The X20 series of early Toyota (Toyopet) Corona Mark II's were some very cool and stylish cars, and I don't just mean the very sleek 2-door hardtops (of which today's feature cars are.) Yes, two feature cars today; one green and and one yellow. The 2000 GSS designation means these luxury coupes are powered by the DOHC 18R-G engine (1968cc /143 horsepower).

The awesome 70's design ❤️. But I was almost sure when you asked "can I see the engine" that you will get a NO. Sorry but this still stick's in my head 😂. That the Corona Mark 2 has a 145 Metric HP I would not guess, I thought this is in the 120 range. Great video Dann I enjoyed allot 👍.

Thank you so much for this video. I am a Japanese living in central Japan. It is kind of interesting that you guys take these videos in Japan and I am leaving comment from Japan. My dad used to own the same hardtop of Corona Mark 2, which was a silver one with stick shift, but not GSS I think. I was only eight years old or so around 1976. Was kind of rare model even in Japan cause this was a two-door hardtop.

I had one when I was young ... my first car...toyota conrona mk2, 1976 straight 6 , 2.633 litre , 4 speed manual, metalic green paint. They had just added the polution laws so they had parts on the motor that actually lowered the performance and recycled exhaust etc... mechanically good, front heavy and easy to lose in the rain.

Just look how gorgeous a 1967 Corona Coupe, 1976 RX5 Coupe, 1975 Celica Liftback, 1977 Datsun 240k C210, Datsun Laurel C130 is, these are what makes modern day cars dull and mundane and theres like a few dozen like these that can be named that are amazingly beautifull, quirky but beautifull.!

Hey Mr Wasabi - new subscriber here. Just wanted to let you know I found and purchased a Corona M2 Coupe 1974 just on a whim and now think it is a rare car but the engune is also rare it seems - 6 cylinder EFI ,RHD car right here in the Middle East. I have not seen many others - car is in pretty original condition including the carpet and spare wheel. Going to revive it and see what comes ....also at the same time found a 76 Celica pretty cool.

What made japanese cars of the era sooo attractive I think is: 1-chrome bumper bars 2-old ''normal'' fashione lights both front and rear, with proper red and orange tinting 3-chroming around the tail lights and front grill area (sometimes including the front light) 3-the grey coloured plastic trims around and between taillights and rear panels, which sometimes matched with the front grill and headlight surroundings. Observe 1:17 No matter how quirky the body design of the cars were, these details somehow made these cars seem so attractive, must be a subconsious level connection :))
