due to its instability shown when hollyleaf ran in 2) she was neglecting her clan duties by going into the tunnels when she was supposed to be hunting, and came back with nothing 3) she dragged ivypaw into the tunnels with her, risking her to get injured and possibly killed already when the characters are apprentices, they shouldn't be needing their parents constant attention anymore, they're not babies. and when blossomfall did start complaining she was already a warrior, a full-grown ADULT. she definitely did not millie to be around her all the time then. i mean, did we see bumblestripe complain about it?

And to be fair, most parents dont really seek out their children in Warriors. How many times can you count out Whitewing talking to Dovewing and Ivypool after they were apprenticed in all of OotS? Some characters will talk to their kids more yes, but a lot of the time they don't really seek out their grown up children in the clan but just all live their lives together. I feel like Hawkfrost (or maybe someone else) got to her early, causing her to hold on to these emotions as an adult. Which would be a good reason as to why Bumblestripe isn't as affected by the situation, as he's growing and working more towards being a warrior than wanting his family's attention.

Whitewing was fussing over Ivypool when they got back and Ivy wasn't even hurt. Millie on the other hand lashed out on Blossomfall, she didn't even care she was hurt and she did NOT know they were in the tunnels.

I hate that people are not getting the point of Millie and Greystripe parenting. Millie had one litter of kits, tell me this if you're siblings where getting ready to die, or where crippled. Would your parents ignore them and be giving more attention to you? NO 1. Losing a child is very hard and a nightmare to all children. That was Millie and Greystripe were fearing, they were scared. 2. They knew that Blossomfall and Bumblestripe could take care of themselves. It shows the parent that they have learned a lot of when they were kits and when they where apprentices they could show that they could be on their own. 3. Blossomfall should have known the risk of going into the tunnels. Like all mothers, you would get into trouble for doing things that you're not suppose to do. That's was Millie did. She told Blossomfall to act like a warrior because what she and Ivypool did was unacceptable. 4. Blossomfall is showing that she's not ready to be on her own and over reacts to everything. Bumblestripes shows his parents that he doesn't need their help while Blossomfall shows that depsite she learned everything as an apprentice, she doesn't want to be on her own. Despite all cat her age no longer need theirparent help. 5. Millie and Greystripe knew the clan would take care of their kits because they put their trust in them. It like going to your aunt, grandparents or cousin home. Your parents trust them to take care of them.

I believe this. Millie is so important to Graystripe. She cares more about others than herself. If Silverstream says Millie is good for Graystripe, that says a LOT! The Clan loves her, her family loves her, and the READERS love her! When Millie fusses over Briarlight, its because she is worried. How would YOUR mother react if you were paralyzed? Probably the same way Millie acts when Briarlight was paralyzed. Blossomfall was spoiled a bit. Remember your Sleekwhisker song? Well, imagine Blossomfall singing that. Kind of fitting, don't you think? Millie is a VERY good mom. She is better than Rainflower, or even the original queens! Millie has DEFINETLY deserved to be a Clan cat, and the title of a good mom

Warning/Disclaimer: While I talk about this, I do talk a little about ableism. So, if that makes you uncomfortable, skip this comment. Also, I am not physically disabled, so if you wish to reply, I recommend doing more research. Also, remember this is my opinion and take on the books. So if you're here to argue with me, don't reply. If you have nothing good to say, don't say anything at all. I do like Millie, my only problem with her is how she treated Briarlight. Yeah, it's her first big loss, but it seemed Millie was saying being dead is better than being disabled. Millie does need to get a handle of her emotions. Blossomfall is a bad person, she's an interesting and fun character, but it was just awful to read about how she treated Briarlight. And also, when Jayfeather was helping Briarlight with exercises, Millie is angry that he's doing so when she's sick. She's also strangely physical at some moments. I did like to see Millie change and grow over time, and her emotions and how she felt as a flaw were nice to read about other than the five million generic, "oh, I need to live up to Firestar's legacy!" Conflict, and also physical flaws that can be easily changed like, "I'm not good at hunting or fighting!" Or, "me and my sibling don't have a good relationship!" Or, "I like a cat from another Clan!" In conclusion, Millie is okay, not the best mom, but that's alright. My only problem with her is how she treated Briarlight when she first became paralyzed.

No, i just can’t with Millie, she is a terrible mom and clanmate, we have seen other mothers with injure and sick kits acting good toward their other kits, the fact that briarlight was injure isn’t enough for doing what she do to blossomfall and bumblestripe, And even though the clan accepted her, I hate that it kept its kittypet name, it’s that she couldn’t give it, and get a clan name. To be honest I just hate her, is one of my to last favorite characters, and nothing will make me change. I don’t want to offend bot I just can’t with her

She did mention that it would be better if Briarlight was dead so she wouldn’t suffer even though briarlight wasn’t suffering, was not in pain, and was actually happy. She enjoyed helping out in the medicine den, she liked hanging out with kits and keeping Twigkit out of the medicine cat’s way (AVOS) She loved life, despite her injury. She always did. She was not suffering, and never said she was. She said at times she felt useless, but other times she was happy as who she was. And I guess at times Millie just did not see that. Eventually she got out of her ways and was fine. She understood her daughter was happy, and Millie just wanted to help her stay that way. Her character development had a lot of ups and downs.

I like the point about how most of what we hear about her is in Jayfeather's chapters. so true! I still feel like she is a bit harsh. I wish Warriors would put in more effort when showing that two (or more) cats are finally starting to get along. in some places it lacks information and leaves a lot of things missing.

Millie treated blossemfall poorly when briarlight was hurt. that's why I dislike her. You gave some good points but I still really dislike her. Of course blossomfall wants to be loved equally between her siblings. And when she got stuck in those tunnels she could have been hurt badly, but millie did not care. She just yelled at her. also I dont particularly like millie since the beginning.

I understand that adults sometimes need help from their parents, but Blossomfall did something stupid, got lost and came out unharmed. She was an adult, and she did a kit thing to do, and Millie did not need more on her plate, with having a paralyzed child. She was under high amounts of stress, and to be honest, did something that most of our parents do. When you have a sibling who needs much more help than you do, of course more attention will go to them. Briarlight’s life was cut short and ruined.

It was child neglection and it was kinda like Oak and Crooked but instead of Rain not caring about Crooked because he was hurt she did care about Briar but while forgetting about her other kits. In the manga as well she helped graystripe get better and got him water when he was about to die. And now let’s compare her to a normal warrior like...hmm...bracken fur..he patrolled...he hunted...he trained apprentices....he had kits...he fought against the dark forest... Millie has done that too..

Just because there's a flaw in her personality of how she handles things doesn't mean you can go crazy. I mean, my mom has some flaws in her being a mother. Do I go crazy and hate her? No! Personally, I really hate Blossomfall. She's a grown cat and still expects lots of attention. She went to the Dark Forest not because she didn't know what she was doing, in fact she knew they were evil, it's because she was jealous at Briarlight. She even made fun of her injury. She's such an ungrateful cat who I wish died in the tunnels. Sliverstream is just another spoiled brat who thinks everything goes her way. In Crookedstar's Promise manga part, she literally said that she wanted the Warrior Code to change so things would go her way. She also thought that just because she's clan leader's daughter, she could do anything. She also thinks she would never get in trouble just because she's clan leader's daughter. Silverstream is just as spoiled and rotten as Blossomfall. I understand it's your opinion so you have the right to disagree, but I'm just saying my point.

I used to hate Millie but then I realized that everything she was trying to do. By the time when blossomfall went to train in the darkforest I felt bad for Millie. She is trying her best to be a mother and protect her children which is hard. With briar having injury. Bumblestripe having love issues (not anymore I don’t think) and blossomfall trying to go into the bad guys side. It’s hard for Millie taking care of them. What she did was wrong about attacking and ignoring blossomfall which I agree but she was mainly stressed cause of it. She truly loves her kits and if u went through the same thing I’m sure everything will have been the same..

Here's my take on Millie's parenting issues: Millie is scared. She disassociates herself from Blossomfall and Bumblestripe, because she is afraid that they may end up like Briarlight... or worse. After the stress of almost losing Briarlight, she didn't want to feel the same if such a thing were to happen to Blossomfall and Bumblestripe.

Blossomfall is a full grown adult woman, who doesn't need the approval and constant attention of her mother like a kit, she doesn't need it, she has friends all around her, like Ivypool and lots of other cats, even Thornclaw could've been one at the time Brairlight was injured permanently, she was paralyzed from the waist down, she couldn't walk ever again, and had a (in my opinion) a very insulting death Millie would obviously freak out, also since millie never experienced this before, sure there was sickness, but she's never seen anyone close to her be injured like that, she'd obviously panic since well brairlight could've died

The fact that Bumblestripe didn't feel disturbed by Millie giving Briarlight more attention than Bumblestripe of Blossomfall (unlike blossom) makes me feel like Bumblestripe is more mentally strong and stable than any of his siblings. Even when he was rejected, he didn't go savage like Ashfur, he was just kind of bitter and distant. Respect.

I myself, hate her. And that's because, as a parent, you should give all your children the same amount of love and attention. Blossomfall was lost in the tunnels, came back, and gets yelled at for it. Wtf, that's sick. I want to vomit every time i read about her, honestly.
