About other reviewers saying that the Bass lacks low end: you could describe it as a con as in 'not enough low end'. Or you could describe it as a pro as in 'it has more mids than an average p-bass'. That's the main reason I went with Sire instead of Fender (oh, and the price helped too)

Hi! So it's only bad to leave it plugged in if the bass is active (has batteries) because having the jack in, activates the batteries. As the P5 is passive, shouldn't hurt it 😊 I too had black stains, I believe this is just a reaction between your fingers and the strings or the fretboard stain. Internet says its metal oxides rubbing off onto your fingers from the strings. If it persists, wipe with a microfiber cloth. Mine doesn't do it anymore 😊 P.s. congrats on the new bass!

I think the bridges on the latest Sires are poor. They only use two screws on the rear edge of the bridge where all the stress is when every other manufacturer uses 5 or 6 in this position. Also the unusual screw pattern makes swapping the bridge more difficult than it needs to be. A few cents spent on 3 more screws would definitely be worth the extra cost in my opinion !

Demystifying Fender Neck Sizes Based On Letter Designations by Best Bass Gear Although bass guitar necks can be built to any number of different sizes and shapes, more often than not a player does take the letter designation of the neck into consideration when shopping (especially if buying online unplayed). Letter designations for bass guitar necks is more or less “a Fender thing”, and because Fender terminology is so pervasive in bass builds, Fender’s letter designations are used even for bass guitars they don’t even make. In addition, those same letter designations are often used by luthiers to describe a neck’s feel to someone who hasn’t actually played the instrument yet. Where it gets really confusing however is that a letter designation can refer to the neck shape OR the nut width. The modern Fender American Standard Precision Bass is a guitar with a B neck with a Modern C neck shape, with B referring to nut width, and Modern C referring to the curve shape of the back of the neck. Nut widths either either A, B, C or D. A - 1 1/2-inch B - 1 5/8-inch C - 1 3/4-inch D - 1 7/8-inch …and these were the original letter designations for Fender necks well before the whole neck-shape-by-letter thing came into being. Fender neck shapes can be C, U, or V, and these letters literally refer to how the back of the neck is not only shaped but also how it looks. This means a C does have a shape similar to that of a letter C, a V actually looks like a letter V on the back, and so on. U - Early 1950s or 1970s shape Soft V - Early 1950s Hard V or just V - Mid-1950s shape C - Late-50s oval shape Modern C - Modern flat oval shape

The Sire basses have everyone jumping on the band wagon, to get one. I wish it had a Fender headstock, does Marcus Miller really play it, or just sell it?
@toledo29832 жыл бұрын
as far as i know its said he is involved in the development and oviously giving his name to the series of basses. Live he maybe playing this things not so often...its beginners basses as i understand.

@@toledo2983 definitely not a beginners bass, more like a mid tier, Intermediate Advanced, like quality level of a Fender players series or the Squier vintage modified.

@@toledo2983 Not a "beginner" bass.. The V7 Sounds better than my American fender pro P bass and my old American fender Marcus miller 5 string. Fells just as good too. Tuners and bridge are slightly budget but they are good enough that I haven't bothered upgrading them...
@toledo29832 жыл бұрын
@@Whos-That-Guy Beginners deserve a good instrument, and i would not say necessarily a beginners instrument is a "bad" instrument. I have a squier standard Pbass and its better than any other my basses, lets say other my 4-string basses. I put the sire in the "beginners bass" category as beginners dont want to pay over 2000 euros for instrument, and are not as demanding for their instruments in quality terms than professionals.
@Whos-That-Guy2 жыл бұрын
@@toledo2983 I see what your saying and I agree that a beginners instrument isn't a "bad" instrument. But the price of the Sire is probably higher than most beginners would want or need to pay. I wouldn't ever put the sire in the beginner category cos you can get a decent bass for 1/3 of the price of a sire. But the sire plays and sounds as good as basses 4 times it's price. I would call it intermediate to semi professional... I mean who cares right haha. They are awesome, beginners to pros, everybody loves them.

I know what you mean about too many fiddly knobs on a bass, that put me off their jazz and that horrible headstock (it still needs further improvement IMO) it might be my imagination but I think there’s a big move away from active basses of late in general

Overall colour scheme is stunning, the only thing I actively dislike on these Sires is the cutaway for truss rod adjustment, showing the body colour. I'd be getting a small paintbrush right away and painting it dark inside to blend with the tort guard! Killer looks and chunky sound. Very nice 👍

Great looking and sounding bass. Unfortunately for me the Marcus Miller on the headstock kills it for me. I'd much prefer if it said Sire. I know this is subjective but I am not trying to be Marcus Miller or present expectations that I'm trying to be on his level.
