I admit more people should have died (for my money, Davos, Pod and Tormund), but don't act like Theon, Jorah, Edd, Lyanna Mormont, Melisandre, Beric, Missandei, Viserion, Rhaegal, Ned Umber, Varys, the Hound, Jaime, the Mountain, Cersei or Daenerys survived. Also all the unnamed people.
@rtozier20114 жыл бұрын
@Yowatsapp 05 I don't see it that way at all. Yes, they vastly oversimplified the moral narrative, but Daenerys always had the potential to become a tyrant: from the beginning she was an ideologically driven knight templar with a belief in eye for an eye and a pathological emotional dependence on the love of the people for her self-esteem. She was always going to crash and burn emotionally in the cynical, unromantic political environment of Westeros, especially King's Landing, unless she surrounded herself with loved ones and kind advisors and learned the value of tolerating dissent. Unfortunately, the Long Night and Cersei prevented that from being the case. Where I differ radically from D&D is that I recognise her story as being a heartbreaking tragedy of being a romantic (as in, believer in destiny and birthright) ideologue in an unforgiving environment. I weep for her in spite of what she did, whereas D&D's script implies they have no empathy. Allowing a female writer to help lead her to the same end would have helped.
@rtozier20114 жыл бұрын
@Yowatsapp 05 That's one of the least accurate comments I've seen in a while. First of all, I'm not that type of person at all. When a side character shows up, I'm almost always smart enough to know who they are, unless there's no way to, in which case I wait to find out. I haven't given you any reason to think otherwise, so you're pulling that statement out of somewhere dark and hard to access. Daenerys had a complex from early on about punishing the guilty and unloving. She was never a Mother Theresa (which, given that lady's established immoral attitude towards poor people, non-Catholics and others, is not a good analogy), much more of an Abraham Lincoln, who would start a war to give herself and others somewhere to call a stable home. And there are a fuck of a lot of things wrong with Hitler.

+Captain Phasma Via politics, but the battlefield they pwned Tywin!!
@kijamy86428 жыл бұрын
+Saiyan Prince they didnt fight vs tywin at all .. the only battle they fought vs Tywin was a lose ..awoiaf.westeros.org/index.php/Battle_on_the_Green_Fork they had some luck with braking the siege of Riverrun and that's all, it was imposible for North to win a war against Westerlands in a long run, the west just had much more resources after Renly death it was game over for Starks ..
@FightingStyles1018 жыл бұрын
Kiciner Jems It wouldn't have been impossible. They would've had certain victory if they'd kept Tywin's forces busy enough for Stannis to sack King's Landing. But Edmure's foolishness prevented that...
@kijamy86428 жыл бұрын
+Saiyan Prince Edmure fought against mountain and his 500 riders not tywin main host .. tywin and his army was in harrenhal and he could choose where he want to go .. west to casterly rock or east to kings landing .. i dont see how wuld a 20.000 men army stop a 50-60.000 army from going anywhere ?
@FightingStyles1018 жыл бұрын
Kiciner Jems I heard it said that Robb was planning to lure Tywin's main host in the books, not the Mountain... I could be wrong though, I'm still half-way through the first book.

"One army or two,the kings in the North through back hosts 10 times at last." Greatjon already decided to make Robb the king in north.

Best line in the entire show is clearly "We'll shove our swords up Tywin Lannister's bung hole and then it's on to the Red Keep to free Ned"

I love how she says "who were those men I saw here?" at 1:45, like she's a mother who just caught her son hanging out with a bunch of sketchy neighborhood bums... you half expect Robb to answer "mooommmm, they're my frieeends..."

In the books he doesn't die (despite being at the rw), he fights everyone off unarmed and they only manage to take him prisoner, but the actor left the show in season 1, so I don't know what the show will do.

Dammit George R.R. Martin...curse you for that Red Wedding...:( Rob should have marched on the Freys and the other houses of the North forced them to surrender under the unnegateable terms their men marched as Rob's Army and Bannermen then and there instead of going straight for the Lannisters. I know at that point they still had Ned Stark and the girls...but tactically not defeating the enemies to the North and melding them into his army before marching South was a huge tactical mistake.
