Late 70's early 80's Washburn basses and guitars are close to non existent over here and if you find one there $800-$1500. There is a Cort on MP that looks very close to that one, I'm sure it can't touch the Washburn. You won't know until you play it. The 8 string Washburn bass that JPJ played was that a Vulture?

it was all manson basses he played when i saw him.i think its just the b20 washburn did as an 8 string

I really like the sound and playability of this bass. I don't know which pickups are exactly in there. I guess some washburn cheaper kind of dimarzio copies but they sound good. Yesterday I compared it with my washburn vulture bass and guess what. I preferred this one above the vulture. I must admit a was playing sitting down so I had no issues with the weight. I think I will have to adjust the set up on my vulture because the playability is not as good as on my scavenger. And the action is too low on my vulture which also effects the sound. I guess they also have different pickups... I will see after I adjusted it!

oh it took me ages to find a vulture! -i think the pickups are the same gotoh dimarzio copies i have in about 10 basses!- washburns,hondo japan,aria pro, westone, grant,vox......in fact nearly every bass i own!

Thank you for the answer. As a guitar player and wing fan I only have these 2 basses so I cannot compare them to others you mention yet 😉 . I tried some basses of other people though... but I prefer my wings😊

More weight = moar tone. The oldtimers used to freshen up the old strings with asbestos. Unfortunately it's hard to come buy these days.
