I think there’s less fountain soda machines so they sell cups of ice . Here most convenience stores have a soda machine where you can purchase just a cup of ice

Hell yes it sell. It's perfectly portioned and you can buy it straight with your bottled snacks.

I guess it‘s more about keeping the ice sealed so it won‘t catch the smell of anything else in the freezer; the cups in the video are i assume industrially sealed and delivered

They are originally from Central and South America and was brought to Japan and Korea in the 1700s. The Japanese name is Satsumaimo and the Korean name is Goguma. They are the same variety of potato but can taste a little different due to different growing styles. There are over 40 different verities of Japanese and Korean sweet potatoes. In America we either just call them Japanese sweet potato or Korean sweet potato. The reason she seems surprised is because sweet potatoes in USA are actually yams and taste totally different. I grew up in Japan and every year through elementary school we would have a field trip to the potato farm and could dig a huge garbage bag full of potatoes to take home. I just got a box of them from the Asian market and man it brought back some great memories. 🥲

No, it’s really not just a sweet potato. The texture, colour and flavours are all completely different to American orange ones. They’re literally nothing like what most people know as a sweet potato….. these are a million times nicer!!!
