I assume it could be an issue if he made it into one, but he pranks his friends and expects it back. He did seem like he knew, but not cause they told him. His pranks on his friends could have gotten himself into legal trouble, so I think its probably a mutual understanding with his group. If it had been a random viewer that caused him to get arrested, I assume he would probably take some kind of legal action in that case.

They can if he's waived some of his rights in the spirit of pranking which is common. Otherwise, everyone could be charged with breaking and entering when they go prank someone by moving their furniture around or such.

I think brain chips should not be used for human enhancement, only for restorative or assistance purposes for those with disabilities. As soon as you make this the norm for everyone, that is when you start allowing dystopian like scenarios to occur. Mind control is terrifying. I also don’t think this kind of technology should be used to make a profit. Only organizations whose only purpose is to help those in need should be able to use such dangerous technology

An arrest prank victim could press kidnapping charges on the off duty police if the prank victim was not in on it.
@TerryProthero
@TerryProthero Жыл бұрын
Yes, sometimes a person may not see the humor in the prank and then people get sued or face criminal charges. I remember one funny example of a prank going wrong like this. Johnny Carson hated David Letterman's terrible looking vehicle because it was such an eyesore in the neighborhood. So, he took it and showed it on his show so that everyone could see this thing to embarrass Letterman. Well, some damage was caused to the vehicle, so they had Judge Wapner from the People's Court television show settle their dispute. David Letterman starts off by trying to bribe him with some steaks. That didn't work, but I think Letterman still won and received some money for the damage caused to his vehicle.

The brain chip thing is scary but also could help a lot. You have to think though, at least it was pigs and stuff. A slot if our modern day Healthcare stuff came from terrible human testing in ww2
@Z38_US
@Z38_US Жыл бұрын
True. The human testing in ww2 was absolutely terrible altough there is no denying that during ww2 we made some of the most important medical advances through exactly that, which obviously doesn't make it ok. Brain chips are probably going to be something that will still take decades to even get close to publicly available tho.
@me-myself-i787
@me-myself-i787 Жыл бұрын
Honestly, I think consensual human testing is better than animal testing. Obviously, the testing in WW2 would not have been consensual. However, nowadays, for some reason, the FDA prohibits testing on humans unless animal testing or some alternative has been carried out first, even though animals can't consent and humans can.
@blackmagick77
@blackmagick77 Жыл бұрын
@me-myself-i787 Idk who would be crazy enough to volunteer for some of the messed up things that people have been put through in order to find solutions to health issues but yeah if someone wants to have at it.
@me-myself-i787
@me-myself-i787 Жыл бұрын
@@blackmagick77 I guess that makes sense. Like, if we banned animal testing and only allowed consensual human testing, medicine would move nowhere. I guess the best solution is what many companies already do, i.e. alternatives to animal testing such as testing on cultured cells.
@blackmagick77
@blackmagick77 Жыл бұрын
@me-myself-i787 Probably. I don't like animal testing either but for some stuff I can understand why they do it. It should be for only the absolutely necessary stuff though. Not cosmetic bs

Something that always bugged me is the "your one phone call" shtick. That isn't real; community at local and county jails have phones anyone can use (though it's often collect calls). And police can't deny you a phone call just because you already used one - that would make getting an attorney impossible in practice, which is unconstitutional.

There was actually someone who ran in Canada for Prime Minister (As I recall) as a communist back in 2003 who said he would take all money away from every civilian and civilian organization, among others. Replacing it all with "federal bonds" which were as good as money. You could spend them just like money. But they were useless internationally. Basically Disney Dollars for Canada. And given how globalized and private enterprize has become central to a strong economy since then, that plan would have killed Canada and all of its trade partners. Meanwhile, the government gets all of the real money to "serve the people" as best they can.

@me-myself-i787
@me-myself-i787 Жыл бұрын
I'm not sure what it's like in the Philippines, but here in the UK, it's completely legal. Our school used to sign us up for stuff like the Intermediate Maths Challenge and the Bebras challenge quite often. These challenges were quite fun. Also, all students in the UK are required to take part in the SATs at the end of Year Six (I think), and the GCSEs at the end of Year 11, and the A Levels at the end of Year 13. And some schools also require end-of-unit and end-of-year tests. In short, students are often required to participate in tests without their consent. Not that I wouldn't give my consent if schools did need it.
