He did not said that it was a covenant. Compare the verse to this one made by Yahweh. Genesis 17:7 I will establish my covenant as an everlasting covenant between me and you and your descendants after you for the generations to come, to be your God and the God of your descendants after you. Gen17.7 is very clear while John 14.6 is a Christian's mere assumption. Jesus said "I was sent ONLY to the lost sheep of Israel." I am very sure Jesus knew the meaning of the word ONLY when he chose to use it. John 14.6 implies that Jesus was the way and the truth for the people whom he was sent to. This is the same message we get from Islam. Every prophet was sent to guide their own people. Their prophet brought them the guidance. Hence, every prophet of God is the way and the truth to reach God. . Not a single prophet of God teaches trinity or God will become the victim of His own curse and will be crucified.

When there have been changes made to the Bible, then we have no reason to believe it, we have no reason to trust it. When there are errors in the Bible with the text, we have no reason to trust the Bible. The accuracy of the Bible is very important because if you don't have an accurate scripture, then you don't have a holy scripture,. You don't have a scripture that is worth reading.
