ABs played the Wallabies in Australia 1 year. The ABs did the haka, following that, the whole stadium full of Australians started singing "Waltzing Matilda". This amped up both sides and it ended up being a great game. It was awesome to see and hear both sides representing their countries the best way they knew how.

Incredibly uniformed takes by these commentators. The Haka is 1 thing. There are 2 variations, Ka Mate and Kapa o Pango. Unbelievable lack of understanding yet are commentating. We are oversensitive as a nation? Explain that further Mr Boer Bester. How are South Africans oversensitive? Very rich coming from a white guy and I have a feeling I know what he's talking about. The Haka is NOT the only nation that does a war dance before the game. Tonga, Fiji, Samoa also do it.

It's also not actually a "war dance". It's ceremonial.

It's as simple as this. The Haka was disrespected basically due to human error. You can't control a plane in the midair, as a AB fan I totally understand and get this. But you can control a DJ playing music and people setting off pyrotechnics while the Haka is being performed. As for the crowd chanting and singing during the Haka, there is no disrespect in that at all. The English have been doing it for years, singing, Swing Low. Also the Australians have been doing it as well, singing Waltzing Matilda. Crowds interjecting themselves during the Haka is part and parcel of it, and I hope it continues to happen as it allows the crowd to get involved. Last but not least, imagine a photo of the All Blacks performing the Haka at Ellis Park, while a plane flies over head in the background, that would be epic!

The stupidity on this show is disturbing... we've always respected them when they are doing that, what's changed now?

I'm a Bok for life but it is so embarrassing when people disrespect them We constantly seek other cointryi3s validation yet we can't even respect the haka.

A lot of bad takes here. If you knew the history you'd know it is in fact a "rugby thing". Yes, Kapa o Pango IS a [type of] HAKA. I don't think it was rude, I just think the organizers overloaded the last 10mins before kickoff.

Come on ppeople get TF over this. For god sake the AB's got beaten and complain about the haka being disrespectful. You cannot control the crowd noise it will be stupid. Imagine a stand filled with supporters stand in silence while the haka been perfomed? God please no. What about the noise during the national anthems then? Is that not also disrepsectful? One thing I will say is the mere fact that NZ complained about this was only to stroke the fire. Cape Town crowd is going to be even more "disrespectful" and I sincerely hope they do.

Yes it was disrespectful. Respect tradition and stop the disco BS! Many came to the stadium wanting to see the Haka live for the first time... and Ellis park treated it like a disco. This has nothing to do with being polite, this is about doing what is right.

No! Its disrespectful to be so arrogant and entitled to expect everyone else to stand at attention while you do your little dance. Show your respect to your for father spirits, trees, butterflies and your mother in law all you like, no problem but dont assume a right that everyone must shut up and bow!
