Update as of March 2023. My hair is not on the silky spectrum. My current hairstylist has silky hair and expressed that I more than likely have a medium surface texture with coarse or large hair strands. Aisha of Black Girl Curls also styled my hair and confirmed I have coarse hair strands similar in size to her own and Aeleise of Black Girl Curls stated that my medium surface texture feels similar to her own medium surface texture.
Today is May 1st, 2022, Your hair turned out really good and I love the cut. Do you have any more updated videos.

I use that conditioner! How long does it take for you to detangle? I'm still at 30-45 minutes, and hoping to shorten that time. I had my first curly cut in May, and will hopefully get another cut in early July.
@FoAdunni3 жыл бұрын
I am currently just taking whatever time I have and need to detangle. It used to take me an hour to shampoo, condition, and detangle but I want the health of my hair to be pristine so I now take as much time as I feel my hair commands, so it might be 15 min, 30 min+. I also like to daydream and listen to different things while detangling so that makes it take more time.

Thannnks! And it's because I feel like I can use the mop top gel alone for my hair. It has humectant and antihumectant properties. I still have the Innersense gel that I would like to finish but I'm struggling to find a base gel to pair with it that won't make me sick from the fragrance.

@FoAdunni4 жыл бұрын
Don't copy that 😂😂😂 I actually just bought a polyester buff from buff usa. The polyester sleeve I have now may be hot for some people and may cause night sweat moisture to be trapped on their hair. A real buff is "breathable." Now I'll just use the sleeves i have to wear out as head bands or a head wrap.

This hair has made a 360! I love it! Love the new shape! Glad MT gel is working for you bc I know it’s been tough finding something that doesn’t cause an allergic reaction. Did you ever get your allergy testing done?
@FoAdunni4 жыл бұрын
Hey! Yes. I had a patch test done and I've been communicating with the doctor about my issues with products. They let me know there is no way they can account for everything I'm sensitive to. Sometimes things are a sensitivity not an allergy, but a sensitivity can still cause running nose, sinus pressure, and headaches.

Hey! Make sure you try things with the thought in mind things will work different for different people. UFD is such a unique gel. Now that my hair is super healthy it captures my curl pattern for over 5 days but it doesn't give like a really flat fused together wash go. It is very fluffy.

I went to stylist for a trim & shapeup yesterday & my Scalp Innersense was delivered yesterday.. I have started my 30 day No oils as of today. The back of my hair is a lot firmer than my front (just like you said if you add too much water it won’t be as firm). I’m going to be patient & pray that each week my hair gets better & better. @@FoAdunni I understand that what you’re posting is specifically for your hair & appreciate your honesty to point me to the professionals that can advise me about the care of my natural hair. Unfortunately, I have no one in my rural area in GA to really assist. Most are still on the relaxer band wagon. In 2016 while in California I had my hair cut in a tapered style & I pretty much tried to stay with that. When I attempted to get trims from that style here in my home state of rural GA the stylist used clippers more than scissors😩😩😩. Then hair started really balding in crown area. One month ago I did just go to same stylist for a trim & she used the clippers again 😩😩😩. I’ve been on the 30 day detox to save what hair I have left & it’s doing so much better thanks to what I’ve learned from you which has been a fun experience because each week I really started to understand what to do to style my hair… I appreciate & love your presentations even though you’re not the only person sharing info on the 30 day no oils or butter detox❤️❤️❤️..

Why do you use a leave in sometimes and the other times you don’t?
@FoAdunni3 жыл бұрын
This is one of my older vids. Some botanical gels with good humectants or have ingredients that can hold and attract water like seaweed, aloe vera, or marshmallow root don't require a leave in because they help hold water in the hair well enough and a leave in can actually disrupt the gel from having the best hold. I currently use a leave in because I now apply Curly Magic in a drafty bathroom. A steamy bathroom can excite my allergies and asthma. Curly Magic is impacted by temperature and a cooler environment can cause the gel to make the hair tangle tightly. The leave in conditioner per it's description eases detangling. It also helps my hair hold water longer as I now apply the Curly Magic gel to more damp hair and I don't want my hair to be dried out before I get to a section. I apply the Curly Magic to damp hair because my topper that I apply over the gel, the Doux Mousse, works better on damp hair for me. The explanation is quite long but I hope it's helpful. Also if you are building your own routine I highly recommend following the product advisement of your stylist.
