Was Hogwarts Legacy Worth The Wait?

Recently got this for my birthday and boy was blown away by how much detail they put in this game, finished my first playthrough as a Gryffindor and now looking forward to my Slytherin run

As a fan? Sure this game might be worth it. But looking at without a diehard HP fan filter, the game is beyond repetitive and shallow. The story is the embodiment of cliche and lazy writing. The only thing that kept me engaged was trying to finish Sebastian's questline just so that i can get the unforgivable curses and tbh his story with him and his sister and uncle was actually very interesting. Other than that there are much more better games out there.

The trouble is that you can't stop or join Sebastian in his quest.

The cabbages get SUPER powerful! I played the first 30+ hours just doing spells. And I still use a few attack spells. But I upgraded all my gear with level 3 cabbage (now I switched to level 3 all plant damage significantly increased - seems to provide the cabbage about the same damage, while giving the poison and mandrakes more dmg too). You'll want to at least get the trait to throw 2 cabbages per throw. I can walk into a big group of enemies, throw a couple cabbages, maybe a poison plant, and I like to use thunderbrew as well. And everything is cleared in a matter of seconds. Use the mandrake to brake shields. I haven't upgraded the poison plants, mandrakes, or thunderbrew yet. I am deciding if I want to use a talent point in those. But I think I probably will. Then I cast some ancient magic, or some unforgiveable curses. Makes quick work of any enemies.

I’ve barely played through the game I’m flying around completing missions, quests, shopping and doing mini quests. It’s so immersive

I find the story and characters soooooo dull. But the immersion the game provides is pretty damned sweet!

The game is very enjoyable but feels so empty. There’s a great deal of open space and very little action experience. Dungeons could be setup better with solving puzzles and with a challenging boss fight for example.

this guy is the reason harry potter assasins creed is a thing... This game should have been so so so so so much better but was just boring and repetitive. If THIS is exactly what you wanted out of an ip like Harry Potter than god save the true rpg and HP fans who expected more.

Very good game, I completed the main storyline as a Ravenclaw, restarted as a Gryffindor, my daughter is playing as a Hufflepuff, we both agreed that we will play as a Slytherin as our next house. Funny thing, I just got the Professor Weasley transformation battle spell (turns enemies into explosive barrels). I was practicing it in front of her, mixing in unforgivable curses as well, and she was telling me good job keep it up lol.
