Eileen, you are always so helpful and an absolute delight to watch. Your calm voice and even calmer demeanor is a breath of fresh air in an otherwise loud and overwhelming world. Thank you so much for being authentically, YOU!

I also love cashmere sweaters. Have collected quite a few through the years as they don't seem to wear out if you are careful with them. I follow all your suggestions already and find baby shampoo an excellent cleaner for them Always enjoy your videos, thanks Eileen.

I've found that using a cheap, disposable razor that has no aloe or calming strip works wonderful to shave off peeling from fabrics that tend to peel.

I wash my cashemere jumpers in the washing machine (wool program, with 20 degree water) and have no issue. I wash them regularly because cashemere loves water! (Yes!) I do exactly like you for the next steps.

I do care for my wool and cashmere almost the same way. I don't thing this shaver is such a great thing. I use special brush instead and with washing peeling goes away. If a bit of it still remains I don't cry over it. This is how knitwear is done.

Thank you for sharing! I was a bit worried at first but shaver is actually quite gentle xx

Thanks ☺️ So helpful.Where do you keep ones worn sweaters.All together or you separate them?♥️👩🦰♥️

I don't separate them seeing everything gets worn regularly, so I don't really have many 'clean' pieces at a given time in my drawers xx

Thanks for filming this. I have 2 cashmere cardigans that I get dry cleaned at the beginning and end of every season, which I can get away with because they don’t touch my skin. I don’t think cashmere jumpers would be practical for me after watching this. Because I get hot flushes my jumpers have to be washed after every wear so they would be way too much work and probably wouldn’t last long. It’s a pity but that’s life post menopause.

I just came across the channel and watched some videos - loved them. However with this one there is one main problem: the fabric shaver :/ These tools will not only shave off the pilling but also the very thin, fine hair of the material, even if it isnt damaged at all, which will cause the material to get thinner and thinner, resulting in damage and eventually the fabric could even rip. Using non-electric cashmere hand-brushes is way more gentle and will give the same great result

Thank you so so much for this video! I'm want to start investing in cashmere so this is super helpful 💕 I have one question though and I'm sorry if it's a dumb question, I'm just really curious where you put your cashmere after you wear it? So after wearing it do you store them back in your drawer with all the clean pieces or do you store them in a separate place until you wash it again after a couple times of use? I hope my question makes sense 🙈 I usually put my worn clothes that I still wear on a wall hanger and not back in my clean wardrobe but since you can't hang cashmere I was wondering how you do it ☺

Eileen, this was so helpful. I have invested in cashmere over the last two years. I love the fabric and simple beauty they exude. What if the label says dry clean only? Do you think they could still be hand-washed? I think I'm going to invest in the breathable drying rack. Where do you purchase most of your cashmere pieces? I notice you stick to neutrals! Thanks for this video.
@ColourfulNoir Жыл бұрын
If the instruction says dry clean I'd send to the dry cleaner. Most of my pieces are from John Lewis, Amanda Wakeley, Aqua, and Lilysik xx

do you have any suggestions for a scarf that is cashmere blend but is firm /itchy? one of my Burberry scarfs is so thick/heavy I want to use it but the material is actually woven so stiffly. I will always grab a different one. Thank you!

I always wear a thin breathable Modal undershirt under my cashmere. If I've only worn a jumper 3-4 times in a season with an undershirt, there is really no reason to wash it at all. Moth prevention is indispensable. I slacked one year and was hit with a moth invasion.... it has been a pain in the arse to get rid of them. I still find moths from time to time. So please don't make the mistake I made.
