I don’t think it’s fair for Brodie to act the way he does, constantly interrupting and disrespect the other panelists time just because he’s Brodie Smith. Jake and others have been derailed with their time because of Brodie.

This trophy discussion is silly. Have one big artistic trophy that the winners lift, add their name to it and have it year over year. That’s how you create iconic photos and traditions like the Stanley cup, World Cup in soccer, NBA trophy, Masters trophy, literally every other sport does this. These wearable or unique trophies can be a side prize they take home, like the masters green jacket.

I have a rebuttal for question #1. FPO already has 9ft rims. They play on shorter and easier courses than MPO. If they played the same tee pads and baskets as MPO there would be even more disparity in scores. So there is nothing wrong with making those FPO holes shorter because they already do and no one is complaining.

Says the person who doesn’t have to manage install, additional caddy books, additional signs, etc. Just get rid of FPO tour altogether until they can get men out of their division. It’s holding Disc Golf growth back at this point. Do a mixed doubles every DGPT tournament a day or 2 before. But no dgpt fpo singles tour.

The trophy problem is because there isn't any tradition that surrounds it. In the winter I curl and I play in tournaments where if you win you get to bring the trophy back to your home club and your names are engraved on it. The next year you bring the same trophy back to the tournament. 60 years from now your name will still be remembered because it's on the trophy. The guitar, hat will be forgotten

On question 1, Jake made a good point that I think deserved one more point: if we want more top FPO talent, we need to find better ways to get more women and girls in the sport. To put it maybe a bit too simply, every woman and girl not playing disc golf could potentially be the next Kristin, but we'll never know, and the world is poorer for it!

I like your show, as well as other shows that you guys produce. That being said, I do have a little constructive criticism for this show. I understand that the “contestants” need to know the topics in advance so they can research them and formulate coherent arguments. However, it really takes away from the format when people are literally reading their arguments instead of just passionately saying them. Please take the time to memorize your key points and then just speak from the heart. If you want us to be passionate about your show and ultimately your company, then you should be willing to put the effort in to memorize your arguments so we don’t have to watch you guys read your arguments like robots.

@baertheblader9402 7 ай бұрын
Instead of stand-still maybe if they had in-the-circle putting rules for that zone it would be more punishing. If follow-throughs are allowed then they can still get quite a bit of distance. I also don’t mind obstacles like a course I saw with a vine covered fence that blocked the path to the basket if you landed on the wrong side of it. I think being stuck behind a 6ft fence and being forced to throw an overhand shot would be more analogous to a sand trap.

@@sylol200 I disagree, the majority of players "without" pdga numbers have no idea who Simon or Eagle even are. What’s the argument against using shotgun starts for final rounds? It would have allowed for all holes to be played in Austin. There could be even more drama as scores are similar across multiple cards in MPO and cards would be finishing around the same time. This would require cuts to fit the final player count to the shotgun start, and that could also make the storylines more compelling each tournament.
@matthewfleming1000
@matthewfleming1000 7 ай бұрын
I’m confused on the first question. Does making the course easier level the playing field? Like when the guys play fountain hills, that’s a much easier course, right? But AB, Aaron gossage, Gannon, or whoever the best players are seem to rise to the top and destroy everyone else on a much easier course. How much are you changing things that that kind of advantage is nullified?
@nautilusshell940
@nautilusshell940 7 ай бұрын
It doesn't, they just wont state the obvious that the FPO field is terribly weak apart from maybe 5-10 players. The only thing that would change by having easier courses is lower scores. People want to win, no matter the course and slightly easier courses isnt going to magically make them 'try less hard' to win. FPO really needs to be its own separate tour, its weighing down MPO/DGPT by siphoning off money and views. It needs to grow organically on its own timeline/terms. No amount of moral posturing and subsidization is going to change the fact that men are more interested in sports than women, thus fewer female competitors and lower quality of competition.

The explanation to why that wouldn’t work is actually the reason the Memorial Championship in Arizona is not on tour anymore. Those courses are on public parks and the DGPT wanted to completely shut down the park so they can sell admission tickets, but they were not able to do that. They could sell the tickets, but they can’t stop someone who wants to ride down the bike path at Vista or wants to visit the Veterans Memorial at Fountain Hills from doing so.

@@baertheblader9402 you would have to get specific courses that work.Because there having the same problem right now on the golf courses and they’re flushing money down the drain. It takes actual business people to run these kinds of deals because if matt’s off road recovery can close the park to host an off road games then it’s possible across the board. I’d rather have a guy on a mountain bike go by then watch disc golf on a golf course that looks thrown together and out of place. It comes down to what’s more important to these guys. I can name 10 plus courses in my area that would let these guys come do this and 6 of the ten are a park.
