Nightwish released this as an "Official" video after Marko left the band to show him love. Another great performance of Marko using his lovely back up vocalist would be "KIss While Your Lips Are Still Red" Live at Wembley (Troy beautifully plays the guitar using an Ebow giving it a beautifully haunting sound). Also, for another solo Marko he did a cover of Queen's "We Are the Champions"!

Great reaction!! This is definitely the definitive version of The Islander in my opinion!! I also HIGHLY recommend "Sleeping Sun" from this same Tampere 2015 concert (which showcases Floor's GORGEOUS voice) and is the most beautiful song you will ever hear about a solar eclipse!

This is my favorite Nightwish/Marko song. Marko's voice is so unique, and powerful. A consummate professional, perfectly at ease out there in the middle of the crowd, holding them all in the palm of his hand. And, then, the others come in, all backing and supporting, but it is Marko who is still in the forefront, still leading. Sometime, not as a reaction but just for your own pleasure, you should listen to the Edd Joss download of this same performance. It's a little longer because it contains a very fun introduction that Marko makes to the crowd before he starts singing.

Hell yes, I love this song. Nightwish often includes some acoustic songs in the set. Usually somewhere in the middle. This video doesn't include Marco chatting with / teasing the audience in Finnish saying something like; Marco who? There is a big problem. The rest of the weasles left him alone to entertain the crowd of 22,000+ by himself with a guitar, so he had better come up with something. It goes something like this......

This is the right version, but you missed the beginning banter with the crowd, and you didn't watch to the end, where seeing the delight on Floors face, for Marko, is beautiful to behold. This is a home crowd gig and knowing Marko has suffered with depression, and seeing him so relaxed and happy here warms my heart and waters my eyes every time I watch this. Such a wonderful, magical moment. I truly hope Marko can look back on this performance and remember how special it so obviously was.

Yep: “Nothing is bad from Nightwish.” Bingo. Also yep: your favorite Nightwish track is whichever one you happen to be listening to at the moment. You’ve been told I’m sure that Marko wrote this one for his band Tarot (I believe). They couldn’t fit it in, but Tuomas loved it, and helped with the lyrics. So fast forward many years… After we went into lockdown, Marko left the band, before they had a chance to tour Human.||.Nature. So they put on a virtual concert live-stream, called “An Evening With Nightwish In A Virtual World - Live from the Islander Arms”. The Islander Arms was a fictional venue, an inn on a rocky coast. The name of the place was plainly a tribute to our beloved Marko…and the generated backdrops for the studio were stylistically taken from the original music video (when Annette was in the band). It’s gorgeous. Go check out the original music video, and then watch any of the songs from “An Evening With…” and you’ll see!

Solo Marko is a vocal treat! In Nightwish, he's somewhat restrained, as you'll learn when you dig into his solo projects. Notice just how happy and proud Floor is throughout the song. When he walks back, she's like a little sister whose brother has just saved the world. They have such a lovely relationship. This song is from the Anette era, and there is a wonderful video for it. My understanding is that it was written for a soundtrack by Marco, and he asked Tuomas for some input on the lyrics. Really enjoying your journey my friend. You of course realise your life will now consist of Nightwish reactions and live performances.......death by Nightwish! Couldn't think of a better way to go. I've only been on this journey for 4 years and I never tire of listening to this epic band and side projects. Absolutely nothing wrong with this version. Marko actually started as a guitarist and has some classical training as well. There are probably hundreds of lead vocalists that would love to have Floor as their backup singer? They always have a song or two where they take it down a little. It gives room to build it up again.

Well, this "sea shanty" song is perfect for Marko "The Viking". And, well, having Floor as your backup vocalist, you know you are a Legend, that Marko unquestionably is !!! Floor steps back out of the spotlight during a lot of songs. Guitar solos, Marko singing, Troy playing the pipes, whatever it is, Floor steps back from the mic out of the spotlight, while the others have their moment. Floor is a team player. Everdream, Storytime, and Ghost Love Score all have many different recordings from different eras. There is GLS from Floor just after joining Argentina in 2012, Floor at Wacken 2013, Wembley 2015, Tampere 2016, Argentina 2018, and that's just NW's DVD quality recordings. then you got the later shows with decent sound, like PinkPop, Hellfest etc not to mention all the Tarja and Annette songs out there. Sleeping Sun and Phantom are my favorite Tarja songs. Slow Love Slow and Scaretale are my favorite Annette songs. Shoemaker is probably my favorite Floor song. maybe. yeah, for now anyway

Every concert is different enough to warrant watching all of them. For instance, 'The greatest show on earth' at Wembley uses completely different instruments in certain parts of the song compared to Tampere. But in the end it doesn't matter, because we are here to enjoy your journey, not relive ours.
