Your videos have shown me both the benefits and of course the nasties of extreme fishing. Not that I'll follow suit and jump into the deep end without experience- but I am slowly and surely using your videos as inspiration to push myself and my passion to new levels. This is beyond fishing and targeting species, T.M.T may very well be a new culture in the angler world, and it starts from things as simple as the doco style filming all the way to the insane Australian landscapes being captured. I hope one day I can cast a lure in with you lads. Thanks for everything.
@MorningTideFishing10 жыл бұрын
Stephen Mandis If you are willing to release a fish then you just may one day get to cast a few lures with us, but with such a well written message I can only guess that you are more than willing to implement our style of C & R. We're really stoked to hear you feel our work may very well create a new culture in the anglers world. By the way what does the abbreviation T.M.T stand for? Too much Tuna? Haha
@stephenmandis216810 жыл бұрын
MorningTide Fishing Would be absolutely stoked to C+R with you lads. I think the realism and the message behind this movement is going to be a game changer, and you guys have defined it thus far. Force of habit, T.M.T= The morning tide- created by me asking my little brother 100x a day if he had seen the morning tide videos uploaded. Let me know how I can get into contact with you guys, if not, stay safe and keep it up! Stephen

Stephen Mandis You can message us on face book. facebook.com/pages/MorningTide-Fishing/1435249176723459 Stoked you see it this way mate. When it comes down to it we're just doing our thing, never really thought that we would have such an impact. That said, any environmental/sustainable/positive change to fishing culture is well over due and we'll be proud to be a part of that!

Again another mental video (positive that is).I know now what you mean when you say that life jackets are a death sentence for you (though on many other occassions they save lives).A friend of mine was washed into a deep gulley here,no life jacket so he could stay deep under water and was not pulled back into the sea where he would not have been able to get out and probably would have drowned.Really enjoy watching your videos,makes me want to get out there on the rocks

You guys would have to put apart you reels and service them pretty frequently with the amount of times they get covered/submerged in water!
@MorningTideFishing10 жыл бұрын
Joshua Fifis We service them about once per year or when they get smashed on a rock. We just rinse them pretty thoroughly in the shower after each session and sometimes spray them with INOX (Which is pretty good but does remove grease and breaks down rubber so not ideal).
@fifis10110 жыл бұрын
Yeah right! You must have the insides if those reels layed with grease then, otherwise the bearing would be wrecked straight away!

Hello again and greetings from Peru... two years ago I was with a friend fishing corvinas from some huge slippery rocks facing to the waves, and I was fighting with a very similar capture. The big difference, giving that the water is very cold, was that I was wearing a wader and gloves, and they protected me from scratching but not from the hits on my back and knees. Why don't you wear some kind of protection? At the bottom line, what a great fight...I like a lot your video.
@MorningTideFishing8 жыл бұрын
+antonio999us This was years ago and was a one off, it's not a really a reflection of how we fish now days (we avoid swell). If you have Waders on you wouldn't be able to swim well? (a lot of our fishing spots we swim out to the rocks). Wetsuits are good though and we usually wear them if the water's cold enough but this day was hot. We've considered taking the film down because of the negative attention it gets but it is an important film to keep up for that very reason. People need to see what can happen if you're not careful.
@antonio999us8 жыл бұрын
Hello MTF Years, but many years ago, I used to use wetsuit instead waders, and the action was more exciting. Since I was father things became different and I have to changed... hahhaha I believe that you must keep the videoonline, an maybe add in your video introduction a warning message about the precautions that anglers haave to take. Whenever you can, I invite you to watch some of my Homemade videos (I like to do my own lures) and I will appreciate your recommendations. Big regards, Antonio

What ever happen to safety first! I'm sure you guys know what your doing but why take those kinds of risk? Overall it's nice video, I have mixed feeling about the end...I would've appreciated the video a lot more if you guys were properly equipped. Even with the warnings you could give the wrong impression to "new" anglers that it's ok to fish jetties/rocks ill equipped...people die attempting stuff like this.
@MorningTideFishing10 жыл бұрын
***** Do you make comments on motor X vids and tell them that someone might try to do a double back flip on their bike and they shouldn't set a bad example? I never understand why people are offended by others that push limits... The reason this is so dangerous is because we always try to release the fish. We have to be very close too, or even in the water to do this effectively. What you're watching here is when it goes wrong and makes for some funny footage. If people think it's a good idea to try what we do after the warnings and seeing us get smashed then that's their choice and has nothing to do with us. I wouldn't try and jump from one building to another just because i saw a youtube video.
@MorningTideFishing10 жыл бұрын
***** We do at times care more for the fish then our own safety and never will pretend otherwise. C&R from the rocks is the sport we love and if it wasn't dangerous we'd be doing something else.
@ShakaAantoine10 жыл бұрын
I figured you might take my comment wrong...I am just concerned about the impression this video can leave on someone that is not as experienced as you guys are that's all.
@MorningTideFishing10 жыл бұрын
***** No sweat mate, we get pretty hounded by safety comments and it's just not what we're about. But since we're talking about it, life jackets to us are basically a death sentence. The first thing we do if we get washed into a bad situation is swim DOWN and out past the waves. If we had a life jacket on we'd be bobbing around the impact zone getting smashed onto rocks. You have to be able to swim down or you're gunna get smoked (Just like duck diving when you surf). For a fisherman who can't swim PFDs are a different story but if they can't swim they prolly shouldn't be doing a water sport in the first place haha. Every day we go fishing we swim out to rocks and get smashed by waves it's all part of the fun for us and also prepares us for days like this video.

I'm about 90% sure that guy is the bassist for Parkway Drive. Love that band but he needs to spend less time fishing the rocks and more time touring the US. In other news, got some gear questions: how long is the rod, what pound test are you using (all fluorocarbon?), and how many ounces is the lure? Thanks.
@MorningTideFishing10 жыл бұрын
MrXanderCruze Hi mate, 40lb briad (You can see our line classes here www.morningtidefishing.com/pages/fishermen). The rod used in this vid is the Demonblood 9'6 (Check it out here kzbin.info/www/bejne/o2LXaXhuqadrd68). The lure is 43g which i think is 1 and 1/3rd ounce?
