Since Multi-Piece Golem is the only Fusion Monster Jack ever uses IIRC, the mysterious card Jack drew could be Speed Spell - Speed Fusion.
@brianforsyth2225
@brianforsyth2225 Жыл бұрын
Since its effect sends it back to the ED (in the anime at least, I think it's tributed in the TCG?) I could see Jack running two copies. One thing we never found out was if there was a speed spell for De-Fusion, since there were only like 3 fusion monsters in the entire series it never came up. That combo is pretty schnice for bringing Red Dragon out though so I could see Jack betting that chance to brick on it. If there was only one, I'd call shenanigans on him drawing it in this situation lmao. My guess for his dead draw in the final turn would probably be Revival Gift or Spacegate. It's far too late in the duel for either to make a decent comeback strategy if Yusei reverses the current board.

Sam...Jack was fully aware of what Stardust Dragon can do, he played Speed Spell End of the Storm to get Yusei to negate it so that Stardust would come back on his (Jack's) field (during Yusei's time in prison, Jack, Mina, Goodwin & Lazar looked over the duel footage, and Jack made that comment.) As far as the second duel and each duelist having very specific cards to counter specific effects, I chalk that up to Jack and Yusei knowing each other so well that they prepared their decks for this specific duel. They've known each other their whole lives and you can bet that Jack, after realizing that he actually lost the last duel, would've prepared his deck with cards to counter. And Yusei being the great duelist that he is would've done the same
@RenaldyCalixte
@RenaldyCalixte Жыл бұрын
Ironically Yusei losing to Jack at the beginning of the series in an off screen duel seemed to motivate Yusei to be a stronger duelist. Yusei wasn't a leader when Kalin was leading their group either. So Yusei grew into a leader and top duelist throughout the series.
@brianforsyth2225
@brianforsyth2225 Жыл бұрын
@@RenaldyCalixte That is really good to note. Jack beats Yusei with a Power deck, driving Yusei to become a more strategic duelist. Yusei beats Jack with superior tactics, forcing Jack to become at least slightly more enigmatic, though I think his deck is still Power at its core. His other losses throughout the series each drive him another notch in that direction, but Yusei was definitely the catalyst. A final duel between the two after the end of the final arc would have been sick.

Bro that was probably one of, if not one of the best finishers I've seen in a ceromonial duel. It wasn't some op hyper specific trap like clustering wishes aone, which was still cool af, but it was going with a classic that I don't think we saw through all of season 2. Yusei won with the very first Synchro monster he ever summoned, and in such a simple and fun combo. And the music. Omg the 5th opening playing when he drew his iconic junk synchron just hyped it up even more. The animation was stunning with Junk Warrior's massive fist scarring Red Dragon Archifiend along with the voice acting by Yuya Miyashita, Yusei's va, was top tier. FInally, the ending message from the duel. United even the weak can topple a mighty giant, that was what Jack took from their final duel, and that bro fist. Honestly it might be my 2rd or 3rd favorite ceromonial duel. Yugi vs Atem, Judai vs Yugi, Yuma vs Astral, and Revolver vs Soulburner are hard to place around it

@@DranzerG3It’s a shame though. I watched that duel hoping Jack would win to fulfill his promise to Carly of becoming ‘a better king’ and to be the strongest. I would like to recommend the Big Five duels in the Noah's arc. I think there's some potential there, especially with Joey's rigged duel that he probably would have won easily if he had his usual luck, Kaiba's duel that maybe could have gone differently if his opponent played a bit more risky with his life points and Imperial Order, and maybe even Téa who only won because she was somehow able to use Yugi's Dark Magician despite being in a different deck that wasn't involved in the duel.

@@jedininja3016 Looking it over, I can see what you mean. Give Gearfried 1100+ Atk turn 1 and then turn 2 all he would have to do is destroy Johnson's Skelengel (any monster in his hand could do it sans Panther Warrior, but if he was concerned then using only 1100 last turn would give him 700 this turn) and then a direct attack with Gearfried would have won. There is the problem, though, that Johnson's deck master ability was a Quick Effect so he could use it to destroy everything before he was defeated. The only way to get around this would be to attack when he had 1000 or less LP.

If what I said is true, then with the lack of 5Ds Duel Analysis videos, it's feels oh so satisfying to see it get more love. He had a level 7 Synchro Monster, but he doesn't have Quickdraw Synchron, so he'd need specifically Nitro Synchron to make much use of it, meaning he'd also need another monster to make 7. As for his other level 7 synchros: Junk Archer doesn't appear until Episode 63, in the 3v1 duel against Goodwin. Junk Berserker doesn't appear until Episode 144, in Yusei vs Antinomy duel (which was never dubbed. If you've never seen this duel, go watch it. It's one of the best in the entire franchise.) Oh, I defiantly want to see the Syrus vs Zane Duel done, because, if what I heard or believe is correct, then Syrus made a bit of a misplay on his second turn that cost him the Duel. On his second turn he could have summoned Cyroid and Equipped it with Training Wheels so it could attack directly, instead of summoning and using Submarinroid. Zane still loses 800 LP, but now Cyroid is Banished until Syrus's next turn, so the following turn he doesn't have to use his Trap to save Submarinroid and let Zane draw a card, he just has to use Life Force twice, thus on his next turn he can do the Cyroid and Submarineroid attack combo, but this time when Zane attacks next turn Submarinroid can be saved because Syrus still has his Trap and while Zane will draw another card because of it that card being Pot of Greed will have come too late and thus because of this chain of events on Syrus next turn he can still Power Bond Fusion Summon out Paircyroid but he'll also still have Submarinroid. Then on Zane's last turn, he has only 800 LP and Syrus will still have Submarinroid in Defensive Mode, so when Syrus uses Emergency Provision to get ride of Paircyroid and gain 1000 LP, Cyberdark Dragon will be forced to attack Submarinroid and Syrus won't have to pay 400 for Life Force, thus even if Zane does his De-Fusion move Syrus will have enough LP left to use Life Force to stop all three attacks, leaving Syrus with 200 LP and forcing Zane to end his turn, meaning Syrus wins because Zane Decks out next turn.

At best, Quilbolt can be used for another Synchro Summon, at worst, a body to protect Yusei's Life Points. Banishing Quilbot this early in the Duel when he didn't need to is wasteful.

Stardust definitely goes back to Yusei's field in the first duel. During the Bonds Beyond Time duel, the protagonists steal Stardust from Paradox's field, Yusei uses Stardust's effect to negate a destruction effect, then it gets special summoned back to his field during the End Phase, even though Paradox was the one who summoned it. (There's also the fact that Stardust was cheated out iirc, but that doesn't really matter in the anime)

Except Lazar posits, and Jack admits to, his strategy being exactly the opposite, using the End of Storm to get Stardust back. I don't think that Quillbolt Hedgehog had the banish effect in the Anime. I remember that he was able to use its effect twice in his duel against Offier Ushio in the Sector Security place his D-Wheel was being kept. Edit: Considering that Jack has "The End of Storm" and "Overboost", and uses a power deck, the brick card might be the speed spell "Gap Storm", which requires both players speed counters to be apart by at least 10 counters or more to activate. That would've destroyed all spells and traps on the field, but again, Jack didn't meet the requirements to activate it.
@dancostello4872
@dancostello4872 9 ай бұрын
Quillbolt did actually have the same banish effect, even in Yusei vs Ushio R3 - you're presumably remembering that it was _SS'd from the GY_ multiple times (3 to be exact) during the duel and think that they were all via its own effect, but that was only the final time: • 1st time - Yusei Normal Summoned Junk Synchron & used its effect to revive Quillbolt; • 2nd time - Ushio activated Discord Counter which returned Junk Warrior to Yusei's Extra Deck & SS'd Junk Synchron & Quillbolt to Yusei's field from his GY in Defense Position; • 3rd (and final time) - Yusei Normal Summoned Turbo Synchron & then used Quillbolt's effect to SS itself from the GY because Turbo Synchron is a Tuner - Quillbolt was banished when Yusei used it as material to Synchro Summon Turbo Warrior.

If he can't make exactly eight, some wiggle room would have definitely boosted his strategy. He gets Exploder Dragonwing, but that always felt like Red Dragon lite :( Crimson Blader was also level 8 so that's less useful for his deck. A level 9 or 10 would have been sick. Notice the slight of hand at play: Dark Tinker in the anime was made level 3 instead of level 2. If it were level 2, he could have made Exploder Dragonwing (it's generic in the anime and he had it in his ED at this point since he summons it in his very next duel which would have been before he had a chance to update his deck) and popped Junk Warrior with a chunky 2300 damage. Also for some reason Yusei in the first duel uses Quillbolt's revival effect instead of Junk Synchron's effect which is weird, although it doesn't change his options after that point. Though the first time he uses Junk Synchron's effect is later on in the series, and even in previous duels he didn't use it which is kinda odd since there's not really a justification for why he treated it like a vanilla. Man, season 1 of 5D's just had so many TINY discrepancies from the actual cards which is honestly a bit odd. It's basically the only season of the anime where a bunch of cards have these slight differences from the printed ones that would fundamentally alter how duels play out. There are two things about the last turn of their first on screen duel that I think explain Jack's actions. First, Jack is prideful and arrogant. And more importantly, has never lost to Yusei up until this point. They have dueled in the past, but Jack was the one victorious. I think his mental state is more affected by how close Yusei already was to winning. Second, again, Jack is arrogant, but he's still a clever duelist, and I actually think he knew Stardust would be revived on his field, which is also evident by the fact that Yusei could have prevented Sonic Chick's destruction via Synchro Reflector with Stardust and ultimately lost nothing. Yusei regained Stardust so Jack wanted to steal it again. The perfect way to put Yusei in his place. But Yusei thought further ahead.

So title of this video should of been called Was Jack About to Beat Yusei Twice? I mean Jack also have a background of beating Yusei in a duel. I mean way before Jack left his hometown, he did beat Yusei in a duel. Then when Yusei left his hometown to go into a rich city, Yusei was about to beat Jack in a rematch only for the duel to be interrupted by Crimson Dragon. Then in the real tournament, Jack finally lose to Yusei in a rematch. So basically, the reason why Jack was able to climb the ladder back then is because he used to be a man who can beat Yusei in the 1st attempt. Then later on, it proves Yusei is not the same push over like he used to be around Jack. I would say Jack must of picked up this prideful and arrogant personality because he did used to be able to beat Yusei in a duel.

3:38 I would actually call this a misplay as Yusei could have used Junk Synchron's effect to summon Quilbolt, tune with it and then it goes to the GY, instead of being banished, letting him use Quilbolt again as it's not a once per turn. Now if Yusei had Speed Warrior in the GY....then fair enough, he could summon Quilbolt for some extra def or to power up Junk Warrior.

Junk Synchron didn't have its effect yet at that point in the anime. It wouldn't until after its irl debut.

It's been ages since I last watched 5D's, but wouldn't it have made more sense for Yusei to use Junk Synchron's effect at 3:50 to bring back Quillbolt Hedgehog? That way he can save Quill's effect for later

Notes from an Ancient Gear Mechanic; If i remember Cannon right Jack,Yusei and Crow all three grew-up in the Same Orphanage and literally built their Deck's throught their Childhood's together. By the time of the Betrayal, they would've known each other's Decks inside and out. Only Misplay i can see is the one you pointed out(Jack basically not veing agressive enough)...... Game Over!

3:35 I know it didn't end up mattering, but that's definitely a misplay. Why would you summon hedgehog by its own effect when you can instead summon it by junk synchron's effect and still have it in your graveyard (after you synchro summon) to potentially use it again later?

2:11 Doesn’t Yusei have Nitro Warrior? He used it in the prior episodes when he dueled Trudge in the Pipeline, no?

I think the mysterious card Jack drew was Big Piece Golem, it was a 5 star monster so he would have had to had tributed RDA to summon it which he would not do so it was a brick, it could have been speed fusion. I did like that Yusei ran over to Jack to see if he was okay but then Security came to take Jack to the Infirmary

I'd say using Quillbolt Hedgehog's effect was a misplay, since he could have used Junk Synchron's effect to summon it instead. That way QH would still be in the graveyard for any later plays if needed.

For the first few episodes, Junk Synchron did not had its iconic effect, so Yusei always had to revive the level 2 monster through other means. That is, until episode 11 where Junk Synchron got its effect

Yusei Fudo, the main protagonist of *Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's*, isn't directly associated with the Shadow Realm in the original Japanese version of the series. The Shadow Realm concept was introduced by 4Kids Entertainment for the English dub of the *Yu-Gi-Oh!* series as a way to censor more severe consequences like death or serious injury². In the English dub, the Shadow Realm is depicted as a dark dimension where characters can be sent during Shadow Games, which are high-stakes duels². While Yusei Fudo does encounter various dark and challenging situations, his story primarily revolves around his battles against the Dark Signers and other antagonists, rather than the Shadow Realm itself¹.The concept of the Shadow Realm in *Yu-Gi-Oh!* is quite intriguing. While the original Japanese version of the series doesn't include the Shadow Realm, it was introduced in the English dub to replace more severe consequences like death or serious injury¹. If an arc were to take place entirely in the Shadow Realm, it could explore the darker and more mysterious aspects of the *Yu-Gi-Oh!* universe. Characters might face high-stakes duels where losing means being trapped in a void of eternal darkness³. This setting could also delve into the psychological and emotional struggles of the characters as they navigate this perilous dimension. Such an arc could introduce new antagonists who wield dark powers tied to the Shadow Realm, creating intense and suspenseful duels. It would also provide an opportunity to explore the lore and origins of the Shadow Realm itself, perhaps revealing ancient secrets and connections to the main storyline. In *Yu-Gi-Oh! GX*, the concept similar to the Shadow Realm is known as the **World of Darkness**. This realm is a terrifying dimension where individuals are forced to confront their worst fears and see their dreams shattered until they lose their will to live⁴. The World of Darkness is ruled by Nightshroud, a malevolent spirit who aims to engulf all humanity into his realm⁶. Throughout the series, several characters, including Jaden Yuki and his friends, encounter the World of Darkness. One notable arc involves the **Shadow Riders**, a group of duelists who serve Nightshroud and attempt to bring the Sacred Beasts to life³. The final season of *Yu-Gi-Oh! GX* delves deeper into the World of Darkness, with Nightshroud pulling many characters into this dark dimension⁴.In *Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL*, the concept of the Shadow Realm isn't explicitly used as it is in the original *Yu-Gi-Oh!* series. However, the series does explore dark and mysterious dimensions, particularly through the **Barian World** and the **World of Chaos**. The **Barian World** is a dark dimension inhabited by the Barians, who are the main antagonists in the series⁶. They seek to collect the "Numbers" cards to gain power and ultimately conquer the Astral World. The Barians often use dark and sinister methods to achieve their goals, creating a sense of danger and high stakes similar to the Shadow Realm⁶. Additionally, the concept of **Dark ZEXAL** introduces a darker side to the protagonist, Yuma Tsukumo, and his partner, Astral. Dark ZEXAL is a fusion of Yuma and Astral that occurs when Astral's heart is tainted by darkness⁹. This form allows them to use powerful dark abilities, adding a layer of intensity and suspense to their duels⁹.

A good duel to cover would be both the duels between Joey and Mai in the awakening the Dragons Arc as we never got to see the result of the first duel due to Valon interrupting the duel and the second duel Joey lost. It be good to see if Joey could have won either
