Randy. We are the company that has been in federal litigation with FedEx for the past four years. On any vehicle even if it's more than 10 years old if an odometer has been replaced or tampered with it must be disclosed. The 10-year exempt rules has nothing to do with tampering and odometer replacement. We have purchased four to five hundred of these FedEx trucks before being locked out of the auctions once we filed our suit. 20 to 25% of the Vans we purchased had replaced odometers and absolutely none of them were ever disclosed to us. Furthermore, we have never seen the federal green label in any of the Vans we've purchased or even looked at and we have looked at thousands. Your truck weighs 9,700 pounds by the way. Anything else you need to know about these FedEx Freightliner step Vans do not hesitate to contact us.

Contact me as I have a list of wrecking yards that have a few of these FedEx vans available for parts. Also look online for MIill Supply out of Cleveland Ohio. I am an x Fedex driver and i would recommend you keep the step van during the holiday season. When your out shopping for Chrisrmas gifts, you can park at any red zones with your flashers on especially at the malls and not worry looking for parking.

Your correct with the Red Zone Parking area's... But, I think that I have 1 better idea than that one for when Parking in Red Zones..?. My wonderful single neighbor is a San Francisco Police Officer.. I have done many drive alongs with him over the past 8years.. I know how to conduct myself inside the Police vehicle. So, often when I am in a bind and need to get my shopping done in less time without having to worry about receiving a Parking ticket infraction.. What I will often do is walk over to my wonderful Police Officer neighbor and barrow his Policeman Patrol Vehicle and drive to several shopping locations and make all necessary purchases with his vehicle.. I get to park that vehicle everywhere and anywhere I want.. I don't need to worry about getting harassed by any Cop without having to show License & Registration to them.. Of course when I am all finished and done with my shopping. I will drive back home and Park my neighbors Patrol vehicle in the same spot and walk back home.. I love having him as my neighbor.. So, have a nice day...

As far as the seat is concerned, there are spring adapters (similar to air ride) to absorb the bumps. They offered you 10k because that's on the low end. Dealerships usually sell 5-6k more after negotiating down from asking. Your damage is cosmetic, our body shop does that in one afternoon.

You mentioned toward the end of the video that you replaced the batteries and the check engine light that was on prior to the battery replacement has not come back on. If the computer on the truck performs like an OBD 2 in a car, disconnecting the battery will clear the codes and also reset the monitors....the same way that a code reader connected to the diagnostic port can be used to clear the codes. The truck may need to be driven a few hundred miles in order for the computer to test all the OBD monitors.....If the problem that caused the check engine light is still there, the check engine light may come back on once all the monitors have completed their tests.

17:56 I see you found the exhaust problem. Now I can see the broken hanger too. I wonder if someone was killed, coming in deep enough under that truck, especially considering the mangled bumper you showed in former video? Maybe you can get the traffic report on it. Take look also at how the high heat from bent exhaust pipe has discolored the differential and also more worrisome is the brake lines coming across to that wheel looks "cooked". I'd definitely bleed the brakes on that side at the rear, and with all those miles on it, might just bleed all the brakes till only fresh fluid appears. I'd put in new 90W differential oil too. On a '77 Dodge PU D100, when I redid the exhaust, I only needed to take it out the right side halfway between the passenger window and the rear wheel, but neighbors on passenger side at a red light will hate you, especially it using diesel fuel.

My guess on your mileage is just over 2 million !! The first odometer was likely changed out at 863,000 miles, the second is reading 181,000 (on a 6 digit readout) It is likely 1,181,000 , which brings the total to 2,043,400. The truck has been in FedEx service for over 20 years. Many FedEx route average 250 to 300 miles per day (especially rural route) which would put you right there at just over 2 million !

It may not be as many miles as you think. If it sat in park and was showing still going 60-70 mph, it was racking up inconsistant mileage. Maybe why odometer was replaced, but if the problem was in the sending unit.. So, may only have 100,000 miles total.

We have a few trucks like that at my work and they replaced the speedometer like 3 or so times for each one so it not surprised there are discrepancy. Our work does it really good one keeping track of that. They all have a repair book and keep it in the truck, it would have been better if FedEx did that so it easier to keep track on when it was changed. Lastly last year you convinced to me to get a ridge wallet and love it. It was the best money I ever spent.

The wholesaler selling them was swapping the odometers on them or so it appears FedEx doesn’t take responsibility for the altered mileage on them. The computer had the actual mileage if it hasn’t been changed but 500,000 is about right that is typically what the ones are actually showing. I worked at UPS for 14 years for 4 years I worked in a package center office I did daily mileage and fuel reports based on a UPS vehicle with the same years of service 500,000 mile is about right. At UPS we scrapped all retired vehicles no retired UPS vehicles were sold to the public with possible exception to aircraft but most I believe were sold for salvage. Edit: when a UPS vehicle is scrapped it is painted a loud color and a person from automotive watches them crushed at the salvage yard.

I had no idea because the ones I've seen at auction have sold for similar to what you paid. 900,000 miles or not I don't think you can get hurt on this one. Use it to move and triple your money to boot. Like I said before it might be on it's third engine and fourth transmission for all we know.

Hey Randy most fedex trucks can’t go over 65 mph. I am the uniform guy that drives one of these 40 hours a week. Ours have been turned up to 78 mph and the power is 10 times better. If that truck don’t have DEF fluid and just a dpf filter then you have a gem! I drive one that has def fluid and it’s just slow compared to my old one that had dpf filter. That engine and trans is still worth more then what you paid regardless the mileage. My old Cummings had 600k and we are still using it.

The only reason the previous owner sold it was insurance wrote it off based on age, mileage, blue book value of vehicle and cost of parts and labor. A properly cared for fleet truck should last for at least 750K miles. There is a Taxi cab that was in service in Greece years ago that had a bit over one million miles on it! It was a diesel as well. From what I have learned it is siting in their museum in Germany today. So much for Diamler-Benz quality.

5:00 in, I also see the exhaust pipe at right rear seems crimped at the curbed bend area. Maybe just an illusion? Sure looks to be though. Maybe damaged at time the rear bumper was hit prior to you owning it? Also indicated by the pipe now being way too close to the rear flap. I'd probably just cut that flap off, or remove it. Probably topping out due to backed up exhaust in constricted pipe.

Add the mileage on the sticker and the mileage on the odometer. That should give you closer to mileage on the vehicle.

My car before was very sluggish. I disconnected the battery for 30 minutes. Reconnected battery. To reset ECM. Been good ever since.

Hi, just came across this channel. I just picked up a food truck that used to be a FedEx truck. It's a '97 GMC Utilimaster, I believe a total of 14 feet long, with 10 feet behind the driver. It runs pretty well. No glaring issues. Except for some reason, when I'm not pressing the gas pedal (at a light, or just coasting), there is a steady beeping coming from underneath the dash. I have NO Idea where it's coming from and I can't figure out. Do you guys have any idea what it could be? Thank you, David!
