Nah, I’m with Shubble about the joke needing to be clarified it is a joke. Jokes stop being funny when the only person enjoying it is the person telling it. Tell them its a joke or stop making jokes at the expense of others. Like theres a reason that type of joke is used a bullies cliche in movies and shows. All you have to do “Association of Women drivers- hahaha” make sure they laugh a bit with you, “Nah but I think its actually All Wheel Drive, wouldn’t it be funny if that association existed though? They’d get a lot of people confused sharing the AWD acronym.”

I feel like where i live there's more different color cars, there's a lot more SUVs and giant pickups that squeeze down the narrow streets that shouldn't have parking on both sides and two way traffic.

4x4: Gearbox allows you to change between 2 wheel or 4 wheel drive, often high or low gear as well AWD: Always 4 wheel drive

AWD is not always all 4 wheels. Part time AWD usually delivers most of its power to the front wheels under normal conditions, basically FWD. But when the front starts to loose traction it will start to send power to the rear automatically.

All-Wheel Drive will transfer power from a slipping wheel to a stable wheel in the case of wheel slippage. Four Wheel Drive applies power to all four wheels equally.

im not a car person but awd is all the wheels are active always and 4wd can be turned on or off when needed. my dads truck has the option to change from just the two front wheels being controlled to all 4 (4wd), he turns on 4wd when theres ice, slush, or snow on the road to help from slipping around

Im not a car person but my mom has farm trucks, and im pretty sure the difference is that all wheel drive is a thing that your car has ALL the time, vs 4 wheel drive which is something you turn on in certain situations. Its the same thing, one is just more permanent

The foot joke was fine; the kid laughed and he already apologized. It sounded like he made an accidental joke and the kid was probably proud of her new foot. My uncle has a prosthetic lower leg and he literally would clip around their forest in his gator making jokes about it and everything under the sun with my cousin's kids. He lost it after he had heart surgery and they used veins from it in his heart. Sometimes jokes makes things tolerable too.

Ok. So I don’t think the first one is made up. I dated a girl my entire senior year of high school and part of my first year at college. My friends didn’t make those kind of jokes around me while we were together, but soon after we broke up a couple of my friends, namely one of my best friends girlfriend, frequently told me how much better I could do. I know there was no ill intent behind it but it still bothered me.

I think joking at each others expense is pretty normal. Like shelby was saying she wouldnt be a part of that friend group, but even she does it (like in empires, everyone makes fun of jimmy/joel for being short, shelbys friends call her old, she always has "mean" banter with joey, etc). Also if youve ever had a sibling, you know it just kinda comes with the territory there. I think there ate boundaries that can be set (like if you genuinely dont like jokes about like... weight, traumatic life events, etc) and everyone needs to respect that. But most of the time id say its fair game as long as you know the other person well, you know their sense of humor, and its not one-sided. And people make mistakes, sometimes you'll make a joke you dont realize is off-limits, but the other person should accept the apology if they know it was genuinely a mistake Also wanted to mention that in the "theyll make fun of you more if you set boundaries" groups, it just depends how you respond. If you immediately go into therapy-speak, like "hey guys, I'm setting a boundary and you are no longer allowed to make jokes about this topic. Thanks!", theyre going to make fun of it because of the phrasing. But they respond well to stuff as simple as "hey man, not cool". Same with sibling boundaries.
