Most Unusual Top Fuel Race in History

Two nitro dragsters fail to achieve their goals and yet somehow produce an entertaining race. Can you recall a race that was similarly strange and yet awesome?
This chaotic sequence from the 2012 Winternationals at Willowbank Raceway in Australia was not short on drama.
Both Allan Dobson (left lane) and Phil Lamattina (right lane) had their engines explode at almost exactly the same time, rendering the 10,000hp Top Fuel dragsters (the same in Australia as you see in the NHRA) powerless. What followed was one of the strangest, slowest and yet brilliant races ever seen from the nitro cars. Would you believe the race ended up being decided on a holeshot?

no i was at a drag race in ill or ind or wis i was a kiod my dad owned a shop in west chicago they build 67 camero for a guy in town unfortunatly ther guy was scared tyo drive fukkll throttle down thge track it was big fooit and shana na nas Boweser drtagged down the trasck he was in his hightop converse big fott well had bigger4 tread that was the miost unuwsal drag race ived ever seen it was late 70s early 80s we moved in 81 to colorado that was tghe last time we all went to the races.
