📍 Erotic style: Josephine Baker
The diva whose life is a real grand operetta. Josephine Baker, the African-American queen of the entertainment industry between the two world wars, was the erotic sensation herself, enchanting almost her entire generation with her dance.
Dancer singing. Singer dancing. Movie star. The muse of great artists. Grace is Kelly's girlfriend. Foster mother of rainbow children. Spy, hero of the French resistance. Men fantasize about her. Women too. "Bronze Venus." "Black Pearl". "Goddess of Creole." The girl, who was born in St. Louis, Missouri, under the name of Freda Josephine McDonald, came to world fame from hell of misery and racial discrimination.

She was and always be one hell of a remarkable woman. What she accomplished was unheard of back in those days. Unfortunately she had had to move to another country entirely in order to find success, and ultimately a place where she belonged. I didn't know anything about her until watching this video. She's incredible and I applaud her.

I couldn't judge her to be a saint, or sinner, that's not my place. But I do know she had to do what she had to do, for that time period, to survive, and did an outstanding job of it. But I would put her closer to a saint, than sinner, because of the love in her heart. Never have I seen a movie of a celebrity, who died before I was born, bur learn of her life, hear her singing those french songs, with so much love in her heart, then watch her funeral procession and I cried like a baby. I love Josephine Baker, because I see the steps she went through in life, and how she made lemonade, out of lemons. But most of all how she loved children. A very remarkable woman, and we're fortunate for the times she was here, on earth.

She was a beauty beyond compare with heart and wit to match. She did not play race at a time when race was everything. When I was a kid I saw an Ebony (at least I think it was Ebony) magazine in a trash can and pulled it out to look at it. It had a picture of Josephine in her banana skirt. I fell in love. I told my dad about the picture. He agreed she was beautiful but told me for my own safety to not tell anyone about liking her. I still fall in love with her every time I see her picture.
