Another visit to the auto auctions here in Japan, and I've come across a true gem of a car. Forget how it's looking now, one look at the admittedly fungal infested interior and it's clear to see that this Corona/Mark II was truly appreciated by its owner. The array of interior aftermarket and factory accessories is incredible. Multiple sound-system head units straight out of the 1970's, so of course there's an 8 track deck. Need to know the status of the various components of the braking system? Next to the analogue clock in the centre console is a freaking "Brake OK Monitor" which has warning lights for: Low brake fluid, the vacuum booster, brake lamp and brake lining wear!
Engine is the 6 cylinder, 1988cc M engine and features that troublesome early electronic fuel injection... which could explain the low kms. Hehehehe
Disregard the grunge, people. This mid 1970's Corona Mark II sedan is a likely contender for restoration and many more years on Japan's streets.
