Sonny had mentioned much earlier in his life that he wanted to be buried as a soldier. He put his service to the country above all else, including the club. The question is... was this fact actually what caused him to be buried in that national cemetery? Here are some clues... The club NEVER recognizes or celebrates members who are out bad, yet every year, Oakland celebrates Sonny's birthday. The club would never post tributes or memories of Sonny on IG if he were out bad... yet so many charters do. My educated guess is that while he clearly fkd up, the club chose to not go the "out bad" route, recognizing him as the true father of the club (sorry Dick White, being the founder doesnt always make you the father), and easily, the most important figure in the history of all MC culture. What other Angel could walk into a Bandidos bar, unannounced, and have the entire place stop dead in their tracks out of awe and respect? None

When i was 19 i was a prospect of a support club for 81 . Patched in when i was 21 ,, 6 months later I was doing a 3 year bit . For a moment in my life all i wanted to be was a Hells Angel . But after I got out , with in 2 years then shit I seen a heard was unbelievable to me . I was so dissapointed to see the lies and disloyalty among a lot of members of 81 and my own club . Now im 53 and a member of a diamond club . We've been approached a few times over the years , and refused every time . Im proud of all my brothers for sticking togeather and all seeing the writing on the wall .

I have followed the 81 since the early 1980's. You are spot on with this video. Barger basically writes his story of leaving Oakland in his first, "fiction" book after his autobiography, "Hells Angel". I do not believe that he and Cisco were at odds at all but Sonny was breaking up with Sharon, there was a power struggle going on in Oakland and he wanted the 4 corners are of the US to be 81 territory. It was an interesting move. The whole "Z" thing is just now coming out. I would still love to know who actually did the hit on Hoover. I was surprised to see Sonny go back to Oakland. To me, he was just the face of the club and that is why he was tolerated once back in Oakland. Ever notice "Z" was always by his side and strapped in every picture of them in Arizona? Biggest tell for me in the end was his funeral (or lack there of). This guy was HA #1 and he doesn't get a send off for months and when he does it's at a fair grounds with mostly support clubs attending?? Cisco, Decon, Big Al, Mother Miles and numerous other legends of the club had huge funeral processions all led by HA from around the world. This guy gets a dusty send off and then is not buried with the others on the hill in Evergreen Cemetery? He had not been see in a long time prior to his death. His FB page was done by "Z". I believe he was voted out bad a while before his death or more likely just before or just after which is why it took so long for a funeral and no burial in Evergreen. You are also correct about Sonny being the face of the club and George wanting to be the face of the club. Sonny just wouldn't get out of the way and George had his own issues in the end. George had issues in his own Charter. Interesting how one of his best friends, Jesse is murdered and the case just goes cold. He teases about it in his books but claims to know nothing. Bullshit. As it turns out, both of them are shams. Barger told Butch Crouch in the early 80's that there was no brotherhood, it was all bullshit and to get as much money as he could before it was over . That tells you everything anyone needs to about #1. What I really want to know in closing is, why was Terry hit (with a hot shot) and what happened to and why was Tiny "disappeared". The 50 year Member that made the patches that you reference, is that a former NYC Member that went to Oakland and then to Cave Creek? Another poor dude that got put out by #1.

This is what happened.... the club DID know of this arrangement with the cops, as it benefitted the club, and the PD was acting illegally by engaging in this deal. The cops had become criminals by making this deal with Barger. The benefit to the club related to anything that was not a capital crime. There were MANY offenses committed by the Oakland charter that saw the cops look the other way due to this arrangement. Probably dozens of years of incarceration was avoided. This deal with the cops was a smart move by Barger and the club was very pleased with it. The only problem? It didn't last very long

Funny u posted this. He actually posted how traded guns for his brother’s DLs in his book. It totally jumped out at me when I read this (99.99% was self admitted in his book). Supposedly he put the NYC clubhouse of HA in his name without telling the other full patches. Supposedly he fled to Florida and joined the Outlaws 3 full patch HA’s sent to deal with the problem were murdered by the Outlaws when they were all drinking one of the HAers as the Outlaws were yelling abuse to them as they were tied up did, “Can you just shoot us” Which the AOA did guess the full patch though then more annoying than listening to a judge in a court room.
